For an app that’s supposed to be helpful, this isn’t it….

2024-10-13

The cost of this subscription is insanity. My 4 year old was recently diagnosed with Celiacs, and making sure she’s safe if we go out to eat is a huge priority. However, it’s clear that the developer is just interested in taking advantage of people and making money off of literal illnesses and allergies. Absolutely disgusting. I’ll stick to Find Me GF, and recommend you do the same.

UPDATE - As you can see, I was given the same tired, repetitive response that so many others were. Based on some simple searching, it appears that this app has about 38 employees and raised 18 million dollars about a year ago, and one of their top investors is Target. So, I don’t really believe you’re hurting for money. I stand by what I said - the cost of your subscription is insanely high.

Annoying

2024-10-13

I have celiac and it’s so hard to find places to eat. I downloaded Atly in hopes to find new places, BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY!! it’s so annoying and just frustrating that everything related to celiac seems to cost $$$$. It would be so nice to have a free app that tells you where you can eat, celiacs already have a hard time finding food, and already pay extra for food most of the time. it’s ridiculous to me to have to pay for Atly. it’s horrid.

Run don't walk AWAYYY

2024-10-13

During setup I selected gluten free food in my interests and it sent me to a page to choose a paid subscription model to use Atly . I closed Atly , reopened it, and started the setup process WITHOUT selecting gluten free, and it allowed me to use Atly completely without ever prompting me for payment. Thought this would be a useful app to find date spots for my gluten-intolerant boyfriend, turns out it's just trying to selectively profit off of people with specific dietary needs.

NOT for celiacs

2024-10-13

I’ve seen tons of ads for Atly. Had not bothered. I was looking for gluten free options for a certain restaurant and it popped up as “top 5 restaurants in this town for gluten free” So we went. Only to find it is one of the LEAST friendly places for those who need to be gluten free. Despite trying to work with the waitress, the manager AND the chef- I still got sick with just an unseasoned steak and plain potato.

Atly CANNOT be trusted for those with dietary restrictions or allergies.

Atly will also cost you a pretty penny of $100 a year. Save your money. Yelp is a better source of accurate information- and it’s free.

App barely works

2024-10-13

Hardly anything you touch registers. When you search for maps try and tap on them, they don’t open up. There isn’t anyway to see any of the maps you follow. If there is, there isn’t an easy way to find it. You cannot tap on other users to see what maps they follow. This could be because that user is set to private, but there should be at least something that indicates they are private. I just chalk it up to the main issue where non of your taps register. And no it isn’t my phone because that is the only app that doesn’t work on my phone.

Clearly not developed by people who live with celiac

2024-10-13

I already pay 3-5€ extra for things like gluten-free hamburger buns, pizza crust, etc. Why the actual heck would I pay 100 A YEAR for a sub par map that tells me what Google told me in two clicks? No one with celiac has chosen this disease, STOP making us financially pay more to be able to eat out. On top of that, this company crowd sourced about 18 million USD in start up costs and has major investors like Target. With that, you can make the gluten free map FREE to those already suffering from celiac. It’s obvious the creators are out of touch with what it means to live with celiac disease. Don’t bother!

Charging but I can’t ever try it first?

2024-10-13

I’m not paying for an app I can’t try first. I have downloaded a ton of these because I have celiac disease and most have almost no restaurants added. I’m not paying to find out if this one is the same and based on the reviews it sounds like it is. Also celiac disease is a disability charging people to be able to live their lives is real low. I understand charging for vegan and vegetarian or something that’s a diet choice but come on I’m stuck living this already too expensive life and everyone has to make money off of us. Just use Find Me Gluten Free, they have a free option.

Ridiculously overpriced

2024-10-13

I have celiac disease. Obviously it’s not something I wish I had. The worst thing about it is it limits spontaneity when it comes to eating out. You have to do a little more planning ahead. I stumbled on Atly and got a little excited as it is clearly advertised for its GF map filtering. But that quickly turned to anger when I realized they charge $100/year (or $500 [not a typo] for lifetime!). That’s blatantly taking advantage of the celiac community. Anyone reading this, there is a free app that’s been out far longer and is constantly updated. Find Me GF. If you want to support the developers and get some additional premium features, it’s far more reasonable at $20/year. 80% less than this bogus app. Good riddance.

Not the only one

2024-10-13

There have been and are, loads of GF apps and websites and even online groups that offer FREE gluten free restaurants and other dining info in large detail. Heck I have a set of multi-lingual, for all nationalities GF cards app FREE for years since before iPhones gotten from a website who believe FREE / accessible was more important to keep people safe and well. The only paid program I ever used was one that offered and updated ingredients lists on ALL products in stores with constant updates. THAT was worth it and was amazing in its day. It was downloadable, was website, and handheld machines friendly before smartphones and then adapted to smartphones. Even they knew things needed to eventually become free. ‘Get with the program’ and make this free.

Description says free app, it isn’t

2024-10-13

Hey this app, your description says “No ads, no sponsored posts, no strings, this app is a 100% user-generated free app, designed to help you know where to go. Try it today and let us know what you think!” But then I can’t get into Atly without signing up for a 7 day free-trial and paying $8.33 a month after that. It is also very confusing based off the description and some reviews what exactly Atly is for. Some places it says it’s for finding gluten free restaurants and other places if for sights and other locations. So it’s hard for me to trust the star rating. The gluten free is what drove me to download Atly - but I have no idea if it will even show me of any gluten free places around me unless I sign up and it’s a very steep price for a gf locator.

I really want to like this app, but...

2024-10-13

I love the idea of Atly, but the thing that is supposed to drive it (crowd sourced information) is exactly the problem with it - many of the points of interest are random pictures of nothing (like someone’s steering wheel, or a guy’s leg), and others are just a picture of random people with no further comment or explanation.
Also, the login requires either gmail or Facebook, and the privacy policy unabashedly states that third parties will gather and use your data.
The one redeeming quality is that some users highlight murals and such that would not be found on a standard google map.

Good concept, poor delivery

2024-10-13

Atly is fine. It’s not particularly user friendly, or not. Every gluten free restaurant I clicked on didn’t have a menu available (pretty sure a couple places have closed down). Seems like a less-useful Yelp because the GF ratings are crowd sourced. They do have a verification system for GF but every restaurant is currently being “vetted.” Might be good one day, but I’ll cancel after my week free trial.

Not enough data

2024-10-13

I wanted to love this, the concept and interface is great. But the data is not populated for my area and I am not interested in paying an expensive subscription fee for an app I cannot use or benefit from in any way. If there was a free version to use while the data is populated for an area I would be interested in contributing. Until then, it’s throwing money away in some geographical areas.

Cool But Still Glitchy

2024-10-13

This has the potential to be super cool but EVERY SINGLE time I click on something it asks me to allow location services, which I don’t want to do because I’m not in that location. VERY ANNOYING. Additionally, I’ve still not figured out how to see an entire comment someone has left. I can repost or report it the first sentence it shows me, but I can’t see the entirety of the comment.

Needs Some Work Before Being A Gluten Free Resource

2024-10-13

If you’re like me (Celiac disease), you’ve been pelted with this app ads lately, saying it is THE gluten free restaurant guide app. I’m here to tell you that’s not quite the case yet. I appreciate them reaching out to restaurants for confirmation of safety, but most of the reviews on there currently are just any reviews featuring “gluten free” pulled from Google and don’t provide the kind of first-hand experience that Find Me Gluten Free gives you. I could see this being a great resource one day, but right now if you’re using it for GF recommendations it’s not worth $20 a month

Love the Concept!

2024-10-13

I love the concept of this app! It is an amazing tool for a traveler. You can tag any place you visit and have something to say about, and share your experience. You also get to read what locals or tourists think about a certain place you want to visit, or discover places you didn't know about.

I think this app is a must-have for a travel addict!

Navigation made easy

2024-10-13

Atly is amazing, any place you want to go is searchable, not only with location but with images. App is easy to use, fast and has information about location you need all in app.

Great app to fully release the power of map

2024-10-13

It’s pretty glad to see so many useful maps, it can not only help you plan your travel, but can make your life easier by tons of points of interest. It can also help you explore your neighborhood. Love it.

Amazing App

2024-10-13

I’ve been using this app for a few years now. Learned a ton about new places to explore in my own city as well as during trips to other places. I particularly love the new UI, which is a much smoother and easier-to-use experience. Highly recommend!

Great Mapping App

2024-10-13

This is a great app. I have been using it to track my favorite fishing spots and sharing them with friends. Cool because you can load photos and leave notes, this way I remember what tackle to bring to each spot.
