It seems like there are a lot of bugs with ThursdayDating. I wasn’t even able to fully set up my profile. No matter what I did it said I was from London even though I am from New York. There were some other things where ThursdayDating kept crashing after requiring a fairly intensive input process. Example- no where to type in your city. You have to move the map point to where you are in the world from London. I was able to select Manhattan but my profile still showed London. I tried this 3 times.

Compared to other apps this is really not user-friendly. I love the concept and I hope they figure out how to polish it to be more practical to use in the future.

After having to upload ID + selfie 10x, got scammed into zero filter Tinder app—1. they want you to waste time sifting through everyone in the city ie short guys (no height filter), trade laborers/gig workers/dropouts/HD education ppl (no education level filter), ppl you’d never date (no ethnicity filter), etc

2. You have to click everyone on a map to see their profiles, then click to like/pass, then click to go back to see more (they wont show more until you like/pass). Even if they didnt only have 50 male users in Manhattan, you’d have to click 200x just to see + like or pass on 50 profiles. This is if clicking X button actually works + instead of showing ppl you just passed. Worse than not launching at all

3. They put your home location on the exact cross streets of a map, zero safety/privacy from stalkers/harassers to find you.

Regret giving my ID (ie DOB, state identifier, home address etc NOT online + prone to identify theft, you fake reviewer Katie) to ppl who don’t even know how to make a dating app despite many successful references, signaling they wont know how to protect it. If you sell my data bc you don’t know how to make $ w/ an app much less an app, MY LAWYERS + I ARE COMING FOR YOU

As an attorney, I actually took the time to read through their Terms and Conditions. I can guarantee that no one with a law degree wrote them. They’re chalk full of typos and colloquialisms and I’m fully confident some
startup bro thought he was being cheeky by drafting them.

Once they asked me for a photo of my passport and/or driver’s license, I knew this was a scam and deleted ThursdayDating immediately. You can tout “safety and security” all you want, but it’s absolutely asinine for a foreign, beta-phase app to REQUIRE the disclosure of highly sensitive, easily stolen data. Do not trust ThursdayDating.

I did appreciate their feeble attempt at drafting an arbitration and forum selection clause. If and when they misuse whatever data they’ve retained, let me know when y’all are available for a little trip across the pond. I’m always in the mood for a London vacation with a side of class action.

NYC. Been with ThursdayDating since the start. I’m a young dude. Pull girls in person all the time IRL. But ThursdayDating only allows 10 likes unless you pay. So I paid and still in 24 hours I barely get any matches. To keep it simple, ThursdayDating is a dub

Edit after response: LOL, thanks for responding to me. Question? Why wouldn’t I use dating apps? It’s 2022, dating apps only expand my horizon of potential partners. You guys have a nice marketing team. Good quirky witty response. Keep defending your app but it’s rating is garbage for a reason.

I opened ThursdayDating today for the first time, horrified to see a map pinpointing my (and everyone else’s) exact cross streets. Deleting immediately. How incredibly unsafe, especially for women. It’s literally inviting in predators/stalkers. There’s a potential match two blocks from me, so now I can go hang out on his corner and watch for him! I’m in shock over how ThursdayDating is still functioning and maintaining female users after seeing this completely idiotic feature.

I almost feel bad for writing this review, but holy crud does your marketing team need a raise.

1. Way too much verification. I would suggest making ThursdayDating paywalled so someone has to spend at least $0.99 a month to get basic (maybe like a basic+?) access. That will cut majority of fake profiles. Selfie verification to further vet folks.

2. Filters. At the very least, filters based on age, location (distance), and “what they are looking for”.

3. 24hr window for matching is silly. I cannot tell you how many Bumble matches that I have gotten that expire because someone doesn’t check their dating app every 24hrs.

Checked it out due to the on-point marketing. I seriously hope you are paying them well.

While I love the concept and their marketing - it involves BOTH parties to agree to the concept, otherwise ThursdayDating doesn’t really work.
I find myself connecting with people but having a hard time in the limited hours to connect, find a date and then execute said date. It’s like Thursday applied the UBER model to Hinge.

It would be far better if you could match with people during the week and then on Wednesday, you saw your matches and on Thursday you could begin chatting. That would allow me to open ThursdayDating and play around with during the week. Otherwise, it’s a dumb concept that will fail.

Beyond the, the “membership” add on is a huge waste. I don’t see the value of paying so much for using this 4 days out a month. On other dating apps, I typically match with people on tuesdays and Wednesday and make plans for Thursday.

All in all, Thursday took a cool idea but executed horribly. People who say “yes” to dating on Thursday are either unresponsive or out and about and don’t have time to chat with someone at the bar. They need to expand their parameters and allow users to use ThursdayDating on other days with the idea that we go out on Thursday - otherwise it’s basically just a nice UI concept app parading around as a hook up app.

Please implement so more changes, make the membership worthwhile and price accurately and add more other flavors to ThursdayDating that will really distinguish yourself from the Hinges and Bumbles of the world.

I went to an event for the first time last night, I’ve been on ThursdayDating for 2 weeks. The concept is cool but the dating pool is not. From my home location it was matching me with guys that work in my area as bartender’s, construction workers, and line cooks. The event was so loud and had a creepy vibe to it. It was exactly the type of place I would usually avoid, but would probably have tolerated in my 20’s.
I paid $15 for the upgrade and got absolutely nothing. You can’t see all your likes at once and you can’t keep messages so there is an urgency for the guy to get your number asap instead of chatting first. Canceled my subscription and will probably just check it every once in awhile to see if the dating pool has improved, but definitely not going to the events unless they have a 30+ one in a more chill environment

The concept is great but it needs refinement to work well. Had 2 matches at 10pm but chats end at midnight, most people are slow to respond so what’s the point? Give 24hrs from a match at least. $20 boosted account seems to do nothing, messages a bunch of profiles with no response. 150 people were available in my radius, 8 showed up on my map, new people showed up when I would X’d each profile off the map or reloaded ThursdayDating . No way to filter by height or other preferences. Radius is where you are at the moment, but if I work downtown and want to date uptown, I’m on a downtown radius which isn’t convenient. If ThursdayDating changes, I’ll try it again, but for now, not worth it

I’ve been hearing about ThursdayDating from sponsored posts so I gave it a try. Set up my profile, verified my info, and waited. Thursday rolls around and I open it to find … no matches matching my criteria. I expand my distance range to the maximum distance (I already had all genders, and a pretty wide age range) and still nobody shows up.

It’s a fun concept but what’s the point if nobody is using it? I live in a major city so if there’s anywhere people are going to be using an app like this, it’s here.

The concept is very similar to that of dating app Bounce, but I like that it’s only for one day so that you get a larger pool of people. What’s annoying is that if you click on a profile just to see what someone looks like, you need to instantly either like or reject them. You can’t just close them out - and “liking” implies you want to go out tonight when I just want to see my options first. Also it’s not super clear how to opt out for tonight after opting in just to see the potentials. Lastly, doesn’t seem to be a way to provide feedback within ThursdayDating itself. I wouldn’t have left it in a review!

Interesting idea but in my experience it seems like way more people are using it to find the afterparties than are actually looking for dates. I only ever see around 15-25 people active on ThursdayDating at a time but when I went to one of their events it was packed. I left pretty much right away cause it was basically just a crowded party at a bar and not really a good singles event to meet people like they’d advertised. If you’re just interested in the parties more power to you I guess, it seems like it’s decent enough for that.

I really love the Thursday-only idea ThursdayDating puts on the table. But the fact that the messaging also gets locked after midnight is frustrating. I’ve been sent messages a few times with someone who matched with me in the late evening. I’ll see the notification, get excited, then cannot view the message until a week later. I wish the messaging could stay unlocked at the minimum, through the weekend. But ThursdayDating is great and I’ll continue to use it.

This was my first time using ThursdayDating and I must say I was smiling nonstop with the wonderful I’ve connected with. It could lead to hanging out and networking and that’s cool. I’ve met some interesting people. The concept is cool. Try it and see for yourself.

ThursdayDating is great, I love how everyone needs to be verified before joining. I haven’t been to any of the events hosted by Thursday but I’m definitely interested in going! It’s such a fun way to date and meet new people!

Thursday is great! It’s still new so I think there’s tons of potential as more and more people join. I’ve already been on a couple dates with a guy I matched with a few weeks ago. Would recommend to my friends!

So far ThursdayDating does use a good amount of information to confirm your identity, I don’t know exactly how it works on a real as haven’t gone on one yet but, I can say I like what they are and would encourage others to give it a try.

Feel like I’ve used every dating app - the events are class and having to connect with people before chats run out actually makes guys commit to meeting up instead of just getting stuck messaging them for weeks

I’ve seen lots of reviews saying that ThursdayDating is slow and glitchy which is not the experience I had at all - it was very smooth and easy to set up. Clearly getting much better with every update they put out.

Really is, and it’s honestly refreshing. The ease of access the other apps offer definitely spikes my anxiety more than it should. The fact that Thursday enforces patience and respect by making you wait each week is the most refreshing thing to happen in the dating app sphere since dating apps came about in the first place.

I’m all about keeping catfish from ThursdayDating but I’m not gonna submit my id just for a dating app. like legit don’t trust. you can easily verify phone numbers or take a picture thru app but submitting your drivers license is a bit much.

First, they make you scan your ID like you’re going in to a night club. Then they flatly admit to you that you can only see a limited number of profiles and send a limited number of likes unless you upgrade to VIP. I was excited for ThursdayDating, but they’ve managed to disappoint me within seconds. Shame on this company for making yet another cash grab dating app.

App straight up does not work. Reinstalled 6 times and get error codes. No matches. Wrong Location. And app freezes. Good concept terrible execution

What kind of app asks for such personal information before signing up? Build trust first than sure but to give my passport or ID just to make an account?

than upload my ID and/or passport. God knows what you all are gonna do with that information as it is, let alone a data breach happens. There are other ways to verify people, and it’s a dating app. It ain’t that serious.

Requiring passport or driver’s license to verify your profile is sketchy and a huge turnoff. There are so many other ways to verify identity that don’t require giving an app this info.

Thought i’d try it out, but i’m never adding a picture of my passport/drivers license to get on yet another dating app. Never actually heard of a friend being truly catfished. Especially on a same day app like this. Only seen slightly misleading pictures that identity verification would not solve. Just do a selfie with a promoted pose like other apps smh

ThursdayDating operates smoothly although there are some issues as this is the launch day. The concept is pretty cool. ThursdayDating will be turned off for the entire week except on Thursday (free version) and Saturday (paid version $10.99). And in order to avoid cat-fishing, you need to verify yourself using your government issued ID card, DL or passport. Users can argue that they don’t wanna verify themselves as this would be the invasion of their privacy but they overlooked the fact that their entire data is already online. ThursdayDating will come online this upcoming Thursday. I have high hopes that if this run smoothly, it’ll change the dating life of a lot of singles. Godspeed!
