To start, the reply here will be to reach out to customer service. I’ve done that, and there are no replies. Maybe the worst customer service ever. I paid $2,800 for a watch that now will not sync to the Tag golf app. It used to run just fine. Now every time I try to sync the round in my watch to TAGHeuerGolf , the round on the Tag Connected golf watch just crashes. Today I played 17 holes then opened TAGHeuerGolf to let it sync, and it only synced 6 holes, then crashed. Entire round lost. Before at any point if I open TAGHeuerGolf on my phone, it would simply sync with the last hole completed and go from there. Now, crash. Before it crashes it tries to download the course data over and over. I have the most current iOS. The tag golf app on the watch is most recent, as well as on the phone. I’ve restarted. If I could I get my money back tomorrow on this. It’s absolutely terrible.

This used to be a fantastic golf app when it was fun golf, but since the switch over to TAG it has fell apart. App crashes constantly and the yardages are incorrect. One of the last rounds I played had the middle of green yardage and back of green yardages as the same distance. And it was like that on every hole. My playing partner uses TAG as well and his was experiencing the same problem. On my round yesterday TAGHeuerGolf ended my round about 5 holes in and my scorecard was lost. On a precious round TAGHeuerGolf crashed somewhere on the front 9 and would crash every time I tried to reopen it, so I had to ask my playing partners for distances. I’ve used TAGHeuerGolf for years, but I just deleted it off my phone after yesterday’s debacle. TAG took a great app and messed it up for the worst. I’ll be looking elsewhere for a better app

Well they sold out and people are mad because of subscriptions I’m mad because of the new functionality switch. Forced to switch over and bought the half off for the year of Apple Watch played it today. Buggy and confusing as far as interface goes the watch and phone don’t sync well at all the only thing similar to FunGolf app is the map graphics. They tripled your inputs for one simple shot that the original FunGolf had. TAGHeuerGolf is horrible and contacted customer support for a refund on the upgraded app. I think it’s a five day trial period and this one lasted one day and 2 holes of golf before I just stopped trying to input every shot and just entered my score manually with no logging of distance. TAGHeuerGolf is so dumb when I entered my scores it could not even figure out that I had shots of over a mile ruining any of my other stats when it comes to long game and club length ect ect. I will update this review if customer service ever gets back to me and I will contest my purchase with my credit card company if I am charged and not refunded because I did notify them of my poor experience with their app within the trial period.

Bought TAGHeuerGolf to use on Apple Watch.

While the graphics are nice, especially the ability to scroll the full hole using the Digital Crown of the Apple Watch, I found the GPS accuracy and performance to be so bad as to render TAGHeuerGolf completely useless for any serious golfer.

Regardless of whether I used the Apple Watch’s GPS exclusively, or while paired to the iPhone’s GPS, the yardages given were seldom within reasonable accuracy range (often off by more than 10 yards!) Even worse, TAGHeuerGolf would freeze or not refresh to update yardages as you moved along the course. Also, the battery drain (on both watch and phone mode) for a single round of golf is far too excessive.

I read Tag’s tips and responses to all reviews posted here, and don’t need to have them ask me to contact support and then beg for a 5 star rating. The bottom line: this is a half-baked app for the Apple Watch in my opinion, based upon my actual trial runs. Perhaps it works well on Tag’s expensive golf watch, but the 1 year subscription fee for the iOS app (which I’ve already deleted) is all the cash they’ll ever get from me!

I had and enjoyed Fun Golf for years. It had everything I wanted and nothing I didn’t. The Tag app tries, but comes up short.
First off, when I get to a hole, my map is blank (white) with the “thinking circle”. I don’t have time for it to load before I must tee off. Other hole maps show up, just not the current hole I am on.
FunGolf used to show a map of courses. Very useful when you wan to see where they are in relation to your current position.
The hole map options were better as well with FunGolf.
Tag may not want to make this fixes, which is fine. Please just tell me what other golf app has the functionality that FunGolf had.

I have been using TAGHeuerGolf for several rounds and I loved. Today was a disaster. At first I detected a new look but after that all the distance projections were very incorrect by far. In every hole the projected distance to the hole was way short than the reality. For example, I was hitting from the 150 yards mark and TAGHeuerGolf was telling me 130 yards to the center, the first time I obey TAGHeuerGolf as usual but my shot was very short. After that every thing was a pain in the a... because I realize that a totally forget how to play using the course marks and I there was no time to look for others apps... sorry for the long reviews but I'm very disappointed with the update. It was the perfect golf gps app with low battery consuming and very accurate distance calculations.

What I liked, 1)nice visual interface on iPhone and iwatch, 2)easy to work with, 3)fairly accurate distances. What I did not like, 1)on iwatch it kept leaving app and i had to search for it between shots and holes, 2)if I hit off the fairway it sometimes switched to the adjacent hole and i had to reset to current hole, and 3)cost of 6.99 per month or 40 dollars per year feels expensive with its short comings I mentioned before. Only used for one round during trail period and basically ignored TAGHeuerGolf on last 9 holes.

I’ve been trying hard to find the best golf app that utilizes the Apple Watch for GPS position and actually shows the hole on the watch....and this is the closest that I’ve found to accomplish that. One thing missing and one bug to fix and these guys might just satisfy my wishes. First thing, functionality is great and I really just wish that I could initiate the shot measurement with my watch, instead of the phone. This is a big one that would make the use of the watch independent of the phone. You can end the shot distance recording via the watch, so I’m sure that isn’t far off. The only “gripe” that I have has been mentioned in other reviews and it keeps happening to me as well....TAGHeuerGolf keeps coming back on by itself when away from the course. Almost there....

Price is a little steep when compared to similar priced apps that have more features.

Overall TAGHeuerGolf is nice and easy to use. It’s the only app that shows the landing area of the green or fairways. This makes the yardage really clear and allows the phone to stay in the cart/bag/pocket. The addition of the satellite views is very welcome!

The one area where TAGHeuerGolf can improve is the scorecard. Allowing the scorecard to rotate to a landscape view would make it easier to read.

I have used TAGHeuerGolf for about a year. First when it was FunGolf and now as Tag Heuer Golf. I find it to be a very helpful tool. I play on a lot of different courses during the season and TAGHeuerGolf shows the course layout and the distances to hazards and greens. Since I wear my Apple Watch every day (!) I always have TAGHeuerGolf on me, charged and ready for a round anywhere!
My one issue is that for some reason TAGHeuerGolf is now using up way more battery. My watch dies about midway through a round and then I need to use it on my iPhone. This didn’t happen previously (when it was FunGolf) and not sure why it’s happening now...
Will there be any updates to the system to address this?

I bought the newest Apple Watch series 5 gps and cellular two weeks ago... tried two other golf apps and was not thrilled. I downloaded this one and paid the $6.99 for a month as a trial period. I used it yesterday and I am very happy. I will purchase the $40 yearly. All I really want is the distance to green. The other stuff is not important at this stage of my play. I think $40 is a bit much for the simple usage I need but I personally think it is worth it, I hope to eventually use the other features.
I like being able to go thru my game and look at my distance quickly and it was updated as soon as I looked no waiting for the watch to catch up like others. It used 70% of battery to go 5.5 hours of play.

I previously wrote with a 3 rating concerning the iwatch version. Since I have been using the iwatch only version it has worked great. My only issue is the battery drain to the iwatch. Typically it uses 50 to 70%. Make sure you have close to a full charge. I do not believe it is worth the $40 price for iwatch. But since I got stuck with the charge I might as well use it. But I will not renew do to the cost and battery drain.

So everything about TAGHeuerGolf is awesome except for one major bug. If you hit your ball into a different fairway it now thinks you’re playing that hole and will not give you the distance to the hole you’re playing on. In the old app you could go back to the hole manually and it would give you the distance but on this version it shows a grey dot on the green and gives the full yardage from off the tee. Ugh.

There are 2 things keeping me from giving TAGHeuerGolf 5 stars. 1. I can’t change the score from my Apple Watch due to what seems to be a bug. 2. There should be a record button on the Apple Watch screen to instantly start recording the shot. Otherwise TAGHeuerGolf rocks and is one of the most visually pleasing golf apps on TAGHeuerGolf Store.

Does TAGHeuerGolf track GPS distances from the watch itself or does it actually do it from the phone? I’m looking for an Apple Watch golf app that I doesn't require me carry my phone in my pocket to get accurate distances on my watch. When I walk around wearing the watch I want the yardages to adjust as I’m walking even if I leave my phone in the cart.

Does the Tag Heuer Apple Golf Watch work that way?

It took a month to figure out TAGHeuerGolf and the watch mostly because the fancy box it came in didn't have any user directions other than how to turn it on. I wanted it to work and i can tell you now that it does! Its actually fantastic. When you buy the watch make sure you follow up with customer support. The GPS is spot on. The interface for golf once you get used to it is just the best. Very nice watch faces as would be expected by Tag.

Enjoying the iPhone and the watch app so far.

For the iPhone app, 3D maps aren’t very useful without showing the elevation correctly so I feel like it’s a gimmick. I am sure a lot work went into it but not sure how useful that is. I really hope they can show accurate elevation with future update.

For the watch app, I’d like to record a shot like you can on the iPhone app. I didn’t see a way to do that on the watch app. If it auto detected the shot, that would be even better. 👍

I’ve been using TAG since it was called “FunGolf GPS” in 2014 and it is easily the best app for yardages out there. They’re all spot on and it actually gives a 3D map of the course. If they don’t have a course you just message support and they add it faster than you could ever imagine (I emailed on a Friday night and they had it mapped on Monday). All of my friends love it and I recommend it to anybody that asks what app to use. Honestly don’t know how it’s not the highest used, it’s so much better than 18Birdies.

Just tried TAGHeuerGolf for the first time. Very accurate readings alongside my Garmin Approach watch. Much happier wearing one watch than two! And of course, preferring to wear my Apple Watch!

QUESTION: (While I’ve been waiting for your answer, I was charged $6.99 for the monthly subscription.). I’m sure I want this so I’d like to convert my monthly subscription to annual ASAP. There are two choices: “Tag Heuer Upgrade to annual” and “Tag Heuer Premium annual?” Is there a difference? Is the “upgrade to annual” only available to existing monthly subscribers - so is that the one I should choose?

Update- new updates are great. I’ve used TAGHeuerGolf for many rounds and love it. Favorite and most used app on my watch.

Earlier post: I used to use Fun Golf on my Apple Watch 4, now use Tag Heuer Golf App. Basically the same app but with a different presentation of stats. I Kind of like the new stats better. Courses, distances, shot tracking, scoring all work flawlessly for me. Battery usage the same. Can easily get in 18 holes using watch GPS. A 5 hour round will use about 70% of the battery so try to have a full charge. An improvement I would like is to have is a stat page for all the recorded shots. Currently it just shows for each round. Please keep updating and supporting the Apple Watch. To me it’s the best golf app for Apple watches.

I have been using Fun Golf app which has now sold to Tag Heuer . I have purchased the subscription to TAGHeuerGolf and have attempted to use it on my Apple Watch 4 and iPhone X. It will not populate the scores on either. On the iPhone it will not track a shot either. I have written TH and received no help. Now either tell me how to fix it, fix it and let me know or return my money!!! PLEASE!

Enjoy using TAGHeuerGolf the more features I discover.
Could you add the capability to tap watch to count strokes on a hole. I do this now by going to the screen on my watch where you record your score and put it to one instead of the par it starts with. The only problem with this method is you can’t see yardage to hole on the next shots without saving the strokes which then makes TAGHeuerGolf think you moved to the next hole. Thanks

Good app, but will be great if your total score is available on apple phone while playing the holes. Example before playing hole 17, to have your total score to be seen on apple watch, example showing a 71 shots before start of hole 17th...

I used the predecessor app for years and it kept improving. This year with Tag Heuer TAGHeuerGolf made some great changes and now covers all the courses that I play. Seamless watch use is so much better than working with a phone or a laser. Distance arcs displayed on the image of each green are especially great.

The UX/UI of TAGHeuerGolf is seriously the best. Very clean and the watch experience is perfect. I love being able to use the crown to get very accurate yardage to the actual pin locations. I would love the option to keep a handicap with TAGHeuerGolf ! Maybe in the future.

Best standalone app for Apple Watch. Accurate yardage. Wish it would automatically progress to next hole after entering score. Other than that it’s solid.
