Coral: Intimacy for Couples Reviews

this app came into my life at a time my partner and I really needed it. The exercises are so great, my partner and I book in a weekly date night where we try one of the guided exercises - it’s really put some bom-chick-a-wow-wow back into our intimate life. The community normalised a lot of what we were experiencing and helped make me feel less alone in our struggle for connection. The content is so delightful, I feel I can really trust the information without feeling judged or pressured. My partner and I just love Coral and could not recommend it more highly. Thank you this app!

I appreciate the effort to be trans and gender-inclusive while creating your profile, but as others have said it just doesn’t go far enough and my non-binary fiancé couldn’t really accurately represent themselves. We were super excited and interested in Coral though, so we pushed on and enjoyed working through the first few starter modules. But after looking through the “explore” section for more we realized there was no way we as a trans man and non-binary person could actually use most of the content without being misgendered the entire time, which definitely doesn’t get us in the mood for thinking or talking about sex, it just makes us dysphoric.

I really appreciate the effort y’all have made so far, and I even more appreciate the willingness and enthusiasm to learn more and make your app better in response to feedback from other trans and nb people, but we just can’t use it the way it is now. My fiancé and I LOVE the concept of Coral so so much and we want so badly for it to work for us, so if changes are made to make it more inclusive of trans people we will definitely be back.

I heard good things about Coral, but unfortunately I couldn't even get past the create an account screen to see them/include them in my review.

The only options for your gender are "man," "woman," "trans-masculine," "trans-feminine," and "genderqueer." First of all, what is trans-masculine and trans-feminine? Do you mean transgender men and women? If so, you need to get rid of them. A trans man or woman would select the "man" or "woman" option. For those categories to be seperate suggests that you think trans men aren't real men, and trans women aren't real women. Get rid of those options.

Second, the options for who you're attracted to are only "men," "women," and "everyone." My partner is non binary, and I'm only attracted to them, so what do I put? Honestly, I would get rid of this question and just make all the content gender neutral. Maybe if you show different content for different types of couples, ask what type of content they would like to see. "Show me Penis-in-vagina penetration content." "Show me oral sex for vulvas content." "Show me anal penetration with a strap on content." etc.

I’m 18 and identify as non-binary. I downloaded Coral because I loved the idea behind it, but as soon as it asked me for my personal details, I realized I would have to lie to create an account. There wasn’t even options for my identities.

It asks you for your gender first. I was happy at first glance because besides man and woman, it gives you an other option. But when I clicked on it, it only gave me the options of trans-masculine and trans-feminine. I wish the creators of Coral would realize 1. transgender women and men ARE women and men, it should not be under a category called “other”. Please reword. Specify cisgender options if you want to specify transgender options. 2. Non-binary people exist. There was NO option for us.

Secondly, it asks you for your age, and only starts at 20. 18 & 19 year olds might be a small demographic but I wish they wouldn’t overlook us completely.

Not going to get too personal but this really helped get my marriage back on track. If you are having troubles with intimacy in your relationship Coral can help. The price $$ is moderate to high but 100% worth it in my honest opinion. Try the free version and see the results and you will definitely pay to unlock the rest.

While Coral is great it does have issues. It’s buggy/glitchy. You will complete lesson modules but it will show incomplete even though you completed every section (they have hidden sections). It also won’t show your recent activity which is necessary if you are answering questions or your question is being answered.

Things I would improve on this site
1: A more open community/forum and it shouldn’t be blocked by subscription. I would like to see discussions/questions from the community and answered by the community.

2: Ask an expert. You can ask questions but it may or may not get approved. Having you question answered would make Coral worth its moderately high subscription cost.

3: Fix the bugs.

I started using Coral with my partner for the past few weeks and I love it! We were skeptical at first, but we’re open to trying it. We have different levels of desire and have been trying to work on it together the past year. So far the guided practices have helped me better trust and connect to my partner. I feel confident that if we continue using Coral , we will continue to have the emotional intimacy I crave and thus more pleasure in sex for the both of us🙏🏼♥️

We really like the content and daily prompts and it worked great for a month. BUT, I’d say Coral has only worked for half of the time since we’ve started using it over the last 3 months. It’s very hard to build a habit and ritual of connecting when Coral isn’t available to use. I’ve tried multiple times to get the help support to correct the issue. The staff has been very courteous. However, what we ultimately want is for Coral to work and that has not happened, nor have we been given a timeline of when we can expect it to work.

We’re hopeful, but we’re approaching the point of asking for a refund and finding an alternative.

I only tried the free trial but it was great. As a counselor I would recommend to couples having communication issues or anyone who wants to add fun to their sex life. Even singles will get a lot from Coral - it’s good for everyone. I love that the approach is all about getting in touch with yourself - what do you want. Then how do you communicate to your present or perspective partner. It’s the first thing I’ve seen for this subject and it is well designed. The subscription is expensive so I probably will not buy but have enjoyed the trial.

I’ve only just begun the segments to learn about my intimate life and how to improve, but I’m already so validated and encouraged. My low libido is often a point of contention in my relationship, but I feel like this app is going to help me regain control. The “lessons” are only a couple minutes long at a time, so it’s easy for me to do when I have a moment.

I’m truly enjoying my free trial, and am highly likely to continue with the paid service to reach my goals!

I had seen this app around on Instagram but thought it was for cost so never considered using it until covid happened and they were offering information on how to cope. Turns out- this app is free! They offer a premium option, which I’m sure is stellar, but they offer a lot of insights in their free version that have really helped me understand myself and learn more about sensual, sexual, and compassionate ways of being. Highly recommend.

It's really frustrating that we don't receive notifications when there's a new daily prompt in the chat. I would also like to set a daily reminder notification, but it seems like we can only get random notifications.

I also think the price is a bit steep for the amount of content, but despite that I still think it was 100% worth it because our intimacy levels have definitely been higher and I feel more connected to my partner.

I purchased the year long membership but didn’t use it after the 1st week. My wife doesn’t use it and the daily questions are embarrassing, childish and provocative. I just don’t understand what the point of Coral is. It doesn’t really do anything or encourage engagement. You don’t really even understand what the yearly fee is for. It’s just basically text messaging.

6 week update: Partner still doesn’t use Coral . Can’t find suggestions on Coral . They ask you to browse “Play” but I have never found it. Still confused on what exactly we’re supposed to be doing.

The content on Coral is much better than anything else I’ve found, especially the guided audio stuff. So bravo to the founder for building something good finally! Well worth the subscription cost for my partner and I imo. But... the new redesign is really bad. Much harder to find things. Really feels like the design went backwards instead of iterating forward. The iPad app no longer takes advantage of the extra space with a better layout and is just a stretched version of the phone app too.

this app really helped me to realize that my mind was so preoccupied with work related thoughts or bills or the kids and it was actually affecting our intimacy. I have learned how to really just focus on my intimate time with my husband and leave everything else out of my mind at the time. I’m excited to go further in with the exercises and advice this app has to offer.

What’s the point of telling me the notifications will be SFW when the first notification says there’s new content that will turn me on? Either don’t send SFW notifications or don’t tell me you will if you won’t.

Other than that Coral has already taught me things and helped me gain some insight despite not using it very long. I do recommend it.

I've attempted multiple times, but for some reason, I just get stuck on the turn on notifications screen. It's like the buttons don't work, and I can't move forward. If i attempt the reset Coral or my phone, I have to go through all of the opening questions each time only to get stuck on the same screen.

In general we really love this app and have enjoyed using it, but I’ve noticed since the “schedule with partner” button has been rolled out, I can’t actually use it. A pop-up will come up with a date and a time, but there’s nothing that lets me actually hit “schedule” and it won’t let me scroll. This has been going on for months now, and I’d really love to be able to actually schedule activities.

My first review disappeared so I’m writing it again in a less fun way. This is basically a series of articles and offers very little (if any) new or novel information. The people behind this app are trying, and i appreciate the sex positivity. but I can’t find ANY reason to pay for this as a product or a service. Y’all are trying to be too cute and it’s jarringly unsexy. You lost me at “... slay your sex life.” And that never ending quiz to find my sexy personality. i might have finished i’d you had given a progress bar but I had to bail after 20 (or was it 30) questions.

I downloaded Coral thinking it wasn’t going to teach me anything new, and boy was I wrong! I love Coral, it’s been a godsend during the pandemic and beyond. The information, support and community has been crucial to helping me grow as a person. There are some kinks here and there, but they are always on top of it and ready to help. My only complaint is that this app wasn’t in my life sooner!

I am a survivor of sexual abuse and have always struggled with sex and intimacy. I have been in therapy for ten plus years. While I would still strongly recommend therapy to anyone, nothing has helped me the way this app has. My partner and I are forever grateful to the creators for putting together such thoughtful and helpful exercises. You have completely changed our lives.

They say that ignorance is bliss, but I never realized that beyond that comes powerful pleasure! And with the knowledge and insights I personally gained from this app, I can say that confidence and pleasure are sooooo much better than ignorant bliss! It gets to core, instead of other apps I tried that only offered cheap fixes that never helped in the long term. It is great to be a part of the community Coral provides and have the support of other members.

I really thought I had a low-libido problem, but turns out I just didn’t understand what I needed in order to experience my desire. I really can’t explain the difference Coral has made in my life, and for me it was nice to have the comfort to have vulnerable conversations and explore concepts at home than in the office of a sex therapist.
