The workouts are great overall. Jon Halloran is my fave instructor. The issue is that PlankkStudio itself is one of the worst apps on my phone. I have a newer iPhone, but it is sluggish and crashes. The way PlankkStudio is laid out is bizarre and not intuitive. There’s an emphasis on live classes, but the real value for me is in the library of classes I can access on demand… when I can find the one I want. When I’ve signed up for live classes, it doesn’t notify me when the are starting and doesn’t integrate with my calendar, so I forget about them. Also, as some other reviewers have pointed out, the way the female instructors are depicted makes them look more like porn stars than fitness instructors. It’s uncomfortable at best; not a tasteful or respectable approach IMHO. For these reasons I would not recommend Plankk and I’ve switched over to Peloton myself.

Have to say that many of the videos seem to be designed by a porn studio rather than a fitness one. The highlighted trainers are generally highly manicured women showing off cleavage in skin tight clothing, performing exercises without any background music as the camera zooms in and out, sometimes on parts of them that are not relevant for the exercise (lunges zoomed in on their face and chest for example). Some of the thumbnails for classes highlight the name of the instructor before the type of class and show pictures truly suggestive of porn websites, such as an oiled woman wearing a bikini and arching her back over a bench that she is lying on. I haven’t seen a single black trainer on there (and if they are on there they’re certainly not being highlighted). Definitely not designed for women.

Downloaded PlankkStudio to workout at home during quarantine, I have only been able to actually get it to open once. It says it’s “setting up the studio” for over five minutes before I give up, I shouldn’t have to wait that long for an app to load

The first week I tried use PlankkStudio there were so many glitches that I was never able to complete a workout. When I went to unsubscribe so as not to be charged for the month PlankkStudio wasn’t on my subscriptions under my Apple account. I presumed that maybe because PlankkStudio was such a huge failure that it hadn’t properly subscribed me either. It turns out that the only thing that works on PlankkStudio is how it charged me for a subscription that I cannot even use. Please someone take care of this, I do not want to be billed further and I can’t unsubscribe from PlankkStudio because it doesn’t appear where it should on my subscriptions! And refund now. Horrible experience!

PlankkStudio takes forever to load, and then you usually get an “error timed out” message. Especially when looking at the library of in demand classes.

I need to use the library of classes so I can work out on my own schedule. And they do not load anymore. I have contacted Plankk support several times about this since early September, and they keep telling me to wait for an update. We are now two weeks into November and PlankkStudio is still broken and useless.

I have even logged out and deleted PlankkStudio completely off my phone and reinstalled it from PlankkStudio Store and logged back in and that has not solved any problems.

I love working out with John Halloran and they have not updated any of his classes in the library since late July/ early August—so “last week at Plankk studio” really means “three months ago”

Download PlankkStudio when BSC game is a subscription ( because they were continuing to charge) us. I logged into PlankkStudio and went to go use it that evening and PlankkStudio just keeps trying to open. I have tried at least twice a day at different times each day and no luck, just “Hang tight, we’re setting up the studio” even after waiting a good minute each time. Tried using, both, good WiFi and VzW data.

The classes are ok but PlankkStudio isn’t very user friendly. It takes FOREVER to load whenever you open a tab. Some days PlankkStudio won’t open at all unless i try it over and over again. the search feature isn’t great, and there’s no way (that I can see) to edit your schedule once you put a class on there. I saw someone else say this in their review and I have to agree—I’m on here because my gym offered a free membership to PlankkStudio during covid. I would not pay for this.

I wanted to try out a few apps for workouts since I was unable to use my gym membership with COVID. Found this one reviewed somewhere so decided to give it a shot. I was particularly impressed interested in the live classes. I added them to my schedule but nothing happens. I’m not sure if it’s live steamed in PlankkStudio or from a web site, or of maybe there’s an issue with time zones but after 20 minutes of the class saying it’s starting soon, I give up. Total disappointment.

I opened PlankkStudio and the first thing I wanted to do was filter out things I really didn’t want and focus on what I was looking for. There is a search option, which is great but typing in “no equipment” or “bodyweight only” finds no results. Not sure why that’s not possible when “bodyweight only” are words used to categories workouts.

Personalization is so important for apps like these. So many people workout for many different reasons. I see that sections are broken up by different areas of focus for workouts but that’s just not enough. There is is just too much clicking and scrolling through PlankkStudio to find what I need. I would love it if there was a filter option in the nav where I could select specific workouts based on areas of the body, indicate that I have no equipment, select my experience level and length of time in workout. You could even take PlankkStudio to the next level by tracking my workouts, weight, overall progress and include recommendations based off of what I’ve done and what I’m lacking. Health and body goals aren’t just about working out, including nutrition would be mind-blowing (this is really pushing it though lol).

This is just ok. I’m sure the trainers are amazing but PlankkStudio could be soooo much better!! I really hope these ideas will be considered.

Had to laugh at another review and agree... it totally resembles a porn lol!

App is so glitchy that sometimes it’s tough to even complete a workout. Can’t search by category or equipment. Can’t message trainer during live classes. Noticing that there are fewer and fewer live classes compared to when I first signed up in April. Some of the trainers spend so much time talking, warming up, stretching, that you get about a 15-minute workout. With all of this said, I still managed to get decent workouts during quarantine although sometimes I had to do 3 on demand classes back to back to get there.

I got my subscription free when my gym closed due to covid. I wouldn’t pay for PlankkStudio.

I have no problem with the workouts available in PlankkStudio, but my main issue is there is no way to open the workout videos on a computer or desktop (which is the only way for me to get it on my tv)

The instructors and classes are awesome but PlankkStudio is horrible. PlankkStudio takes forever to open. When it does open you can rarely connect your smart TV to PlankkStudio so that you can use your tv for the larger screen. At first I thought it was perhaps my internet or connection but when using Apple TV and or my smart tv with other apps I have no issues. If PlankkStudio can be fixed it would be a 5 star app because the instructors are really that good.

I like the classes and that is why 2 stars but PlankkStudio is so terrible. Worst app on my phone. Crashes all the time, takes like at least 1 minute to start and sometimes will just stop working or in the middle of a session it will crash. Exercising will take +5 min than the class, just to make it work.

And it would not save any of my workouts!

PlankkStudio is fine. I’ve found a couple trainers I like. But you essentially need to be a groupie of one of the trainers/instructors to be able to find anything, which is pretty annoying. It should do a better job of categorizing classes and also offering descriptions of what the classes include.

I like the array of workouts and trainers. I like how there are some for minimum equipment and a mix of home workout tools. I like that trainers are working out and breathing heavy- it’s unifying!

I do find PlankkStudio freezes so I can’t get on all the time

I have a newer phone and close all my apps and removed some to make room for plankk but it’s still not completely reliable

Because there is no music I wonder if I can play my own music throughout. That would be great if I could!

I wish it the search was more intuitive- bonus if we could save searches!

I’m gonna keep trying with PlankkStudio - it has a lot of promise!!

I like the idea of this. The trainers are great and I like that the workouts are quick but give you a great burn. However, it’s very annoying that PlankkStudio is only available on the iPhone and not on the Mac. Using a small screen is next to impossible because you’re trying to observe what the trainer is doing while also trying to do the exercise yourself in correct form. If this could be corrected, PlankkStudio would be much much better.

Which instructor you select.

Also, the segments are short and some Instructors talk too much so it’s a waste of time... precious time.
But again... if you select a good Instructor it will payoff. Hint for a good one= Whitney Johns.

Love PlankkStudio!!! So easy to use and tons of quick follow along workouts I can easily do at home. No excuses and saves time going to the gym. Such a great group of influencers and live the fact I can join the communism’s share progress pics all in app. Looking forward to trying more workouts daily.

I love everything about PlankkStudio; great mix of workouts. I’m extremely excited about this new way to exercise; I have been using for over two months and results are showing. Trainers are beautiful, it does take time to get to know the best trainers.

My gym partnered with Plankk to provide access to its members while gyms are closed. After some initial trouble logging in, I was able to get assistance from PlankkStudio support team. I have enjoyed PlankkStudio and looking forward to using it to keep the at-home workouts from getting boring.

Tried to access a live workout today for a charitable cause and flat out couldn’t get into PlankkStudio . It was either saying wrong password (it wasnt) or it didn’t recognize my account. I ended up missing the live class, which was a real disappointment. There was a replay that got posted, but it didn’t seem like PlankkStudio recognized my account info per the website bc they were trying to charge me again to view the replay. Overall, very disappointing.

I downloaded to do a one time live workout and now I can’t get on.
I just tried to cancel and I keep getting a response saying the email doesn’t match which is BS. I am hoping they don’t try and charge me for more than I paid for

I love that PlankkStudio allows you to input what equipment you have at home, and builds different workouts based on that! I hate starting an online workout and realizing I don’t have what the instructor asks for!!
