No picture would be better than AI pictures. It’s an inaccurate representation of the food/business. When there are limited results nearby it will show you restaurants in other cities made clear only by seeing that it’s 500 miles away. That’s not helpful. I saw a restaurant on VeganFriendly that I’ve been to personally that didn’t have any vegan options, where does this “verification” come from? Happy Cow does this whole thing better. Edit to respond: These excuses don’t really satisfy. We use AI photos cause we don’t have our own, ok well it’s not authentic. You aren’t owed content just because you want it you have to create it and AI content isn’t helpful when it comes to understanding the actual products and food offered by a business. Some areas have limited results so it lists places so far away it’s comical to include it in the results and the response is some areas don’t have many results. Ok that’s just the reality of the situation. Including places that are 500 miles away in a local search just to give your app the appearance of having more results in areas that don’t have that many vegan businesses is misleading. Again you aren’t owed content just because you want it. User based content/user driven app happy cow has been doing this for so much longer and doing it so much better.

Images are AI generated and with a foreign language in the background. Is VeganFriendly just data mining user data? The closest hit to my house offers white rice and broccoli and you have to go to a third-party site to get that info because VeganFriendly doesn’t tell you what makes the choice vegan friendly. VeganFriendly advertised it’s for users who are sick of finding a side of fries as the only vegan friendly option and then does just that. Hard delete. I imagine the 5-star reviews are from VeganFriendly developers.

Wants me to allow notifications and I can not move on unless I do. When I give in and try to turn on notification within VeganFriendly it will not turn on. When I go to my notification in my phone setting and VeganFriendly is not listed .

I don’t know who thought it would be useful to hallucinate gross fake photos of the food?? Just show nothing.

Besides that, it doesn’t even indicate what vegan options a place has. I’m skeptical this is accurate. Not sure why I ought to trust it.

Disappointing. I appreciate the idea, because HappyCow isn’t great, but this is way worse.

Unfortunately I would love to promote vegan resources but I can’t agree with ones that have “Israeli” as one the categories under your map search. You don’t even have a coffee shop category and you’re promoting a genocidal system. Pretty disgusting and I can’t support it.

VeganFriendly has a good concept but every recommendation features AI generated photos in place of pictures of the food or the establishment. I find this very unnecessary because most times the fake images do not even reflect the actual food or restaurant. For instance I got a picture of a retro/sci-fi looking restaurant for Del Taco...really? In the end I have to look up the places online anyways so I find that using VeganFriendly has actually wasted my time. If they improve on this that would make me highly reconsidering my feelings about VeganFriendly (hence the two star review instead of one).

Not any better than googling “vegan options.” VeganFriendly appears to just summarize online content with AI, which does not actually help folks know what the vegan options are on the menu and if that would interest them. Also doesn’t appear to have a difference between vegan options and vegan restaurant. Leaves a lot to be desired that other apps already offer

It would be helpful if you could see the menus of the restaurants

VeganFriendly has helped me find countless restaurants in the 2 months I have had it ! I used to be hungry never knowing where to eat or just choosing the 1 vegan option on any restaurant menu … NOW I HAVE A LIST OF MUST TRY PLACES ! The must try turned to obsessed with each restaurant I chose! I should mention, hitting the 100% vegan button when searching for restaurants is lovely !

I’m so grateful for how much easier it is to know my options where I live and in every city I travel to. I also love it has non vegan restaurants with lots of options for me for when I go out with friends or family. LOVE VeganFriendly!

Thanks to Vegan Friendly I’m finding the coolest vegan shops and restaurants that I’ve never even heard of after living my whole life here. Vegan clothing stores, vegan beauty stores, Vegan hotels! Vegan tours and vegan wines. Vegan everything for free plus no ads! Best app ever

VeganFriendly is amazing and is going to quickly become one of my top used apps! I love all the different functionalities and it makes it so easy to quickly see what’s vegan and nearby!

It’s really hard to find an app just specifically for vegans. I like that this is people based which means we leave the reviews so we know that is genuine.
