- The app does a good job of isolating the subject before applying the blur.
- The two edit tools are useful to tweak the coverage of the to-be-blurred area.
- The app has good effects.

Unfortunately, I can’t use this because there are no instructions AT ALL.

I tried it on a photo with an evident foreground subject. It could not "detect" it! So, it blurs the entire photo. Useless.

There are no instructions. Tried what few buttons there were. Nothing works. I allowed it to take one photo from my camera roll. Couldn’t do anything with it. I tried to delete that photo, it wouldn’t delete. I took a photo to test Blurbackground . It wouldn’t delete the previous test photo from the roll and couldn’t get the test photo I just took. Worthless. I don’t understand the 5 star reviews. I have to wonder if they’re paid reviews?

Blurbackground doesn’t work, it’s hopeless.

Got Blurbackground to utilize but very non intuitive interface to use and figure out. Got the paid version expecting better. Don’t waste your money or time.

Extremely long lag when opening photos, doesn’t recognize objects, unresponsive, etc.

I like how photos come out but there needs to be an option to go back and start a new pic. App has to be closed out after each edit to start a new one

Blurbackground is not compatible with iPad looks bad. Blurbackground is imprecise. you can't adjust the level of blur.

Blurbackground does a pretty good job of isolating the subject before applying the blur, and the two edit tools are useful to tweak the “coverage” of the to-be-blurred area. The problem is the sharpness “fall-off” from the subject’s sharp edge to blur should be more gradual, not so abrupt from sharp to blur, regardless of the amount of blur setting.
The effect looks its best if the amount slider is used minimally, and avoiding a heavy-handed max blur approach. In my particular image test, I needed an “appropriate amount” of maximum blur applied to background objects of varying degrees of distance from the subject, but the end result looked exaggerated and “obvious” as the fall-off went abruptly from sharp to max blur over the entire image. Everything was the same level of blur.
To real life the “depth of field” of wide aperture lenses, the transition is very subtle/gradual, going from sharpness to blur in front and in back of the subject, a very difficult effect to mimic in post processing.
Another suggestion, making Blurbackground Universal to facilitate better edits using an iPad would be an improvement. Blurbackground works OK on the iPad, but there is a lot of wasted screen real estate.
A very good effort that will work pretty well for some images if used sparingly, but could use additional improvements.

Couldn’t see the full potential when it became aggravating to use.

Good app and effects. Only big problem is it sometimes fails to identify an object, which is required to blur the background.
Also has trouble with multiple depth pics, such as when shooting a person with her hands forward, holding an object: the object isn’t recognized and the effect fails.
If it updates to AI improve and adapt to better iPhone cameras and iOS 15 then this could be a great app.
Until then it’s 3.5-to-4 stars.

Not impressed. Not intuitive.
I allowed access to my photos. Could not figure out how to blur the background on it. The photo was shown at the bottom but never “loaded” into the work place. I tried to click it several times
When I used the camera to take a photo there is no icon to discard your work. Probably the only way to do so would be to save your photo (even though it may not be what you want).
Had Blurbackground less than an hour. Uninstalled
