Recent update tricks you into opening ads.

I used to love this app, but in the past few weeks, something has changed. It’s almost impossible to scroll through the news now without accidentally opening annoying advertisements. I don’t have this problem on any other news app. On other news apps, if you touch and then release an ad because you’re just scrolling down the page, the ad doesn’t open. In this app, no matter how your finger lands on an ad — scrolling or stationary, short tap or longer touch— it opens up a web page.
VNExpress is a great source for local news, but because of this issue, which tricks users into opening unwanted ads, I have started going to other publications instead. I appreciate the fact that many news organizations and app developers need to earn money from advertising revenue, but there are far less irritating and sneaky ways to do it than this.
The other issue I wish developers would fix is the “Most Read Stories” section. The list of stories changes so quickly that in the split second that you try to tap on a headline, it changes to a different article.

A great source of local news in English with
updated covid case information. Although, I can't seem to connect any accounts to leave comments so that's a minor issue. But they serve pretty interesting articles with an easy-to-navigate UI.
