This has been my main gacha for a while now, and it keeps me coming back. There is actually a pretty small roster of characters (IMO) but they are all useful in various ways, so there are no completely garbage characters. The gameplay is complex (each unit is comprised of both a hero and soldiers that have their own separate training trees and attack timing/unique abilities), and PVE levels have a nice difficulty curve where I never felt like it was a cakewalk. The PVE levels do become very difficult, and the only way to progress is to spend time grinding and building up your characters. Even when you pull a top-tier PVE SSR, that character won’t do much for you until you invest a lot of time and resources into it. The game is very generous with giving you what you need to pull for characters. You can easily get a thousand free pulls in your first several months of progression, and with a 2% SSR rate and strategic use of focus banners, it won’t take long to get most of the SSRs. There are 3 different levels of PVP, and the highest level is really deep and satisfying, involving live PVP with a pick/ban phase (kind of like a draft) where you both bring 15 units to the table and settle on a 5 vs 5 battle. It’s good motivation for all the grinding. Theres also some live co-op PVE. There is limited sweeping to speed up your dailies, but you will also probably let your phone go on auto battle while you do something else when you’re in full grind mode. Finally, I’m a fan of the story. I feel there’s a good balance of serious and goofy moments (but definitely a lot more of the later). The story does get complicated as there’s a lot of jumping around between the main story and doing flashbacks to the past this app games, and then the flashbacks even go into alternate timelines, but there’s a lot of lore to explore. Furthermore, almost every character has their own series of backstory missions.
