Bad Experience, Lost Everything

I worked with DisneyCollectbyTopps for a couple years or more. I collected many cards and sets. I had even collected all of the newest base sets along with other popular sets and had finally started to collect several jewels to go along with millions in coins. One day DisneyCollectbyTopps restarted on me and I was forced to sign in to DisneyCollectbyTopps but when I did I lost everything on my account and was restarted with no cards at all and about 57,000 coins. I do not think that it is a good idea to restart my collecting when many of the cards that I really liked and had collected will no longer be available for purchase and will be nearly impossible to collect thru trades especially since I now have nothing of value to work to trade with. This was my favorite card app until this happened and has now become my least favorite app which I will never try to use again since the developers could not even help me get my collection back. This makes no sense to me because I have had to re sign into some of the other card collecting apps and have had no problems getting my accounts back with the collection I once had before. The biggest disappointment and let down of an app I have ever experienced. You can join and enjoy DisneyCollectbyTopps if you want to but please realize that you could collect and create a large collection that you enjoy only to one day lose it all in the blink of an eye. To the folks at Disney all I can say is thanks for nothing literally.

Oddsmakers need to go back to school

This is a great app if you are a Disney fanatic. The vast array of collectible digital cards is amazing.

However, the oddsmakers really need to go back to school. I understand that the odds of getting a particular card are sometimes fluid, but man does Topps take huge liberties with that premise. I know sometimes I will get lucky and beat the odds by getting a card inside of those stated odds. I also know that sometimes I will end up opening more packs than the stated odds to obtain a particular card. With that said, when the stated odds are 1:25 it should not take me 89 packs to obtain a card from a particular set. Ever. I just spent 178,000 coins on a card that should have taken me no more than 74,000 to obtain. I would have been okay with 74,000 with each pack costing 2,000 and stated odds of 1:25. 1:89 is completely unacceptable and nowhere even close to 1:25.

I will say that it was my own stupidity for using all of my coins trying to get this particular card as it is only available for 24 hours. It is a small set and looked fairly easy to complete. I am now gold coin broke. Lesson learned I guess. From now on if I don’t receive the card within the stated odds I will just give up on it.

Seriously though, your oddsmakers need to go back to school.

App has many hiccups

Even before the update DisneyCollectbyTopps is very inconsistent performance wise. Let me first say that I have great WiFi and incredible upload/download speeds. That being said, DisneyCollectbyTopps for the most part is extremely slow at different times throughout the day. The Workshop is either great and fast or horrible and slow leaving me to hit craft just to watch the magic circle spin and then have DisneyCollectbyTopps freeze up. I’ve had to uninstall/install DisneyCollectbyTopps many times.

For a company like Disney working with a company like Topps the service should be better! I realize that the platform is huge with many moving parts but these bugs and hiccups need to be worked out. But then again, have you ever used the Disney App while planning a vacation? I go to Disney 2-3 times a year and using their App is the worst part. The Disney App is horrible and had been for at least the last 10 years. It’s never improved. I hope that this platform doesn’t follow that example.

New update made trading hard

Something’s about the new update are fine, but the one problem is that it has made it hard to post in the feed, send trades, and search in the trading screen. First of all, the buttons are way to small, it’s really hard to press not only the buttons on the trade screen but the buttons on the profile page it clicks everything except what I’m trying to click! Second of all, the new thing where the profile place is shrunk up in the top, there is no reason it is like that in the trade screen there is just extra room at the bottom now. Third of all, when you go in to selecting the cards you want to trade, the whole scree moves up. And there is just to much space to look at the cards, when the buttons could be bigger, not to mention, it took me 15 min to find the search button in the trade screen because it’s so small, it can be small if that’s how you feel is right, but it should at least say the word “search” on the blue button again, to make it easier to find. That’s it. But it does make me limit my time trading and ignore the trading missions because of how hard it’s gotten to find buttons and all that.

Confusing STILL

Been on here about a month and about to get off! No explanations for anything and no one answers any questions anyone leaves. The cards are beautiful and would like actual cards but won’t be on here much longer unless some explanations happen!!! Update: nothing has changed except there are days that nothing works without constantly restarting my phone and then it will work a few minutes and then can’t exit Arcade or Magic says An Error Occurred. Not my internet because I can do everything else on my phone but the game. Or like I have seen other comments you use 100,000 coins for a common card. I am really starting to feel like it is only a waste of time playing this “game.” You consistently get lower level cards and have even opened packages and got 3-4 of the exact same cards!! I may be there Oder and not really understand but this is just a waste of time!!

Fun when it works but it costs a lot of money as well

Multiple problems getting DisneyCollectbyTopps to work from start. It took a week for a support person to get back and they just gave kindergarten level instructions to fix it. I already got it working 2 days later by then 😡 Continued problems with it working. No instructions on collecting. Users confused constantly. To win awards you have to keep buying coins. When you finally finish a collection you don’t get an award. Does that mean the award period is over? Then why waste time completing the collection. I’ve noticed some people have multiple of the same awards. Then what’s the point to earning an award? If I traded a single after I completed the collection to help someone else out it shows I didn’t complete the collection. ??? Not worth it when you can’t get DisneyCollectbyTopps to work and you already paid lots of money for the diamonds. Have to have the diamonds to get the rare cards.

But I have been obsessed with it when it does work. I will be missing a lot of daily collection because DisneyCollectbyTopps is out for 24 hours 😞

Fun but.... (I’m not the only one)

It’s a great concept and a good start but there are a lot of little issues. I have read many of the reviews on here and almost all day fun but... great until.... could use some work.... good start.... etc. I agree. I enjoy getting news cards, trading is fun, and the art is gorgeous HOWEVER I need to see improvement. It is hard to find which trophies you have earned and collect them. The odds for packs seem arbitrary. I have spent upwards of 120,000 coins on a single pack trying to get any uncommon with 1:3 odds. I want more consistency. The hoarding is fun for those that can but for those of us that didn’t get in at the beginning and don’t want to pay into the game, it’s impossible to get older sold out cards. Some players hoard 10+ copies of a card and ask for insane trades in return or decline altogether. KEEP TRACK OF YOUR IN APP PURCHASES. Every $1 of real money you spend is 10 VIP points in the game. There are tiers that offer special cards and bonuses for a certain amount of points but THOSE POINTS ARE NOT TRACKED IN GAME OR WITH DEVELOPERS. I did a service ticket to ask what tier I am at because I thought I should be gold instead of silver but was told they don’t keep record of my purchases or VIP points so they can’t help me.

Hard to earn coins 😔

I absolutely LOVE this game. I’m so addicted! This game is perfect for people who love collecting and trading. Even Disney fans should snag this game! The only problem is that I’m ALWAYS running out of coins. You definitely can’t play this game for long periods of time without getting stuck. I watch adds, wait for the bonus, make wishes, craft cards into coins (but that takes a day and you don’t get too much), complete missions, etc, but I’m always running out of coins when I’m trying to get a card I don’t have. This is very difficult for new players trying to complete sets. I really recommend adding some ways for players to earn coins, or else it’s just going to be a pay to play game which just ruins the game’s reputation and fun. Other than that, this game is PERFECT!!

Overall, fun. Needs some tweeks

The bad: I hate the trading. There is no way from one screen to see what you have that a trade partner needs or vice versa. It's painful to trade and I just don't do it as a result.

I also dislike the current daily cards...the silhouettes are a complete waste...just my opinion, but who wants the outline of a Disney Character? So that has saved me a full year of collecting those cards, thanks!

The good: most of the artwork and cards are creative and beautiful. Collecting favorite characters is addicting. The number of new series and sets is astounding. The accumulation of currency is well dine and I rarely feel Topps/Disney doesn't provide enough coin. I love the diamond packs and from time to time facilitate collecting by buying some to make collecting easier. That said, I don't feel I have to buy them to play.

More ideas

Hi I love this game this is the second time iv downloaded it and it’s a wonderful game to keep busy with and I wonderful game for collecting cards without spending real money as a super huge Disney fan it’s a great game and I love the art work and details of each card.I do want to pitch a couple ideas for new themed cards for a new game or 2 I would love to see a SpongeBob themed app with SpongeBob cards or just a Nickelodeon themed app for these in general with all the 90’s Nickelodeon cartoons like SpongeBob rugrats Hey Arnold catdog Ect I would definitely love to see one and a Cartoon Network themed on wouldn’t be to bad either I really hope y’all see my review and I really hope you think about making a Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network themed games I would well spend my time on them thank you for making a fun relaxing game.

It’s Okay

It’s cool, I like the styles of some of the cards. I screenshot my favorites if I ever want to change my phone backgrounds. I only deleted it cause my life is just going to be really busy soon and I won’t have the time, going to go back to work, taking care of chickens I’m getting, future family business. And Disney Magic Kingdoms takes up space. If I had an iPad and the room for all of the apps I’ve tried to have on my phone I would download it there. My phone only has so much space. And I noticed DMK was getting laggy again. Since this was the last thing I downloaded figured that might be why. Gave it 4 stars cause it’s an okay app, just collecting cards, using coins in the store for more cards and trading them. Not everyone will trade though. Someone said looking for villains I tried to give them the villains I had and they declined it.

Cool game, but.......

I love the art and the fact that we’re within the family and we’re working together to complete sets. The issue I have is that why does it have to be so difficult to obtain cards? It’s not like they have collectibility value or a huge prize at the end of the rainbow waiting if you complete a set under a certain time limit. People hang on to cards like they are gold, the system hangs on to cards like winning lotto tickets and it gives you repeats like it’s going out of business. I would play it more often but it can frustrating, so i mess with when I’m bored.
All the updates won’t fix the real issue of playability. Game play should be easier and it should make me want to keep coming back, I would even buy in if I thought you’ll have a better experience, which would be messed up for those that don’t buy in.

Love it and highly addicting!

Love this game but it does have some down falls. First off, some packs are available for a month long.. this causes cards to no longer be considered ‘rare’ because of the CC and newer players like myself find it extremely hard to trade for any ‘old’ card. Older players will want your entire collection for one frozen card. If cards will be sold for less time, maybe cc will be lower and we can trade for other cards we’re hunting for? Also, people can be really mean. What you consider valuable may not be what someone else considers valuable. I hate the trade rating system because if someone doesn’t find your trade “fair” they’ll a lot of times leave a mean comment and a one star. Other than this, I love the game. It’s highly addicting and yes...you must spend money on diamonds for better odds and I’m okay with that as long as fellow players are kinder :)

Addicted to Collecting

If you love Disney, and especially collecting stuff, you’ll love this game! I don’t think of it as a game though, I feel it is part of my Disney collection! I didn’t find DisneyCollectbyTopps until it had been out for months, so collecting the older cards is part of the fun. It has quickly become my go to during quiet time and entertainment.
Most of the cards are really cute, and some of the artwork is actually beautiful. I may print out some of them and display them in my home, when I figure out how to print them, lol. If you don’t mind spending some money, you can grow your collection fairly quickly, but otherwise it’s all free. Lastly, there are missions for finishing complete sets in a certain amount of time, and if you meet the mission you receive a bonus card as the prize.

Love this app but couple things

Update: It would also be nice to have more locks available and the ability to filter your collection by unlocked cards.

It would be nice if on your home screen there was a spot by collection, trade, and list with a link to a small note essentially the size you are able to post in the feed where you can tell others a little about what you are looking for in a trade so when you go to offer a trade you can see the wish list and also a small note like “LF: these characters or card sets and FT: xyz and don’t collect: xyz” etc. Also the update has made things run better buuuut now to claim an award you have to click then scroll and find the set and click and click and click. It would be nice if the set with red dot popped/sorted automatically up to the top until the notice was claimed then back in order.

Love it but one thing...

DisneyCollectbyTopps has been a life saver at keeping me entertained during quarantine! There is just one thing I think could improve it, if instead of the arbitrary amount of locks we are given, it would be nice if your lock amount was a percentage of your overall card amount. Like you can lock up to 75% of your total card count. I think we were given 400 locks which seems like a lot at first until you have over 1000 cards. The locks help to see what you want to trade much easier but once you have a larger amount of cards and run out of locks, they become kind of useless. With it being a percentage, you can buy more cards you don’t want to keep to increase the amount of locks you get. Other than that, I love the game- thanks for keeping me busy!

love and hate this game

DisneyCollectbyTopps itself is a great concept and fun. We were excited to download this after attending the D23 expo in 2019. Some of the collections are very beautiful and it does become an obsession to try and obtain the “rare” cards. When I first attempted trading, fans were helpful and eager to assist others in completing their sets. Now there is a weird mix of players that “sell” cards and add more tradable “value” than the game marked rarity values that have been set.

The trading culture of fans is the turn off and if you are a completist you will be spending ALOT of money to fill that OCD. I cannot imagine younger players to be treated fairly by some of the greedy hoarders that dominate the trade feed. Doing the math at what a VIP player would entail for the entire year is 2-3 times of a D23 gold membership for non tangible objects.... yet we Disney fans are suckers for all things Disney and I too will fall victim to keep fueling this addiction 😭😖💸💸💸

Great app if you like trading cards.

I’m a huge fan of trading cards, for two reasons: 1. The feeling of a good bartering system, and 2. Having sets of cards that look nice. That’s where DisneyCollectbyTopps excels! The sets here are really cool, and the award card is often worth it! Usually in the other Topps apps (i.e. Marvel, Star Wars, etc...) you’re only looking for individual cards and/or characters, since collecting all the cards in the individual sets are often not worth your time. But in this Disney Topps app the cards look good enough that they encourage you to collect the sets, not just the characters or individual cards; but the whole set, since the award card is worth it. The only down side is that once the date of an award passes, there is no other way to get that award but through trading, and more often than not, people won’t give up the award card, so you’re stuck. Even if you’re new, you cannot get the award card on your own, Topps should give newcomers a chance to collect old sets.

Fun trading card App & community forum

Great digital trading card app that’s well run & has LOTS of fun content for Disney lovers of all ages. There are lots of daily free offerings for kids or those who don’t want to invest cash into the game, as well as higher valued (super rare) cards that can be purchased and awards to earn for the more serious collectors. The great thing is you can always try to trade with another member to get a card you want if you’re not able to “purchase” it.

There is new content released daily as well as fun events like watch parties for Disney movies and “playoff” style voting events with free cards and other rewards. The designer also does a great job of appealing to Disney fans of all ages and genres from classic original artwork of the 1st feature films to bright colorful Fab five to NBC to live action films to Disney afternoon shows from the 90’s to The Muppets to Steamboat Willie… if you like Disney, you’ll find something you like.

Packs are always listed with odds (ie 1:10) and it can be frustrating when you’ve opened 30 or 40 packs without finding the card you’re looking for, but overall, there are enough free coins and card packs to make up for it. Still lots of fun and beautiful artwork to enjoy without the bulk of a physical card collection that could quickly get out of hand :)
