Thank you for this amazing site that has actually hurt me

Thank you for this wonderful site made of love and volunteerism. I have tried for a year to access groups and articles. The more I saw, the more support I saw I could receive and provide to others, the harder I tried to wait until later to access broken links or to open TheMighty at all, or to work on the website where I filled in Join questionnaires over and over, only to be maddeningly unable to fully access the submit button and join in. My phone and computer are fairly new with up-to-date operating systems. I’m reasonably adept as an operator. I’ve tried to open the website on my computer and have been unable to access my correct profile and saved information. I receive tantalizing emails with so much promise to comfort, only to see The Mighty’s screen page freeze my phone, and after reinstalling, rebooting my phone for months, I am so frustrated, trying to use the Mighty is wasting my time, alienating me, driving me crazy, actually harming me. It seems certain to me that you must be at least somewhat aware of the grave technical problems on the site. I would like you to know how they are affecting an individual and likely many others. I don’t want to give up, but it’s getting to the point that I might have to. Thank you again for the amazing project that is the Mighty. If this is the best it can be, I completely understand.

The only social media app worth anyone’s time!

I am almost 42 have not been on Facebook Instagram Twitter ever and iPhone Facebook to be evil incarnate in a destroyer of our society and my sister sister has been trying to get me to join Facebook to connect with people like myself that have multiple medical conditions but I’ve tried a few times in at number one overwhelms me and number two I just have such hatred of it IDidn’t think it was the benefit was worth the nastiness and hatred that it spews so when I read about this online I was so excited that there was actually a social media app for people with medical conditions and immediately texted everyone I knew about it. I think that it is exactly what Facebook should have been or maybe hoped to do in the beginning is to connect people that felt alone and I think it’s so badly needed especially because our country’s broken medical health system! Thank you to “The mighty!” Creators and participators for giving people a place to go when they feel like they’re alone lost in our medical system you’re my heroes!!!!🤩🥳🥰

Could be so great!

Could be a life saving, best app in humanity, but, you can’t navigate it easily. I can’t find where the articles are unless they pop up on my Facebook feed. But if I go to TheMighty I just get the comments from everyone for every ailment. It would be great if you clicked on the ailment and it also offered a link to the ailment’s website, or a basic write up of it. So if you are sharing what’s going on with you, or investigating your issue there is the basic facts to come back to. Then branch off to articles that pertain to it and comment sections. Maybe that exists but it’s hard to find. It should be paid for by some non-profit, but so everyone can see it. It is potentially life saving! I do like that it now shows up on other social media so I can tell my friends and parents to follow my diseases. In the past it has been terrible about over emailing you until you shut it all off, but they seem to have fixed that. And I suppose it needs a privacy toggle, where a comment you write in an article doesn’t have your name attached or shown at all if you wish. But you want to encourage people to be honest. Like I said. This has the potential to save people’s lives. Every healthy non-profit who’s disease is on here should donate to keep it going. Keep it simple.

Whoever you are, GET THIS NOW!!

Y'all, TheMighty is so special. There are people from every background and age, and absolutely everyone is super kind and supportive. It's scary to put your deep thoughts and struggles out into the world, but once you do and receive advice or comfort it makes it so worth it. And if posting isn't your thing, there are tons of stories and resources you can find that will help you feel less alone. You can be as anonymous or as open as you want with your profile, there's no pressure to post, all that jazz. The Mighty is especially good for sexuality struggles and mental health; hopefully more groups will be added soon as the user base expands. I can speak from experience in saying as soon as you out your thoughts out there, you'll be met with a rush of relief and gratitude for every individual who reaches out. Whoever you are, download the Mighty now :) !!!

One of the best commu.. apps for individuals w, special differences of all kinds !!!😍☺️

It’s so helpful. Even when I don’t get in regularly, I see the topics I deal w in a daily basis in terms of suffering and struggles. It’s so help fun k to know that there’s a full world out there even if they don’t have the same diagnosis(es), that people can try to understand and empathize w you no matter the situation and then the polls, or posts where they asks you thoughts/options/feelings in a subject, based on no one knowing who you are personally, and what your background of anything is, it’s cool because then you truly get to see a genuine person through all of that and vise versa, people get to see you for who they really are. It’s just an awesome, and helpful app so grateful that you all (developers,) put this out there for people, not to mention the best part it’s free. Thank you so much 🙏🏽

Really good but needs work

I love TheMighty for all the reasons other people have mentioned: The support, the ability to vent, the resources and community. I’ve never written a review before but I really care about this and TheMighty does have some problems. The buttons can be really buggy, and I wish there was an option to message people directly (with an option to not allow people to message you). I think people would really benefit from one-on-one contact. You can’t block people either in any obvious way, not that anyone needs to be blocked that I’ve encountered, but that’s an important feature. I can’t see who’s following me either. If I switch from desktop to TheMighty , it doesn’t load any changes quickly. Hashtags are a pain to add on desktop. None of these things stop it from being an enjoyable app, it’s just a bumpy ride. Lots of love.

Active community for folks with chronic illnesses

I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome - a rare congenital disorder - at 41 years of age. It’s frustrating and confusing dealing with being so sick from decades of improper management, and having to advocate heavily for my own health in a world that doesn’t understand my disease, nor act kindly towards invisible disability.

I’m grateful to have found some good resources though, including The Mighty, a user-friendly app that helps bring zebras and spoonies and friends together in a supportive and active online community. While I can’t often participate, when I can I enjoy it. Seeing other people’s struggles and triumphs helps me to feel not so alone in this.

Recommend TheMighty for the chronically ill, and those who want to support them and understand them a little better 🦓♥️🥄

My thoughts on “The Mighty”

This is a fantastic forum it provides a lot of information on a variety of problems. I don’t post often but when I feel my advise may help someone. Or like my current post need a place to let off steam which has been rare. I presently have a Doctor conflict and do not know what to do. I have gone to a pain clinic for ten years but with the retirement of the Doctor we now have a new one who I sense has little compassion. Not many places to choose from without long travel. But this forum has taught me a lot. It’s helped me get over the stigma of being dependent on pain meds, helped me find a balance of my need vs too much which I do not want. I’ve recommended The Mighty to many friends and family. Thank you.

A MUST have app for anyone who is going through health issues.

A MUST have app for anyone who is going through health issues. TheMighty gives you a way to reach a community of people who uplift each other through the tough times, and celebrate with you during the good. TheMighty itself gives you easy access, and is easy to navigate. Thank you so much for creating a safe space to share my experiences with, without fear of judgement. And for me to have the opportunity to reach out and help others. It gives me the chance to connect with others who understand what I’m going through. I can ask questions, post a thought, a story, or just soak up knowledge. Most of all it helps me know, that I’m not alone.

Being able to not feel alone

I can go on The Almighty site and say what ever is on my mind and there is no one to judge, but you find so many people who feel exactly like you and your not alone. Well we are never alone I do believe in God and his son Jesus Christ and I pray a lot but as my mama says “this world is the devils playground and it’s rotten to the core but one day I will not have to suffer anymore “ but she certainly doesn’t want me to go before her she calls the natural order of things that parents should never have to bury their children. Anyway the site is like therapy for me I have really felt better since this site and I had never posted anything on line before that’s how comfortable you feel

Greatly Appreciate This Community!

Thank you to the sponsors, editors and - it goes without saying - to the courageous members of The Mighty for sharing, caring, baring their souls and - most importantly - baring their souls by telling their stories here day in and day out . . . though, if many are like me, I would be willing to wager a box of favorite herbal tea or maybe essential oil . . . dare I throw in a diffuser??? . . . that a significant portion of writing/posting is done in the wee hours - say between 1:00 am and 5:00 am when we Outliers are unable to sleep!

The only issue I have at the moment is a technical glitch: I have wanted to update my story in my Personal Info section and twice it has timed out and I have lost the entire update! I think I need to do it in pages and then paste it in.

I would love to become a contributor. But until my story is "current". If would be fruitless. I also could find no tech support. I do not have a working computer at the moment - just an iPhone.

Thank you so much for this wonder community, app and site for education, camaraderie, networking, creative expression, and even kvetching!

I am back

Let’s see how long this works for me. I feel a need for this type of expression outlet. We shall see the outcome.
I wanted to start a blog especially after I lost out big time on something recently that I think if I had posted my upset the outcome would have been different. This upset would have been best shared with members of this type of community rather than people who have had no experience w people w anxieties.
I am still very upset about the outcome I experienced. Time will tell if posting a blog type account may help me in the future. I have a therapist, but even w her assistance I was still upset w the result.

A wonderful app, but some accessibility problems for people with physical disabilities.

I love the mighty and I’m so grateful that there is an app where we can all come together and support one another now. Unfortunately TheMighty is difficult to use at least for me. I am blind and I use a screen reader on my iPhone called voice over, the screen reader allows me to hear what is on the screen under my fingertips and it is very leggy with TheMighty. I also have cerebral palsy which makes it hard for me to type using the on screen keyboard so I dictate a lot. These two disabilities combined with the added lag Challenge of TheMighty makes it extremely hard to participate in conversations with others and/or respond to comments, post thoughts, etc. i’m not really sure why TheMighty behave this way, but I hope it improves over time.

A Community of People with Any Physical or Mental Conditions

I’m disabled with a number of serious life-threatening conditions. I’ve tried to find a place like The Mighty, where I can talk to others who understand what I’m going through. The popular social media sites cover many topics.

The Mighty is very different. It is a social media site with one purpose - give people with physical or mental illnesses a safe place to go. A place with numerous Communities to choose from. Join as many as you want. There are no fees for anything.

I found The Mighty recently and am already checking in every day. As you can tell, I highly recommend it.

Insightful conversation

I just discovered this awesome group. I am the author of “Someone Like Me” Restoration Through Christ. It was published in 2016 after my precious 21 year old grandson went to Heaven. I have battled depression for many years and prayed for the time that sufferers of this disease can have a platform to address our journey. No one but those suffering with disease can understand the toll it can take on your life. I am also a three time survivor of breast cancer and have volunteered with Reach to Recovery to counsel with survivors. I’m not trying to “blow my own horn.” I am just excited about this site and how it can minister to so many people! God Bless, In His Service, Teresa Sikes

Makes sense of mind/body connections

I love hearing that I am not alone in my sometimes baffling physical manifestations of my current state of mind.
Knowing that I am truly not crazy is comforting. Our bodies can and do react differently to almost constant stress.
I haven’t been able to understand why my body is so terribly tired following an intense period of stress. I too, always have a pulse rate of 9-110. I am even on anxiety meds.
Most of the time, I can’t keep up with my
housework and laundry. I am raising 2 Grandchildren of which one is extremely draining. Thank God for this site!

This app is incredible but there are bugs to fix

Having The Mighty community in my pocket like this is invaluable. I love how easy it is for me to share my thoughts and interact with others who need help or advice. It’s the most positive social media app I have and it makes a huge difference in my life. But there are a lot of bugs that need to be addressed. At least on the iOS side, I can’t ever click on “see more” when someone writes a lot. It’s also a 25% chance that I can click on “follow” on someone’s profile. I also have issues sometimes when writing longer posts with clicking around inside it. I hope some of these things can be fixed!

Great way to feel connected to others !!

I have had chronic pain for 10+ years now, including torn hip labels, and subsequent surgeries ( including failed surgeries), illiopsoas tendon operation, many back injections for pain, migraines, gall stones, high cholesterol and blood pressure, hypothyroid, gall stones and have gone through the typical family dysfunctions. Even with all of this, I keep feeling MIGHTY when I can connect with others to commiserate or to encourage. This site has been a blessing in my life, particularly when I haven’t been able to leave the house.

Its so nice to be able to have TheMighty!! Share it with family and friends who may not understand what you are going through. It will educate them and help them to understand what you are going through! Its a great way to remind yourself that you are not alone! 🤗

Just downloaded this not too sure

TheMighty is already freezing and crashing on me like crazy no matter how many time I’ve restarted it (and reinstalled.) I had to make about 7 attempts until, I finally got the right order of information input in, before TheMighty crashed, and I could make my first post. Though, I made a comment on the first day I downloaded TheMighty and it’s completely vanished from my app. The structure of TheMighty and features within is also lacking in the interface. It was a bit disappointing when I was browsing through and discovering what I could and couldn’t do and how TheMighty did and didn’t flow. This is a great concept app and has a lot more potential from where it’s currently at.

Best app and organization ever

The mighty generally is so great for people who suffer with mental health problems. So true and relatable. So many times how I felt has been written into words that I could never explain myself but when someone else is able to, it’s a sigh of relief. Many times The Mighty has saved my life and I am forever grateful. Some amazing individuals that run The Mighty. It just got better too when I found TheMighty . Makes the content more easily accessible. If I’m feeling low, it’s a click away. So great! I just have too many good things to say!

Love Everything About It! There’s Just One Issue...

I really love TheMighty and its community. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn’t stay open when I lock my phone. I’ll be reading a post and then have to go do something so I have to lock my phone. But when I turn it back on to resume reading, TheMighty has completely quit and when I reopen it, it hasn’t saved my place and it’s almost impossible to find the post I was reading again. I really hope this can get fixed!

A beautiful app, and a beautiful concept.

I loved The Mighty’s newsletters for awhile before TheMighty came out. I enjoyed reading them and found some really good support within The Mighty community. But with TheMighty , I’ve been able to connect directly to other community members in a way I wasn’t able to before, and it’s made of the whole platform all that more accessible to me. This is a beautiful, fluidly designed app, fit for the community it supports. We are here for you, and as Freak would say, Stay Mighty. ❤️❤️

Wow! I never imagined how this would change my life

What an amazing, supportive and uplifting experience, just joining The Mighty website/app. I find myself referencing something that I read, or an encouragement someone sent on a weekly if not daily basis. It’s helped me explain things (like my anxieties) to my partner, family, friends and even complete strangers. I always feel like I have a support group/family when I’m on The Might. And it’s FREE! I am so glad I found TheMighty when I did.
