I previously used the bus system in another big college town, and while it was not great, it easily and accurately reported exactly when the bus would arrive (even with delays).
Oftentimes I am walking to a bus stop with a reported departure time of 8:35, and on my way there, at 8:32, I have seen the bus just drive on past the stop. I have resorted to getting to the stop 10 minutes early, however, this often results in a 15-minute waiting time as the buses also arrive 5-7 minutes late at least two times a week.
I would be fine with the inconsistency in the bus arrival time if MyCityBus were better with real-time bus tracking and proper reporting of the unpredictable bus schedule. Luckily I have a car, but feel for those without a vehicle who rely on MyCityBus to get to work/class everyday.

If I could give MyCityBus negative stars I would. The times are always off! I never know when the bus will actually come. It will say 10 minutes and I’ll walk outside just in time to watch it go past the stop. I guess this is their solution to the buses being overcrowded.

MyCityBus makes it hard for you to view bus route and manage the campus routes. Double Map did a much better job, MyCityBus is just confusing and not well thought out.

why tell me a bus will be at the stop i’m at in 5 minutes just for it to actually take 35 minutes to get there

I needed city bus to get to class today in the rain. It showed a route from a stop near me. It was backtracking from the direction of my class a couple minutes to get to the stop, but it’d still be quicker. I walked to the stop and was almost there... just in time to see the bus pull away from my stop two minutes earlier than MyCityBus said it would even arrive. I waited at that stop for 15 more minutes for the next bus 13, and when bus 13 got there, I flagged the driver down. She shook her head at me and refused to stop... at the stop for bus 13 that MyCityBus suggested next to a bus 13 stop sign. Seriously?? So then I had to walk further than if I’d just walked to class in the first place, was in the rain twice as long, AND was late to class. Thanks CityBus!

MyCityBus just doesn’t work anymore. Even tried reinstalling still gives a server error. Even when it worked properly it was still a terrible app.
by Spyser64
App is usually inaccurate for bus delays and sometimes won’t even display times at all. Has made me wait for 30+ min bc of inaccuracy. Debug and update it if you want a real bus stop app....
by Katriel.marks
App will not even load if your phone is in Spanish (or any other language, presumably) which is a major issue for an area with so many international students and residents.

MyCityBus is so confusing. I’ve gotten lost countless times; stranded sometimes. It says routes and closed when they aren’t, says routes are opened when they aren’t, doesn’t have the correct items listed, & the bus drivers are so rude. This company is garbage!
by Mhmd95
It always lags, connecting issues, inaccurate bus times, i have to re-open MyCityBus multiple times to work.

Honestly. The only use for MyCityBus is to have a map of the routes. Yet that isn't always even useful. The times and postings are almost always wrong. Furthermore, routes change on a daily basis and MyCityBus doesn't reflect these changes. You're better off getting a schedule for your preferred route and just going off that. MyCityBus is completely useless.

This bus tracking app is awful and inaccurate. The times posted are always behind as the bus drivers are always ahead of schedule and so you miss the bus!!!! I’ve also had incidents where MyCityBus will show the time and location of the bus’s next stop and the bus FAILS TO STOP to pick up. I have been stranded on campus for over an hour before because of this😡 MyCityBus and the city bus system needs major improvement.

MyCityBus is great in concept but terrible in execution. The bus drivers themselves will tell you- the schedules *and even the routes!* it shows are not at all accurate. The one useful feature is being able to see where the bus actually is in more or less real time. I really don’t understand why someone doesn’t just fix the programmed schedules to match the actual ones. My advice- get the brochures with the actual schedules for the routes you want to use and just use MyCityBus for the location piece…

MyCityBus is honestly horrible. If you want to catch the bus you better get outside 10-15 minutes earlier than MyCityBus says. Live tracking on app is horrendous and will make you think you have time to get to the stop and a moment later you see the bus driving past the stop. The people that run MyCityBus need to realize that people have schedules and need to be places at a certain time. This is an app that is supposed to focus on city bus and to help their customers use their product and MyCityBus is not much help. If you want people to benefit from MyCityBus I suggest that you guys update it because this is terrible.

The timing on MyCityBus is wildly inaccurate. I’ll be getting ready for school and keeping an eye on it, it’ll say all morning the bus is due to arrive around 8:25. I’ll plan on getting to the bus stop at 8:15. At 8:13 I’ll be walking out the door and see the bus driving away. Other times, I’ll go rushing out the door because it says the bus will arrive in 3 minutes. By the time I get to the bus stop, MyCityBus says that 3 minutes is now 7 minutes which turns into 10 minutes. So then I’m waiting outside often in the heat or in the cold wind or rain with no bus shelter to stand under. I get that things happen which can affect when the bus arrives but MyCityBus needs a serious overhaul.

MyCityBus is without any doubt the worst app I have had to use for such a purpose. Ever since an update to MyCityBus in the end of January MyCityBus has not functioned on my phone and despite seeking help through Citybus I have not received any information.
The buses are too inconsistent to not have an app and with MyCityBus not functioning it has become quite a problem. Such problems hardly occurred with Double Map.

MyCityBus worked for one day before completely failing. Upon opening it is blank. Apparently this was an issue 3 years ago according to another review. It’s pretty absurd the developers have yet to fix these problems

When I open MyCityBus there is a runtime error. I have an iPhone X with iOS 13.1.3. Please fix this, thank you!
I have used MyCityBus on my previous phones with no problem and I loved it, so that’s why I’m giving 3 stars.

It mostly is correct with times and bus location, however, a few of the stops are missing. MyCityBus with frequently says that “there are no busses planned to stop here” or something to that extent when there are busses that will arrive on that route and for whatever reason they don't show up. For a basic app, it gets the job done but there could be a lot of improvements made in future updates.

I actually liked MyCityBus until it stopped working for me entirely. The tracking is close to accurate, gives you a lot of good options for planning trips etc and lets you view the upcoming arrival times by bus or by stop. However, my app went totally white last week and has yet to return. I have deleted and reinstalled MyCityBus 3 times now with no luck. So I guess I can no longer use it which is really unfortunate. Hopefully this is resolved sometime soon.

My bus app hasn’t been working for weeks. I tried deleting and redownloading but I open it and it’s blank.

MyCityBus has the potential to be useful and already has more features than were available in DoubleMap. A few suggestions for improvements:
-It’s annoying having to reselect the routes every time I open the map. In the old DoubleMap app, I could have the map always display the same routes. Maybe the map could be set to, by default, display the routes that I’ve listed as favorites?
-Listing stops as favorites does not seem to be useful for anything. Maybe a page that has a list of “favorite” stops with a timetable of buses arriving would be helpful.
