Be different!!!!!

I appreciate that ConjuGato provides conjugations with verb tenses, just like all the other apps out there. However, I noticed a significant gap in allllllll of these apps: the absence of the actual English translations alongside the conjugated verbs. Including translations would make it much easier to understand and memorize the tense conjugations. For instance, in the future tense section, it would be beneficial to see phrases like "I will speak" or "you will speak" directly paired with the corresponding conjugations. This simple addition would greatly enhance the learning experience. Currently the user has to memorize what each tense means in order to know what the word in each tense category means. Please make this easier for us!!!

No other apps offer this feature, so I encourage you to differentiate your app by implementing it. It could significantly improve usability and effectiveness for users. Thank you for considering this suggestion!

And when you make this insanely simple change…. I will change my rating to 5 stars because you will have a feature that I cannot find in any other apps

Amazing bank of verbs & conjugations, but potential for improvements

I’m a newer user of ConjuGato, and bought the “Pro” version because this is really the only app that has such a great database of Spanish verbs and all their conjugations that is interactive (rather than just a searchable dictionary). I love that you can be quizzed on the verbs and that there’s customizability of what tenses you want to be quizzed on. However, there really needs to be “correct” and “wrong” buttons available after the conjugation answer is shown regarding whether you got the answer to the conjugation correct, and have ConjuGato adjust how often it shows you those verbs based on that. If ConjuGato could somehow adapt and incorporate the concepts of other flashcard algorithms such as Anki into ConjuGato so that it’s closer to true “spaced-repetition” to maximize learning these verbs, then it would be perfect!

Very good; wishing for a bit more

Easy to use and customize right from the start! Two things I’d like to see: first, I find it odd that reflexive verbs aren’t in ConjuGato . Some of the translations are inaccurate without being reflexive and I worry about drilling in bad habits I’ll need to unlearn.

Second, I *really* wish that there was an option to conjugate from the English translation instead of/in addition to “infinite + [verb tense]”. While practicing verb drills I find it’s very easy to slip into autopilot mode, pattern-matching conjugations with the tense, without feeling like I’m truly internalizing the meaning of the conjugated verb. (As a B1 speaker this is the hump I’m trying to get over: I can conjugate correctly as a purely grammatical exercise, but esp. when listening I’m more or less only recognizing the infinitive root and guessing at the meaning from context). It would be way more valuable to prompt, say, “he would have eaten,” “we shall listen,” “I was talking,” &c. It would make ConjuGato indispensable!

The developers have noted from other reviews that adding example sentences is an almost impossible undertaking—that I understand. But, integrating just the English verb table translations would make ConjuGato so much more powerful! Hope to see it in the future.

Small startup app, Big potential!

ConjuGato has a learning curve, if you don’t already have some vocab in your head, than ConjuGato will be difficult at first! After emailing the makers (and getting a nice response in return the next day) i purchased the full app! I realized I needed to get my conjugation endings up in order to overcome my issues. Now that I’m in a better position, I really like ConjuGato I really enjoy that I can customize what I’m studying based on what I think I need, and if I need a reminder then I tap the word and it takes you (almost) to the correct tenses every time. I still find it finicky when a progressive tense is viewed, you need to click over to that tab each time. I also wish you could see the words you’ve already gone through for the day, currently it’s just a bar that says “Daily Goal X/X” but maybe a clickable function to that bar to review would be nice!

Keep it up! Will update this rating as ConjuGato updates!

Fantastic app

I love ConjuGato so much. It makes practicing conjugations so seamless and fluid. There aren’t a lot of language learning apps out there that are useful for both beginners and advanced students, but this one is. I also appreciate that it doesn’t bombard you with ads or make you sign up for a subscription service. The stickers are also super cute and a sweet touch. :)

My only suggestion is I wish I could enable daily practice reminder notifications. They don’t have to be as frequent and intrusive as Duolingo notifications: the option to even get one a day would be really helpful for me personally as I’m a pretty forgetful person and would like to make using ConjuGato a daily habit.

A must buy..

Forget duolingo, babel, etc. just buy the premium version of ConjuGato. Create a study card for verb tense conjugations and go to town with ConjuGato. I learned more in a weekend about how the Spanish language actually works than I did with a year of duolingo. ConjuGato is seriously a game changer if you are looking for an app to assist in studying.. and not looking for a cheesy game app like duolingo that you barely need to have your brain on to use. Seriously, couple ConjuGato with flash cards that you make yourself, a study sheet for verb conjugation tenses, and maybe a work book to study sentence structure and then you will actually learn Spanish.

Amazing

One of the best Spanish self studying app you can find in ConjuGato store. I love how it doesn't forcibly require users to type out the answer to check the answer, it SAVES TIME when you only have a scatter of time in the day for Spanish learning. It's amazingly user-friendly as a language-learning app, however, I still have a little problem while using: can you try to find a way to allow pages being turned back? Cuz I found it a little disturbing when you can only keep learning forward but not getting a chance to page back to see what you've just learnt. It'll be wonderful if you can solve this problem. Thank you for developing ConjuGato .

Nifty little app/game for learning verbs!

I only downloaded (and upgraded) this sweet little app a week or so ago, but it’s already shot to the top of my favorite Spanish language learning apps. Knowing which verbs are irregular is so important for mastering Spanish. I love that I can control how many verbs it drills me on and in which tenses. This allows me to focus on the particular tenses that we’re studying in class at the time. The more I dig in the settings, the more great features I find. What a fun tool for such an important learning goal. So worth the very affordable $5.99! Thank you, this app!

P.S. I’m using it daily over the summer so I won’t fall behind now that classes are out.

Absolutely love ConjuGato

This is exactly what I was looking for. I’ve been living in a spanish speaking country for 9 years and I still fumble all but the basic verb conjugations. There are so many options in ConjuGato for studying verb tenses and types. You can include or exclude whichever tenses you want as well regular/irregular forms, etc. I’m already making progress after just 2 days. Well thought-out design; simple to use. The only thing I’d like to see is a serious spaced repetition ability (where I could chose on a scale from 1-4 how quickly I know the conjugation). I’d pay triple your current asking price! Thank you so much for this incredible work!!

Best verb conjugation app!

I have been learning Spanish for a while and this is the best app available for Learning conjugations.

If you are a new learner or a continuing learning; you will find ConjuGato useful. There are many types of settings that you can change. For example you may turn off Spain conjugation for Vosotros. You are able to look at the conjugation of all forms. It has a frequency list and you are able to change which ones you study. Highly beneficial for studying for exams. It also gives an option to only study irregulars in whatever verb type you want.

Hands down best app. Highly recommended. Go ahead. Try it out!

An amazing app!! Totally worth paying for Pro

I love ConjuGato!! You can select which tense(s) you want to practice, include/exclude the “vosotros” form, filter by regular/irregular and -ar/-er/-ir verbs, answer by typing with +/- indication of errors, and so much more! I especially love that for each card you can click to see a list of all of the conjugations for the verb, with any irregularities highlighted in red. I almost never pay for the Pro version for an app, but after only five minutes I paid because I knew it would be worth it. And it’s only a one-time payment for so much content, which is even better. Thank you to the developer(s) for such a well-made app 🙏🏽

I feel like I’m really learning

ConjuGato has been one of my most used foreign language apps to help me with my Spanish practice. I’m not sure if the developer has made apps for other languages, but even the free version has been very useful, so I’m glad I paid for the pro version to support this developer. I can see this kind of approach to conjugation being excellent for French, Italian, and Portuguese. A suggestion for a future idea may be to have a toggle for studying irregular verbs. When it’s selected, it has the irregular tenses from the top 100 verbs, so that way people may be able to study the most used irregular verbs, practicing the hardest verbs exclusively! Also, since I use it as a quick dictionary for verbs, could there be a toggle to have the search panel always visible in the verbs section? That’s a small change that maybe would just benefit me so I’m not too worried about it.

For Spanish learners, ConjuGato feels like it’s genuinely helpful, unlike many apps that may teach words that aren’t even used every day. Having the top 100 most used verbs for free is really teaching people what they should learn first. So I very much recommend ConjuGato and hope there may be more apps from this developer for other Latin based languages!

Fantastic app

Great interface, efficient - with a multitude of available settings to fine tune your study plan, and highly effective. Put in the practice and you will not only master verb conjugations, but also pick up literally dozens of new verbs in a few days, to improve your reading comprehension.

If you are on the fence, try out the free app and if it works for you then upgrade to pro. For a few dollars - less than the cost of a “1000 verbs” book - you get access to a ton of common and less frequently used verbs, complete conjugations, pronunciations, a self directed tutor, and more!!

ConjuGato will ramp up your Spanish reading and correct speaking faster than any app out there. Great work developers!!!

When you’ve had enough of Duolingo

I used Duolingo for two years until they started forcing what amounts to upsell buttons everywhere for their trendy AI feature for 120 bucks (after I had already paid $80 for a no ads version!) But by then, I had already begun to appreciate Duolingo‘s weaknesses, especially around teaching proper conjugation. Conjugation is generally rule-based, and Duolingo isn’t super heavy on teaching rules.

This tool is perfect for filling that gap. I started to look at Pimsleur and others, but for where I am in my practice, this is what I need. I can communicate at a basic level but I recognize that my Spanish must sound super broken because of my lack of tense usage and this is helping me fix that. I’m hoping by the time I go back to where I need it, ConjuGato will have brought me a huge step forward in being able to communicate correctly in Spanish.

And it’s free with no ads!

Underrated Conjugation App

I LOVE ConjuGato. It’s so helpful for practicing, and I love that it has the option to hear pronunciation because a verb’s conjugation often changes where you put emphasis on a word (practicAR vs. prActica, for example). Also, to unlock the full features is a one-time purchase which is totally worth it if you’re serious about learning Spanish. I love how easy it is to customize what you practice, and there’s even an option to see the grammar terms in Spanish or English. My only complaint would be that I wish there were even more verbs I could practice conjugating! (On a side-note, the most recent update made the overall experience much smoother which is what made me want to finally write this review.)

Polished app and effective learning tool

ConjuGato is great as an alternative for creating your own flash cards for verbs. The amount of functionality is awesome when selecting tenses and choosing a response type (written or not, pronounced automatically, etc.).

While obviously “advice” on how to improve apps is a dime a dozen there is really only one minute change I would like to see in the future: the ability to select verbs “out of order.” The large list of apps is awesome, but if I am focusing on verbs 1-50 and want to add in verb number 250 because I want to include it in my repertoire I have to also include the 200 verbs in between my current list and my single add on verb.

Edit: Additionally it would be awesome to have the option of creating “sets” of verbs/conjugations to switch between. (i.e. keeping a separate set of verbs that I always find challenging to be able to focus on those specifically)

Otherwise, ConjuGato is super helpful and was obviously created by people who know how good apps are built and also understand the flexibility needed for language learning platforms. I’ll gladly pay again (in a non-subscription form) for another update if the financial support is needed. Thanks so much!

Very good - really needs one thing

Update: I changed my rating to 5 stars from 4 stars thanks to ConjuGato update that allows you to narrow the range of verbs to be studied and because the developer responded with a tip on how to do that using the edit function in ConjuGato . Thanks!

I really like the simple, clean interface of ConjuGato. However, adding a way to specify which verbs you want to study would make ConjuGato much more useful. Right now, you can go into each verb and mark it "I learned this," leaving the few you want to study at the moment unmarked, but that is pretty time consuming. I would like to be able to look at the list of verbs and check the 10 or 20 that I want to focus on. I think adding this one feature would greatly enhance the utility of ConjuGato, especially for students who have to study certain verbs for a particular lesson.

Amazingggg

I have barely used ConjuGato and I can already say its amazing. Just looking at the entire verb list, thie developers were VERY thorough on adding all the possible verbs and they neatly organized the conjugations!!! Yes it is the purpose of ConjuGato , but they did an amazing job making the format accessible and simple and TO THE POINT. One time fee is also a game changer! Subscription apps cant even touch this level of ease, they just want the money. You can tell the developers want people to learn! Or even to refresh their memory! Easily! Thanks so much. Will be using ConjuGato probably forever lol. But i will ask, is it possible to make an app with other aspects of grammer such as adjectives, adverbs, etc? Also organized in such a way that I can view the words based on the aspect of life or area or even just alphabetical? Thanks!

Incredibly helpful and easy to customize

IMHO this app is THE model for how a verb learning app should work. I first downloaded it to be able to see all the conjugations of a given verb in one place, and it does that wonderfully.

Then I discovered the Practice feature, and that was a game changer. It gives you a verb and its translation, and you conjugate it in the tense and person you're given. It gives you feedback as you're typing -- correct letters are black, incorrect letters are red, correct letters with incorrect accents are orange, and when you've got the word right the whole verb turns green. You can get hints one letter at a time.

Already mastered the present tense? No problem, just exclude it. Want to just focus on irregular and stem-changing verbs in the future tense? Easy as pie. The present subjunctive for only the 100 (or 200, or 343) most used verbs? Yep, it can do that, too. ConjuGato is great for really narrowing in on the areas you need to improve, and getting you to fix those areas FAST.

The interface, BTW, is clean and elegant and easy to figure out. It's a delight to use ConjuGato.

My only grumble is that I can't seem to find how to upgrade to the pro version. Not that I feel like anything is lacking in the free version; I just want to support the developer.

Also I would be thrilled if they came out with versions for other languages.

Simple and Highly Effective

this app is the best application I’ve found for learning Spanish vocabulary and conjugations.
I’ve tested numerous language learning apps, including all the popular ones, but many of them emphasized gamification way too much or their Spanish content was too random. I like how ConjuGato is straight forward and it allows you to configure the settings to focus on a particular type of tense. One feedback I have is that it would be really nice if we could go back to previous words either by swiping backwards or pushing an arrow back button. Other than that, ConjuGato is amazing!
