Some tools that could improve MotionBook are 1. A bucket tool. I spent a very long time filling in pages! 2. Larger brush options. Not only would this mostly negate the need for a bucket, but it would also be more effective for making a lot of different things at larger scale without the possibility of making them different sizes accidentally. 3. Layers. I’m certain that this is the most mentioned issue within the reviews. It’s difficult to draw digitally, let alone animate, without being able to select layers to work in.
Otherwise, it’s a pretty basic animation app. I would recommend MotionBook over Flip-a-clip for more detailed animations just because of the smaller brushes that this one offers. However, if you’re looking for an animation app for vibrant colors and cuter animations with less detail, Flip-a-clip is the way to go. They offer layers and I think a wider selection of brushes, and they have a fill tool.

So I LOVE animating! I include them in all my Yt videos! However sadly I may stop using this certain app because there is no bucket fill option. It may seem pathetic to stop using an app for that reason but the pain is real. Having to colour an entire page with your bare hands makes you feel like jello, and nobody wants to do that. I’m sorry for my rude words but it’s true. If you add this feature I will not delete MotionBook , and I will come back give 5 stars and I will even change my review to something that would make people enjoy the concept of the game. Now it’s not like I’m expecting a change or respond since you haven’t responded to ANYONE else, but just letting you know 😉. Otherwise MotionBook is okay.

Okay- it’s been TWO WEEKS. I’m not being patient since it’s not like I’ll get a response anyway. I’m deleting MotionBook and getting stick nodes instead. I recommend readers do too.

As an artist that is always scavenging for apps that are amazing and free to use, MotionBook was perfect! When I first opened MotionBook , the layout was not oversimplified, but also not overwhelming. The brushes on MotionBook are few but awesome. If my friends were looking for a free animation app, this would be one of my top 3 recommendations. The only issue (and albeit a minor one) I have with this program is that when you double or triple tap to undo, it doesn’t have the function (for me). This is something I would love to see added because it makes everything much easier for the artist. The other thing is a selection tool, which would be very useful for editing small or large details. This is still a stellar app that I would recommend nonetheless!

So I love MotionBook and I will keep on using it. But I really need your help to save my hands. So basically I can’t find a bucket option and it’s very annoying because I’ll have to fill everything up with my hands💀 and before you go ask me to buy a apple pen. No. I already have one. My wrist hurts and if you can make the brushes go bigger that would Also be helpful. So please do one of these because my hand hurts so much but I want to do them so badly!😫 PLEASE HELP MY HANDS/WRISTS ARE GOING TO DIE😫😫😫

The tools given are basic but useful. You have to pay for use onion layers. To transform and move around the drawing on that frame which is great. But I wish there was layers feature so could work on top of backgrounds. A lot more tools would be nice. I am glad I supported but I would like more to make it more easy to use. Grid would be nice for pixel art also. Please look into this it would greatly improve MotionBook and the freedom to unleash creativity. Otherwise great app.

I have been trying to find a good animation app since the old one I used turned into monthly subscriptions before I could buy the complete version. MotionBook seems perfect, and I don’t mind the lack of layers. But what would really seal the deal is if there is a way to add audio. It’s an animation app, and I’ve searched everywhere to find if there was a way to add audio in the paid or free version, but I haven’t been able to find a way. Is there a way to add audio into your animations?

So MotionBook actually pretty good I’ve started using it right now and I’m doing good and MotionBook is pretty good but I realized that you can’t rotate your camera and it’s kinda bothering me but not in a very annoyed way and also you can’t name the layers which I like to do so I know where to draw in organization BUT this might be me because I just now started using MotionBook (or might be in a purchase I don’t have)but if it’s not me and it’s MotionBook can you change them please? It will help me and probably some other people too(maybe)

So I know it’s a good game it has drawing comics and all the perfect good amazing stuff but the problom is I’ll be making a 68 paged comic I’m finished minutes later I make another one but I forgot what should happen next so I check what happend in the last comic but all the fricken pages are deleted!!!! I hate when this happens to me it makes me so mad I just wanna punch a wall! Please fix this that’s my only problom please ok?

MotionBook is amazing truly but one thing I feel is off is that it has no layers. Layers are a key thing to animation and it can be hard without this ability. Another thing is there is not enough zoom (for me personally) to get the details mostly on the eyes, along with not a thin enough brush. (These issues are mostly personal) but I love the color range and the current abilities. I would recommend getting the advanced version if you want to use this long term for serious animation. Overall good app just a few tweaks needed.

I’ve been using the free version of MotionBook for a little bit now and I’m completely amazed at what this application has to offer. Normally you are very restricted with the free version of any drawing app, but these guys do it so much better. I was considering buying the full version, however, I would like to see a layers system added into the full version. There are many times I find myself making drafts and sketches that I would like to erase completely and still have finished mine work intact or top of it. Other than that, MotionBook works great for anyone looking to get into animation and on a low budget such as myself.

I have been using MotionBook ever since i was 7 and now I’m 9… and i know it’s not a great improvement but anyways there is one thing I’ve always wanted and that is a fill opinion like it would save SO much time in fact there is this one animation i’m doing and I started in 2019 and I still haven’t finished it so it would REALLY help me out if you added this feature. But i just wanna make it clear you don’t have to add this feature in fact you probably won’t but I’m just saying that it is you’re choice bye.

At first, you might think it's almost impossible to make animations with this. But, it's actually really useful! It gives you samples that help you learn your first steps. I'd also suggest you download this on an iPad because it's bigger and it gives you more space to draw and animate on than an iPhone. It's really simple to animate. Kind of like a flip-book, if you've heard of it, it kind of works like that! I don't know how to describe MotionBook but the best words would be best, amazing, cool, extremely helpful, and all of that good stuff. It's a really good app! Download it right now because you're missing out!

This is a great app to use for beginners with little experience with animations, but there is one this I would change. I am in the middle of doing a animation for an anime. The only problem is, MotionBook should have a feature to turn, or rotate when you are drawing. Especially, for what I’m doing and many others are probably doing with MotionBook. I cannot get certain details because I just can’t turn it. Also, how do you take a video out of the background? Like, if I were to trace someone dancing, how do I get the video out?

I have just started using MotionBook and it had already been amazing, I was looking for a free animation app then downloaded this assuming that you had to pay to use it but it didn’t 😃. Although there are a few errors 1.sometimes it glitches me out of the game and deletes some of my pages and this had been happening constantly over the past 2 days it happened over 20 times (please fix this)2. (This isn’t an error) maybe you can add a page to show your recently deleted because I once accidentally deleted mine so yeah and you could make the things disappear after 30 days. That’s it amazing app tho

This is one of my favorite animation apps to date. It's simple which is perfect for throwing together some quick animatics, but has some really great features in the pro version which made upgrading worth it to me. I like the drawing tools, they feel and look smooth. My only complaint is that there's no layer feature, it's just one layer per frame. Even just the ability to use three layers per frame would be a huge upgrade. I would definitely pay for that addition to MotionBook .

Hi first of all I love MotionBook but I fell like it needs a auto shape fix and a color fill these two things will make MotionBook AMAZING for people who can’t afford to buy the pro version right now because this will take animating on MotionBook to a whole new level!!!! 😁😁😁 but again I love using MotionBook to make little animations so when I’m old enough to get a job I can use these from when I was a child along with 3D animations and hopefully become an animator!!!

MotionBook is REALLY easy and fun to use. All you have to do is draw picture by picture. Like a flip book! I make TONS of videos on this app. You can also turn on tips if you need help. I really LOVE the thing where you can make GIFs! My friend actually showed me MotionBook and it was amazing! You can change the speed to! It’s helpful that you can zoom in (that helps me with my drawing). I would say my favorite tool is the hard eraser and the ink pen. If you like to animate or try it out you I really recommend this. Also could you please add a feature were in your animations you can remove the this app label when you want to. It take up to make space sometimes. Thank you for reading this!

MotionBook is pretty powerful in its free state, but definitely worth the five bucks for the more advanced features. It’s a straight-forward flip-book animation tool that offers smooth drawing. Its interface is uncluttered and simple, and that’s actually the only problem I’ve found with it so far—there aren’t enough controls.

By default, MotionBook saves its internal projects to iCloud, which is useful if you’re going to be working on animations on different devices, but I prefer to keep everything on my iPad. It’s possible to set the default location to save projects to your local device, but you have to go to the settings app to do it.

this app is definitely worth playing with, if you’re interested in rotoscoping, adding doodles to existing videos or photos, or drawing animations from scratch.

MotionBook really has helped me evolve into an animator. And plus you don’t have to pay for MotionBook because it’s completely free! I hope one day I’ll be able to animate something even greater than what I made a few minutes ago. Also, with MotionBook you can play with amazing features you can play with. I definitely recommend MotionBook. They shouldn’t be this underated in my opinion.

MotionBook is AMAZING! The ABSOLUTE BEST animation app out there, AND I own the full features, (it’s are amazing) but something frustrating happened. I was making an animation that’s taken me a while, and I had to leave, so I turned my iPad off and left. When I got back on it, half the frames where inverted, which is IMPOSSIBLE to happen, because with the editing tools given, it’s impossible to do, and fix. This bug is annoying, so do you mind adding a tool in the editor to invert selected, or invert the whole frame? It would be most helpful. Thank you!
