So Michi Beck, Smudo, Thomas D and And.Ypsilon are now releasing the world’s first “AUGMENTED REALITY” (AR) music video for iPhone! Right after downloading and opening the free app on an AR compatible iPhone, the user gets access to the “AR” music video.
With the app, the video can be displayed on almost every surface (table, floor, stove top etc.). Via social media channels, the fan i.e. user is able to share the content created with the app with the “outside world”.
To achieve this, real life objects were selected, photographed and built into the “AR” video as 3D content, for example, and can be experienced in the app’s multiple “worlds”.
The user takes over the part of mission control and can steer the drill bit with turns and extra boosts.
The user-generated content can be saved on the smart phone as well as shared via social media platforms or sent via e-mail.
Accompanying the lyrics, a drill bit made of Die Fantastischen Vier’s heads, shatters through four spectacular layers.
In a separate “DESTRUCTION MODE” the user can get creative and cause complete mayhem with the drill bit.
The goal is to achieve “Captain Fantastic” status on completion to receive a remix of the song as download.
The design’s goal was to avoid virtual esthetics and create a form of art installation instead.
Die Fantastischen Vier have always stood for innovation and the courage to blaze new trails.
The virtual world unfolds with the track’s first note.
So called “mission patches” are obtained via collecting Easter Eggs.
And they’re staying true to themselves.
