Technology has come a long way, it’s really amazing and InnoCaption is an instance of that. I remain professionally employed, which I could not do without InnoCaption. It’s not 100%, but it’s maybe 85% accurate, depending on the strength of the voice coming through. One thing I’ve noticed is callers on the other end using low quality headsets, microphones bluetooth devices whatever really degrades the signal. Captioning improves dramatically if I can gracefully get the other person off that low quality piece of unmentionable. That’s not this app’s fault, just the way of the world. I used the captioners for about a year, and then switched over to the ASL engine, which I find more consistent in performance. All in all, I am very grateful for InnoCaption, and also for the US taxpayer dollars that fund the company. It’s free to you and me, but the program funding the company is a great example of where the US government works well.
