Is disappointed to have paid for the pro version of Voicerecorder hoping it would work some of the kinks out...perhaps it is my i7? I am designing a podcast and a writer so it is uber important that when I get in the flow the thing actually records. It would also be great if it auto backed up since I lost months of work when a phone was stolen. Was so disappointed when even after the pro version downloaded , Voicerecorder starts recording and then stops and says file saved when I’m mid sentence. In the free version ads would pop up and I wouldn’t be able to see if I was still recording or even be able to get back to my screen. How dare you waste someone’s time and creative energy. At least put a sizable “x” to close the ad down so someone with work to do can actually use your app. Unacceptable.

I was trying out this device while trying to record some karaoke to check if I was singing in tune with the songs. I recorded one song just fine but then with every other song I tried to do the recorder would just stop after ten or so seconds and an orange notification would appear at the top of the screen and say the file was saved. It just stopped the recording in the middle of the lyrics with no prompting but it didn’t even save it either. Even when I tried saying stuff that was under 8-10 seconds long and stopped it before the notification and even named it, the recording still wouldn’t show up as saved. Then I pressed the question mark hoping it would provide some answers but it just said I would be able to record in three days. But on the description for Voicerecorder it never said there was a limit to how many times I could record within a given period before I had to wait. Either this is a glitch/bug or this is a stupid (no warning) app design. If someone could tell me what’s going on with this I’d be happy to hear it.

P.s.: I’ve tried deleting other voice recordings but that doesn’t work either.

I attempted to use Voicerecorder with an external microphone to make audition recordings. First recording attempt, Voicerecorder didn’t sense the microphone that was plugged in, and I obtained a completely silent recording. The audition panel was gracious enough to give me a second opportunity to record, in which I unplugged the external microphone. After the second recording attempt, Voicerecorder DELETED MY FILE. Having wasted the time of this audition panel and accompanist, I now have no recordings to show for it, and this entire experience can have lasting implications on my career as an artist. DO NOT use Voicerecorder for any professional reasons whatsoever.

Only two things in Voicerecorder kept working properly after two days of using it: Voicerecorder allows more than 5 and you can cut off parts of your recording you don’t want.

These were the issues I found:

1) I was recording and it suddenly stopped recording. I realized that I had to press the record button, leave Voicerecorder , do my recording, return to Voicerecorder , stop recording, and finally had to use the editor to delete the extra seconds that were in the recording from when I was exiting and returning to Voicerecorder .

2) Voicerecorder offers a display of what your audio looks like. It worked for one day and was nice to have, until I didn’t.

3) I tried to share it (that is what exporting is in Voicerecorder) and it separated my audio into audio and a text file that only says “audio recording”. The problem is that I was trying to upload it online for something and the software I was using said it had an audio error, and I can only assume it has something to do with the fact that when you share/export your audio, your audio splits into two

Would like to give a more informative review but once is the amount thus app has been used. Given more time of use I suspect it will be sufficient for recording my progress of song writing. The sound is clear and synced. Not in need of more depth sound right now, that will come later when these songs are composed complete and ready for studio. Voicerecorder gives me a sound that I can send to recipients on my iphone any way that i am able with the iphone.

This application gives me the settings I need to make sure I am recording in Mono or Stereo mode. However, the one major drawback is it will not allow me to share the recorded file with another application on my iPad. The native Voice Memo’s app allows sharing. What needs to be done in the application to allow sharing with an Application called FamilySearch Memories? Without this capability, while Audio Recorder is very good, it will come up short on my list of choices.

This is a great little recorder app so far. I haven’t taken the file and used it in a project or sent it anywhere or anything like that. But what I have done is recorded myself and that has been nice.

The only thing that brought me some unhappiness is when, for some reason, I’d record an audio file and when I’d play it back, it’d be quiet. Like the volume would be low even though I’d turn my volume all the way ups That was weird, so much so that I almost uninstalled it for that, but then the audio files returned back to their normal sound quality. One more thing that made me question the good-ness is how the sound frequencies (like the waves or bars or whichever you choose to look at) weren’t moving no matter how loud or quiet I was speaking.

Other than those thing, this little app has been very loved.

I miss the old days when you could just buy apps for a few bucks. Everything is a f&@*ing subscription now. If I had to pay a subscription fee of even just a few dollars for all the apps I've bought and use, I'd need to work 2 full time jobs. Voicerecorder is fine. I use it because voice memos hasn't functioned properly for 2 years and Apple could care less. But I am bombarded with ads and every f&@*ing time I open Voicerecorder, I'm asked to rate or review it. Pro is a subscription so I just put up with the nuisances of the free version. I'm hoping it stops asking me to review it bow or I'll have to delete Voicerecorder and find another. There...I rated it.

This works well for family type recording. My grandson had to show me how to use it, but once I got the hang of it, I managed just fine. I’m using it to record me singing to my own piano playing. The songs are original and are just for family and friends. The quality is okay considering I’m either using my iPhone or iPad. The only problem is with the volume. I suspect one of the grandchildren will be able to help me fix that. If nothing else, it’s good for practicing until I can get to some heavier weight equipment. I’ve also thought of using it to record family stories to upload to Ancestry or Family Search or for dictation. It’s worth some continued development.

First time using Voicerecorder. Needed to record quickly. Records app on my phone was not allowing me to replay what I recorded. There is as no sound and hard to tell if I was recording. Quickly downloaded your app and it recorded perfectly. You get 5 stars for being there and being ready when I needed you! Don’t ever stop trying and working to be the best, and you he one!!!!

I love Voicerecorder!!! It never glitches and it hardly ever makes you go through adds! It also lets you delete things that you said in the recording. I did that, but first I had to listen to it first so I know which part I want to remove. But the 1 flaw about Voicerecorder is that it makes a new recording after you delete something on the old one. It did that twice to me. It’s kind of annoying. But, it’s still a pretty good app.

I like this recording app because it records with no effort but sometimes it takes a while for me to get to the actual things I recorded so maybe, app makers out there, can you try to fix this please because I love how Voicerecorder is working. It hasn’t glitched once but I feel that Voicerecorder might start to glitch for some reason. Thank you for reading this comment!

Because of Voicerecorder I am now going to become the best singer I love to sing and I’m very good at it thank you so much for helping me out there is nothing more that can be updated on this because it is perfect although you could add that you can add backgrounds from Voicerecorder instead of adding it from other apps but other than that Voicerecorder is perfect👍😃

Tired different apps but they were not intuitive and had no How to/tutorial or Help section.

This one is a snap to use and name. And the default naming system is excellent.

My only complaint is its connection to the horrible TikTok that blocks me from setting up my music I love to hear while settling down. For bed at night.

I use Voicerecorder to document my feelings sort of like a audio journal. When I listen back, I feel the energy that I had when I was talking at that time and it’s exactly what I wanted in a voice recording app.

I am so thankful that a friend shared Voicerecorder with me. It has come in very handy while memorizing Bible verses. Being able to speak the verses and then replay them to see where I am in error has helped me to memorize more verses quicker. I used to have to wait for someone to test me, but now I am able to test myself. Thank you so much for this wonderful free resource! Blessing to you!

I just tried this out today cause I need to look at how I practice piano. Saw a few bad reviews so I was worried it might not turn out right but it actually helped me a lot and now I practice piano and play piano a lot better than at first cause I’m able to look back and see what,is takes I had and make my piano playing better! I hope everyone tries this amazing app!

Hey I just needed to make a voice memo and downloaded Voicerecorder. Easy interface I was up and running (recording) within a couple seconds of first opening Voicerecorder . Made a fairly lengthy memo and listened right after as well as changed the file name and emailed a copy to myself. Sounded great too, nice and clear, no background noise (not sure if that has anything to do with Voicerecorder or just my phone. Very pleased, do not hesitate to give this s try.

I’ve been using it for years, but with the update it just doesn’t seem to have allowed me access to my old library recordings. That’s OK, I’ve been cleaning house in a lot of ways. I would still recommend Voicerecorder to folks who want to do recording of the interview and want to be able to mark their place in an interview, and be able to export files pretty easily.

Just needed a simple function that MANY audio apps don’t have: playback with repeat or loop

This works well. Audio was loud and clear on my first try. Previously, I downloaded a ton of similar apps and went to the Apple Music Memos app. That works great and no ads. BUT...they are discontinuing it.

Voicerecorder you’re reading about is a great replacement. I’m considering buying the paid version to support their good work.

I looked at the paid version ($4) and it only has one bad written review but the developer looks like they fixed stuff. So hopefully more of us will buy it and WRITE a fair review to help these small guys out. :)

I was recording a very important interview today. I pressed record and could see the bars moving indicating that the recording began. Then an add popped up, I pressed x and continued the interview. My phone turned off and I assumed it was recording. When the interview ended and I went to save the recording there was nothing happening, no recording was saved at all. Avoid Voicerecorder. There are many other better ones that won’t fail. Also when the pop up comes to rate Voicerecorder , if you write you don’t like it it just directs you to an email rather than the rating page... very misleading.

The recording quality is pretty good for a free app. The problem I have is that about 75% of the time when I try to play back a recording it will not play back or plays back super slow like it’s 1fps or something. At times I have to try 7 or 8 times, sometimes I have to wait until hours later for it to play back at normal speed. This is very frustrating and I may just look for another app that doesn’t have this glitch in it.

I love that something like this exists, but have no idea if the little piece I just thought I recorded is filed somewhere? Could not figure out how to name it either. I thought for years that since casette tapes are not really in use much anymore , that one had to do a video phone recording of something, or do same with camera and PC, until my 16 yr old son informed me such a recorder exists. Mot user friendly for people that are older.

So far this is a recording is good and clear. I have used it to record minutes for the meeting. I recommend it. The only thing not sure why but when you are listening to it, it cuts you off and you have to start it again and sometimes the volume disappears but if you close out of the program you can hear it again. I guess it’s a glitch. : )

I am a 74 year old woman, and not completely comfortable with technology. But, this program is one of the easiest ones to use! It took me only a very short time to figure out how to record, name and playback. Thank you for writing such a clear, user friendly program!

I love Voicerecorder! It’s only one of two iPad apps I found works with my Blue Snowball microphone. I don’t have a treated room for recording but if I turn the gain down to zero, the recording is super clean with virtually no room tone. It just hangs once in a while but not often enough that it gives me too many problems. If the developer could fix this, it would be perfect.

Able to record a funeral service for my aging father who can’t hear well. Didn’t know if it would work but I transcribed the service and was able to hear all the speakers. Very happy with it. This was also in a large chapel so I wasn’t sure the sound would be good or even carry well. Some echoing due to the space but very audible.
