Why did I quit getting rewards for the Lunar New Year

I was getting 30 Hero tokens everyday including for the one that gave tickets for the Wheel. After one week I quit getting them to earn tickets for the wheel. Today I quit getting them at all with 4 days left in the event. I would have bought extras at the end if I needed them but not if you’re going to get me working towards a goal and quit giving rewards. Also, you don’t answer support questions via email and you require Facebook for contact when not everyone wants to allow Facebook access to their personal data.

In answer to your response, the pieces quit dropping 4 days before the end of the event, not 3. I did not quit the game at any time during the event. I played every day, watched every video except for middle of the night. It’s a lie to say I quit and blame it on me. I have completed every goal, every day.

Pay-to-Win, Freemium game

One thing I love about Kingdom Rush is that you don’t need to buy anything to win, as you can grind just a little to get by. This game, on the other hand, demands an immense grind that- for me- is not worth mobile games. You can either grind and grind and grind for hours that an open-world console/PC game demands, or you can pay for heroes and gems and use those to get you on by. This does not feel like a mobile tower defense game. This feels like a mobile tower defense game that wants to be Clash of Clans to make money. I get that companies need to make money, but customers will be happier and more likely to purchase $3/$5 games that come with everything necessary to win than something like this. This might not even phase the company, but I will never play another game that this company develops.

Good but needs some big changes

I think the gameplay is as good as other similar games, but I put it below average because it’s very greedy, isn’t finished (and likely won’t be any time soon), and melee heroes are a pain to use sometimes.

Greed: they definitely want people to spend money. This game has heroes that can only be bought with real money or earned in special events which are extremely unforgiving. The events in general are extremely unforgiving because you have to do everything during the event to complete them and some are impossible to complete without spending dozens of dollars.

Unfinished: once you beat the main game, you unlock 3 new modes that have been “coming soon” for almost 5 years or maybe even more than that. What exactly does soon mean to the developers? Within the same century? It’s a bit ridiculous that the endgame modes are still unavailable, but 2 heroes that you have to buy with real money (or earn through events that require you to spend more money than the heroes cost) have been released. Cool priorities.

Melee heroes: I wish there was a way to limit how far away they would attack enemies because they run all over the map to get into fights. I always have to select them and tell them to go back to where I want them to stop them from running into a huge horde and get killed.

Big issues affecting gameplay...

Two stars for now. Can be improved upon. When you complete “Nightmare mode” missions and get gold stars, I cannot redeem them to upgrade power-up abilities. The game is pushing me to use gems (premium currency) to upgrade. I assume the same is going to happen for violet stars when you complete missions in “Hell mode.” Cannot contact support because you can only do so through Facebook, which I do not have... and I cannot compete in tournaments because I do not have Facebook... why is this game so Facebook dependent? There is the option to connect your Apple ID to participate in tournaments, but I just keep getting error codes. So, if you don’t have Facebook, this game is pretty worthless. Simple things that need to be fixed just to play properly. I’ve tried reloading the game a couple of times, but all errors persist. Could have been something I would have enjoyed for more time.

Update ruined the playability of the game

until the most recent update (a few days ago) the game was great and the game’s currency payouts were what i would consider to be very generous... however, since the update they have significantly lowered the gem and crystal payouts across the board (on all levels, in the hero trials, etc...) and raised the cost of upgrading runes... there is really only one reason for this change, its purpose is to cause you to use actual money to make up the difference in the hopes that you won’t want to grind even more than you already were forced to... they’ve been promising new levels for months now and all we’ve been getting are half-hearted events that are cleverly disguised as, wait for it... more ways to waste your money... until they put out the new levels and reinstate the old payouts i’d say this game isn’t worth your dl, time, or money... shame on the devs

Not bad but not good

I give this game a 3 out of 5 stars. First off it offers more in terms of KR style, which is good. However the maps feel to small and doesn’t give you a lot of leg room to carefully plan your defense. As a pay to win game yes pay to win. It really begs the nick to buy more win more. On to the level maps: You will face a big baddie at level 20. Trust me no matter if you don’t pay for more to upgrade your heroes it won’t do you good. Even if you level max all your towers you won’t be able to fight this guy off. Second I find it unfun to buy jewels just to level up your hero and his or her skills. Leaves no more room for character growth (rpg grinding) or leveling. So after a good three days I’m removed EmpireWarriors and will keep looking for more fun KR style games. Not bad but not good

Sorta good kingdom rush knock off

The game itself is basically kingdom rush just to put it on the table, it’s pretty good in most aspects but locks a good 70%of the game behind micro transactions which the game is free but to get through the blandness of what the give you you’d have to spend upwards of 60 bucks to have any fun after you unlock the normal towers and the first two heroes

You can unlock the other heroes if you have literally no life and you’re extremely good at the game because you have to beat the levels on hell to get the purple stars and hell is a steep difficulty curve on levels to basically force you to spend money instead of beat you brains out trying to beat the level

I’d recommend this game if you just want some quick fun, but if you are trying to invest time into the game like kingdom rush don’t bother unless you have 100 bucks burning a hole in your pocket

Great Game

Now, before I begin I haven’t actually played this game too much. This is weird, because I loved playing Kingdom Rush and this game is basically the same as that one. However, I feel like there are two major flaws with this game that make me like it a lot less than other td games.

1. Enemies have both physical and magic resistance, making it unclear as to why I would ever need some towers as everything seems to die at the same pace no matter what I use. The resistances are not pronounced enough. I think this would improve if the game were made harder with resistances playing more of a role.

2. Tower variations don’t seem to different to me. The two basic choices are too similar to each other in my opinion. Like, in Kingdom Rush, if I was having trouble taking down a big guy, I would use one of the variations that deals a lot of damage to one guy. In this game, I wouldn’t know which one is better at single target removal. Night archers have fast attack, but also have a single target % chance stun. Dawn archers have a slower attack speed but more damage, and also a single target true damage ability. Which of these towers are better at taking down a hard opponent?

All in all, I think that this is a great game and is fun to play, but also I just feel like none of my decisions really matter that much in the scheme of things. That is not a good thing for a strategy game all about making decisions on which towers to place where and when to upgrade them.

Need more data!!

Great game I played all normal levels and over half of the other two difficulties. I think the hero system helps this game stand out compared to similar games. I like the how flexible it is with the runes you can play different styles and one strategy may work for one level but not on another.

One problem though would be missing data. Things like damage type especially on enemies would be nice to know, I believe hero stats are based of per second (hp gen atk spd etc) and the special abilities of enemies is no where to be found and for towers it’s not in the encyclopedia only in the level

Would be nice to have these informations since levels can be pretty difficult (I’m not maxed in runes but at about +9 average) and planning before does help but hard to do without info

It’s a good clone

It’s an obvious clone of Kingdom Rush, but it’s still a decent game. I wish I didn’t have to play the easy mode to play the harder modes (2nd hardest mode). The normal mode is too easy and the next is a step up and my preferred difficulty. I also don’t like the constant shoving of monetization, and would prefer to just buy the game like kingdom rush. That being said, the game has solid td mechanics that are almost exactly the original kingdom rush formula. The story is less pronounced and the art is decent but not as good. Some lvls are almost exactly the same as previous Kingdom Rush lvls. The do add a little bit through runes to custom what stats u wanna perk into but that of course is another way they milk money if u r desperate or too lazy to grind.

Overall it’s a decent game. It’s a free kingdom rush so of course it isn’t anything too amazing.

Don’t be fooled

The other reviews say that this isn’t as good as Kingdom Rush, but I argue it is better. I loved Kingdom rush and literally played for years, but this game has more options more upgrades, more missions and more ways to play, along with more end game content. The only complaint I have is there is way too much monetization. If he heroes costed $5 or less I would consider purchasing one just cuz, but $10 for one hero, or for some cosmetics is beyond unreasonable. Knock the prices down 50-70% and you would have my business as far as spending money. Other than that, this game is phenomenally fun and masterful in its style and visuals. It’s not a rip off, it’s a very well done homage to a classic, beloved tower defense game!

Fun game, money not necessary

This is a great TD game with well balanced towers and enemies. It gets quite tough but can be beaten without spending money. However, I think spending a few dollars on some gems would be worth it, not because you need them but honestly to support the developers who have worked hard to bring us a fun game. One curious observation is that their English is a little off here and there. One example: they said an enemy “will lose a fix amount of damage” instead of “a fixed amount.” It’s not a typo, grammar is a little shaky throughout but I’m just poking fun at them because otherwise the quality of the graphics and gameplay is very high. It’s a great game and I highly recommend downloading it.

Kingdom Rush, Schmingdom Mush

Yes, this is derivative of KR, but with greater replay-ability and more challenging scenarios imho. It could be drastically improved by adding more maps and challenges versus continually nerfing skills or OP heroes. As it stands, the majority of the game is free to play, however, not worth paying for the premium heroes needed to finish the last few maps as there are no more maps to explore and not much else to do other than tournaments, which diminishes the stickiness of the game.

Edit: I changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. It appears you can beat all maps so far without buying any premium heroes. Just remember to upgrade your runes!

Empire Warriors TD is in its own Category

Empire Warriors TD is a standalone game on it's on and is awesome, yea its graphics is a little similar to KR but who cares. The developers did an amazing job and the game is free. The game is dope you can have 3 heroes on the Battle field at once, and you can easily get all the other here is without using money to by them, you just have to save enough crystal which might take some time. Also this game is a slow grind it takes a bit to level up your heroes, and I love the bonus stats you can give your heroes with the rune stones. Great job developers my hat goes off to you and your team. I would love to see a Empire Warriors TD 2.

Great all around

It’s a great game for a quick play, and if you have time to kill this will keep you busy for hours too! I appreciate games that prevent a gradient challenges like this, and the degree of difficulty if pleasant enough to keep you working without being all but impossible to progress. I was also really pleased at the ease of data transfer of my pre existing game from my old damaged tablet to my current device. All I had to do was use the Facebook sign in feature on my current device and everything was there immediately. Okay, time to defend the kingdom

Not too bad! VIP coins are weird tho

The game is good, I have fun playing it, gems are much easier to earn now which is cool.
I have one problem though, it says you could buy the dragoon towers and hero skins with VIP coins, but whenever I go to purchase the item it doesn’t allow me to use my VIP coins! It only allows me to use money but I don’t want to do that obviously I’d rather use in game currency given the chance and it suggests that I can use VIP coins but I can’t figure out how to use them to buy things in game.
If anyone can help me that would be great!

Many Tried

Many Tried to imitate the Hall of Famer ‘Kingdom Rush’ but few succeed in making one of the best Defender Strat games of our time. Its been so long since someone does something RIGHT with a brand new Defense Strat game.

It has enough action, enough difficulty, and enough chances to unlock everything WITHOUT in-game purchases; JUST the right amount of chances and difficulty to be exact.

Those committed to defense games like I am, knows that this stands out from many of those that tried to stand up with the best like KR. I can’t wait to see how this game continues to improve and expand

5 stars

Great game with a lot of replayability. I love the daily and weekly challenges, they’ve kept me interested. It lacks the cutesy pop culture Easter eggs that were a hallmark of its kingdom rush rivals, but the ability to add and upgrade multiple heroes to use together on each level is brilliant. I do wish they’d give you the ability to purchase a bag of coins on the power ups screen using diamonds, so you could upgrade towers when you’re in a pinch. Other than that, I just hope they’ve got more levels coming, I wanna keep playing.

Fun TD, “borrows” heavily from LoTR & LoL

Game mechanics: A+
It’s a good TD, well crafted in many ways. Main thing is you can progress and win without paying real money if you’re good, but I bet paying money would help. It’s reasonably beatable and challenging in a fun way. Good job.

IP: lol
Just funny to me how much this game rips off content from other fantasy franchises though. This is as if LoTR and League of Legends had a love child. Combine a world where men, elves, and dwarves fight against orcs, spiders and evil Ents (sad) with the rpg heroes component of LoL. The map is a scrambled version of Middle Earth. But hey, as long as the Tolkein estate is cool then whatever.

Marketing: D-
Thing is, the prices for in-game purchases are so dang high. It’s like they want to be greedy but are bad at being greedy. $10 for one hero? Are you kidding... I might pay $10 to unlock every hero and tower. Maybe I’m the only non-millionaire playing here but no thanks.

LOVE IT!

This game is sooo fun! I live the challenges and how difficult the bosses are. For me personally, it is not similar to Kingdom Rush since there are better heroes and better towers. Also, the game consist of tunes that makes your hero better! Not only that, when you earn enough stars (regular, gold, and purple) the game is much easier. Lastly, what makes this game fun is that you’re eager to get better stuff for free, like “exclusive” towers when you collect all the purple stars. You guys are doing great! Can’t wait for the new update!!!
