Great App for reading the Bible

I just finished one year with ReadtheBibleinOneYear and loved it! Helped me to complete my goal of reading the entire bible this year. My only suggestions would be two fold. One, having a way to select which version of the Bible you wanted to read. As it is now you click the readin and it automatically takes you to the NIV in the Bible app which is not that difficult to switch over to the NLT which is my preferred version but sometimes I’d forget. Second, It would be helpful if you did miss a day to have a way to say say you skipped that day and have the schedule adjust for you. It might not strictly mean you finish in a year but might help more people stick with it.

Great Work, Very Convenient!

At the beginning of the year, I made the decision to read the whole bible in a year. I wasn’t quite sure how to do it though. “Read the Bible in One Year” has the solution. I opened it up and it told me exactly what i needed to read for that day. The best part is you don’t have to start it in the beginning of the year, you can set the start date to the day it is. It has a bunch of other features that make it such a great app. I definitely recommend it if you want to read every bit of God’s word and I believe that that is one of the best ways to learn and grow in faith.

Great accountability but wish offered more

Love the modern look of ReadtheBibleinOneYear and its simplicity in helping me read the Bible daily.

But why does it offer such old english version of the Bible which makes it hard to read directly thru ReadtheBibleinOneYear , when the display is so modern?? Or do i just not know how to switch to a different Bible version?
Also wish it offered an additional feature to see my progress as a whole (like a pie chart or % total or something) as another incentive to keep reading. Right now i have to use 2 additional apps for that - one for easier bible reading and one for chart profress display. Wish ReadtheBibleinOneYear would offer all.

Great simple little app!

I like the plan, and it’s easy to follow, and to get done in a day’s time. I prefer to read from my own Bible, but I love that I can access the passages in ReadtheBibleinOneYear in case I’m away from home. Each day’s assigned passages are written in bold bright print. As you mark them as completed, they change to regular print. So it’s easy to see what you’ve completed and what you haven’t. And if you make notes, a star will appear next to that day’s assigned passages. It’s definitely keeping me on the right track!

Well done!

I absolutely love ReadtheBibleinOneYear! It was everything I was looking for. It clearly and concisely lays out an easy to follow plan for you to accomplish your goal of reading through the Bible in a year. I have recommended this, and will continue to do so, to several people. If you are looking for an app to help you as you read through God’s word, look no further! Yearly won’t disappoint!

Disclaimer: I use Yearly in conjunction with YouVersion Bible app. Therefore I can not speak into the version of the Bible Yearly uses since I personal have not read it.

Simple but helpful

ReadtheBibleinOneYear has kept me on track with daily readings. I began at the beginning of the year and am almost halfway. I’ve always wanted to read the Bible, but felt it was too much or I was unsure where to start. This breaks it down into doable passages each day or reasonable amount of reading at the end of the week if I fall behind. Not really any features just straight forward reminder of how to start and finish the Bible in a year!

Simple and great!

ReadtheBibleinOneYear is simple- it shows todays date and dates from the past and future- with the readings for that day! There’s even a section to make notes. There aren’t devotionals or anything like that (that’s what the Bible App is for), so it’s helping me track my reading!

Maybe after you mark a reading complete something would happen, like confetti or something to let you know you finished. 😊

I love this app!!!!

I used to really struggle with my faith, and I would try to do quiet time but I didn’t really know what I was getting out of it. I have always wanted to read the whole bible but when I approached it like a big 2,000 page book I just decided not to, with ReadtheBibleinOneYear it takes me about 10 minutes to read each section and it makes me feel like a better Christian. I would highly recommend!!! ❤️❤️

Great, minimalist concept however

Update: raised from 2 stars to 4 because evidently you CAN select your own version if you install the Youversion Bible app. So ReadtheBibleinOneYear (Yearly) is sort of a glorified shortcut that will open up your youversion app with the day’s verse.

I’m somewhat puzzled. ReadtheBibleinOneYear was great but they just updated it. Now it’s a different version (it used to be NASV, now it’s American Standard from 1901). I mean if you like all of “thees” and “thous,” cool... but sort of lame getting all this distance reading and suddenly Boom. Welcome to an entirely different version.

Also the “write a review” link on their app doesn’t take you to the right app to write a review on. It just takes you to “iTunes” in ReadtheBibleinOneYear Store.

*sigh. Well it was a good app. Probably the best bible reading tracker yet until the update. Oh well, on to the next one until they update theirs. 😖

Most effective and convenient way to read through the Bible in a Year

I never write reviews but I just love how simple, effective and convenient ReadtheBibleinOneYear is. Love that you can start from any date, that you can change the theme, and that you can check it off as you go but still look back or forward. My favorite part is that it links directly to Youversion bringing you straight to the reading for the day.

LOVE this app!!

ReadtheBibleinOneYear is honestly so amazing! I really struggle to read through the Bible in a year and not lose momentum. But with ReadtheBibleinOneYear not only can you link it to your phone or read from your actual Bible... but if you miss a day it’s okay because it’ll take of all that for you! Highly recommend ReadtheBibleinOneYear!! I also love that it has you reading two different books of the Bible.

Better access to notes

The note function is almost useless. Unless I’m missing something, I have to go back to the very beginning and scroll through every reading to find old notes. I kept a lot of them in Gen. and Exodus to keep track of lineage and themes, less copious notes in other books. I’m now in Chronicles, but finding old notes is almost impossible. I’d keep more — a valuable tool — if I could access them more easily. Thanks!

A suggestion

I like ReadtheBibleinOneYear a lot. However, I have a suggestion that would be very practical and helpful. I would like the option of “resetting” the “start date” but without losing what I’ve accomplished (in other words, I don’t want to go back to Genesis 1, but I want to pick up where I left off). I may need to do this a few times, but I think it will be the only way I actually read through the entire Bible (I’ve tried many times).

Amazing!!

Definitely the best app for keeping track of your daily reading and one year plan. Super simple, it has the day and what your supposed to read along with notes and the Bible part. I love how you can switch colors too.
If you’re looking for a simple, non distracting app to get your bible reading done, THIS IS THE ONE!

Good app... changes bring confusion.

Edit: you can change versions. Thanks for letting me know. I’d add that info in ReadtheBibleinOneYear but for my purposes 5 stars.

I enjoy the update but would love a more readable version such as the NRSV.

I am having difficulty understanding and it takes a little longer. Is there a way with the new update to change the version?

This is pretty awesome!

You read from both the Hebrew and Greek scriptures at the same time. Then you finish the Bible in a year from Genesis to Malachi and Matthew to Revelation!
I love the mark off option; it would be nice to see a progress calendar-but I love it otherwise!
Great app!! No annoying ads! It serves its function precisely!

1 YEAR DONE!!!

I started using Yearly as my daily Bible reading resource exactly One year ago :) Praise God, i have never missed a day, and completed reading the Bible thru, today! Our God is Faithful, and He has caused me to be faithful to seek Him daily, no matter what was going on around me and in me. Thank You, Yearly, for being there every morning.

Love this app

I love that I can start reading through the Bible at anytime throughout the year. I also love that it takes me to the Bible app for the scripture of the day and that I can take notes on the day of my reading within ReadtheBibleinOneYear. Thank you for a great app.

Sheri

I have never read through the Bible before. The way this is set up makes it enjoyable. So many times the New Testament and the Old Testament readings seem to go together. I look forward to my time of Bible reading. God loves his people and gives them so many chances. Then we blow it and God sends his Son to redeem us.

Great app

I’m the kind of person that needs something to help me stay on track and ReadtheBibleinOneYear is perfect for resting through the Bible. After every day, it lets you mark that day complete which provides some real satisfaction!😂😄

By

Simple, effective, free

Love the plan! Super easy to do. Love that it was consistently in both the OT and NT, so you’re never feeling overwhelmed reading through a book like Leviticus only.

By

User Friendly

Overall good app. I downloaded several looking for one that would do what I was looking for. This was it!

I was looking for an app that allowed me to change the start date. Meaning, I started the “Bible in a year” mid-year but every app I tried only allowed the start date to be 1 January, so I’d have to pick up in the middle. ReadtheBibleinOneYear allows you to change the start date.

Pros:
- User friendly, easy to figure out; just swipe left/right
- Able to change start date
- Has daily reminder

Cons:
- Only offers chronological option
- No tracking of completion (such as check marks)

By

One critique

The only thing I absolutely want to change, is the scrolling. For someone like me who reads ahead, it’s almost impossible to scroll ahead to dates. It’s time consuming, and tedious.

By

Great!

Exactly what I wanted simple and easy to use. I love that I can mark finish after my reading. I use it to help keep track in my Bullet Journal.
