Ads are a nightmare

When a developer offers a free version, it is usually for someone to evaluate before buying - try before you buy, so to speak. I understand that ads may be necessary to compensate the developer from those who never upgrade. But, PhotoLightExposureMeter has so many ads that pop up (and each ad takes MULTIPLE attempts to clear), that a fair evaluation is IMPOSSIBLE. The only way I could evaluate PhotoLightExposureMeter was to read the reviews. There are too many less than stellar reviews for me to be willing to spend money - including one that mentioned ads still came after the purchase upgrade that promised to remove the ads. I’m not willing to chance PhotoLightExposureMeter based on the reviews and the developer is not giving me a fair opportunity to evaluate.

Where do all my “saved” pictures go?

I’d rate this 5 stars if I was able to save my photos in a log that supports a gallery, with a history of all photos that I “save” - rather bath an resetting what I “save” every time I close PhotoLightExposureMeter .

Am I missing something? I’m not sure what the point of a save or log function is if it’s just going to reset every time you close PhotoLightExposureMeter .

I’d love to have a history of all the photos I save because I can reference them when I get my film back. It’d be nice to have that log feature keep all my saved photos, so that I don’t have to export to camera roll every single time I meter.

Ads make this app nearly impossible to buy

4 separate times I have attempted to purchase and the BLASTED ADS pop up before you can even get to PhotoLightExposureMeter Store!!! Sure I could just go to PhotoLightExposureMeter Store first but I need to first see if it’s helpful and worth my time and money!
From what I can see of it before the ads pop up it may be quit useful. Some decent less obtrusive ads that didn’t render PhotoLightExposureMeter unusable and give maybe a reasonable time period for evaluation and I would definitely buy this one!
But since the developer seems to think he is making more money on his chosen ads I have decided that I don’t need his garbage after all!
If you download PhotoLightExposureMeter it must just be for his ads and not for his app.
Zero stars for his efforts in my opinion!

Add camera for view

This is PhotoLightExposureMeter that I use the most it’s always been good. But sometimes exposure can be off. Ultimately if I bring my digital camera to use the internal light meter the pictures would come out perfect. But I’m not about to use a second camera and my iPhone just to get a good exposure. If the developers of PhotoLightExposureMeter which somehow incorporate the ability to see with the photo could potentially look like using a built-in camera with manual settings it would help us.

Very Useful

I mainly shoot digital but I have started shooting with film recently. This is a very handy app even if your camera has a built in light meter. I can just pull out my phone instead of having another accessory while I’m out taking pictures. The touch-spot metering is also a nice touch. I just recently developed my film and the exposures shot with the help of metering from PhotoLightExposureMeter came spot on.

It does its job well

Great Controls make it easy for me to whip out when I'm out shooting for whatever the reason. Overall I recommend PhotoLightExposureMeter for anyone who shoots with traditional camera or a smartphone. The part where I can check the light on just one small part of a scene is my favorite as I don't care about lighting a whole scene perfectly.

Works well, accurate results

I as skeptical at first, but after run serval compressing tests with dedicated light meters and digital cameras, found that at ps works well. To make it prefect will be nice to have the light high pick memory. In that case you can use with flash. When flash fires it will show what non locked settings should be and have option to reset memory.

Great app

Just got my first roll back after using the light meter and everything came out perfectly exposed. Couldn’t have done it without the assist from PhotoLightExposureMeter . Easy and quick to use. Perfect addition for my street photos.

Fairly good

After developing my film I noticed that all the low light and indoor readings were fairly accurate, but while outside, its wildly innacurate. I found that my outdoor shots were extremely overexposed. So PhotoLightExposureMeter is only great for indoors and low light situations. What really bothers me are the ads which are very abundant and common. Often times you aren’t able to close them and you are forced to force close PhotoLightExposureMeter and restart which is annoying, but hey, PhotoLightExposureMeter works (most of the time)

Amazing

What I found the best about PhotoLightExposureMeter was its exposure compensation feature! Very convenient! With this feature, it becomes very easy to arrange a quality shooting. Say good bye to your over or under exposed garbage! Only correct exposure! Only a masterpiece!

Works great... but I have a problem

Works really great I’ve only ever missed a few shots but that may be due to my film camera. My problem is that starting today I can only use PhotoLightExposureMeter for a few seconds at a time and then it crashes and closes itself. Not very helpful. Tried restarting my phone. Didn’t fix the issue. Support please?!

Ads galore

I love PhotoLightExposureMeter itself and how it’s built, it’s easy to use and seems to be giving accurate values, HOWEVER I cannot stand the ads and how they jump out at the wrong moment - missed opportunities when shooting film. I am very annoyed by it.

I considered paying to get rid of the ads, but after reading reviews by various other users that the ads don’t go away even after the purchase, I reconsidered.

Almost perfect

This is the best functioning light meter app I’ve ever found. My only qualm with it is that it bottoms out at EV 2. I shoot a lot of ISO 3200 film at f/2.8, but the meter won’t give me a shutter value slower than 1/15. Another app I use goes much, much lower, but it’s always over exposed by almost 2 stops, no matter what the reading.

Good app

At first, I was sceptic about even trying to use PhotoLightExposureMeter, being scared by all these negative feedbacks regarding ads. But my friend highly recommended it. So, I tried. Well, not as bad as some other users said. Yes, there are some ads in a free version. But my friend upgraded to a PRO and now is using it happily with no adv

Don’t Pay For Pro

The light meter works well but when I paid for the pro version to remove ads they still appear. If that’s how PhotoLightExposureMeter is going to work then just continue to use the free version and save your money.

Good when it works

The light meter on PhotoLightExposureMeter is really accurate and easy to use.

The ads on it are a nightmare and make it virtually unusable though. They’re often impossible to close and you have to force close and restart PhotoLightExposureMeter to get it to work again.

Hopefully they’ll resolve this issue because I do like using the meter.

Easy to use

Easy to use, good layout and controls, clear readings. One suggestion - make the numbers larger with an option to customize the colors. Overall 5 stars.

Wonderful meter

I use this meter to adjust my Canon camera. That’s true for the colour temperature which makes photograph colours look very natural. Besides, I don’t need to carry a colour meter with me. My colour meter will be always with me.

It’s a Free? App

I used PhotoLightExposureMeter three times trying to learn how to meter without the built in camera meter, but after using it a small handful of times I can no longer lock and unlock the aperture and iso settings without it forcing me into the purchase screen. I get they need to make money but if you market an app as free it should be more clear that there’s a subscription after using it 3 times

Works well

I use it with a Leica M3 and find it works just as well as my MR4 and makes the camera a little sleeker since I don’t have that in the hot shoe. Highly recommend.

Good app

Friends, let me share my experience with PhotoLightExposureMeter. Its interface is intuitive. Perhaps, some options I would prefer to have on its primary as I use them very often. Its help in providing hints to take a better picture is hard to overestimate.
