BallisticCalculatorSBCLight worked great for about 4 days (v1.7). I liked it so much I decided to support the developer by purchasing the Pro version of BallisticCalculatorSBCLight . I took it to the range on day four and it stopped working. Specifically it would crash the moment I touched the Target button. I’ve emailed app support multiple times and have not heard back from them. BallisticCalculatorSBCLight is worthless without being able to view the Target pane. I’ll ask for a refund.

Paid for the year, should have paid for a month and canceled. Can’t save anything. Can’t figure out how to adjust the scope. I set distance to 1400 yards. I set target to grizzly bear. Target is not in sight. Yeah, I know. I have to make adjustments. That’s the part I cannot figure out. I want to see diff targets through diff reticles at diff distances and at diff magnifications. That’s the main reason I paid. I gave up.

I used BallisticCalculatorSBCLight for about a month now and I had no problems. Now BallisticCalculatorSBCLight is extremely slow to where it’s unusable, this problem needs to be fixed and I don’t know if it’s BallisticCalculatorSBCLight or if it’s my phone causing the problem.

When I plug in all environmental data the windage settings the program would give an extreme correction like 10 thousand MOA windage adjustment. I tried everything to correct it to no avail.

I looked at this ballistics calculator because it’s compatible with Down Range Systems E-Dope Card.

It has all the features you’d come to expect in a ballistic app. However, I was surprised that it does not include G7 ballistics coefficients as an option or the option for a twist rate or density of altitude.

Additional features are available on a monthly/yearly subscription basis. I was intrigued by the “math” feature. But not intrigued enough to sign up for the subscription service.

There are other ballistic apps, in my opinion, that are more feature rich it’s unfortunate that they are not compatible with the DRS E-Dope card.

BallisticCalculatorSBCLight is close to perfect. It allows you to manually enter a specific load, rifle details, and even weather conditions. It’s got multiple riflescope options for a reticle view graph at a particular range under current settings as well as a ballistics table. One very crucial aspect I think is missing however is the lack of a ballistic function selection; you’re stuck with a G1 projectile shape, where I think at least a G7 option would prove very useful. I also believe an angle of fire setting would be nice for up/downhill situations.

It’s really great but however it’s hard to see the icons at the bottom very well and the ads need to go!

This is a great app for what it’s designed to do if only it didn’t crash every time you try to delete a load.

Out of all the ballistic apps I’ve tried, this is the best and most simple one yet. The simplicity of everything makes it really seamless and the ability to load in your own reticle (in the reasonably priced pro version) is fantastic.

The one thing it lacks is the ability to input accurate windage data using Kestrels or WeatherFlows. The BallisticsARC app has that function (using kestrels is horribly overpriced but WeatherFlow compatibly is free) but it’s user interface is garbage. The difference a subtle 5mph perpendicular muzzle wind makes at 500 yards is nearly 9”, yet I don’t have the ability to accurately read the wind for a hold.

Kestrel and WeatherFlow compatibility would make BallisticCalculatorSBCLight absolutely perfect. Right now without it, it’s a 9/10.

Otherwise, stellar app.

Best ballistic calculator I have found today. Contains all the commercially available ammunition that I use. It even has adjustments for Coriolis affect temperature altitude and humidity.

BallisticCalculatorSBCLight is great, and free! Just tap on GPS icon, touch on target location, deer ect, touch scope icon and it has range and hold point.

The settings were right on the money. Shooting out to 800yds hitting 12”x12” targets first shot based on the apps calculations!

After learning how BallisticCalculatorSBCLight works and fooling around with the settings I felt confident with pushing my 308 out to a thousand yards.
So far “mostly due to time constraint and weather” I’ve had no problem ringing 24” steel plate out to 800 yards.

BallisticCalculatorSBCLight gives you access to so many formulas and calculations! Elevation, wind, distance and will even tell you the amount of clicks to adjust! Perfect for someone without special training

I wish you could erase Load info after it has been saved.
I put in a bunch of bs loads just playing around and now I have to swim through all this junk to find the load that i am actually using. If there is a way to erase saved loads I would sure like to know about it

After you enter the load data, BallisticCalculatorSBCLight will not go anywhere else. It’s completely useless!

BallisticCalculatorSBCLight is pretty intuitive and easy to almost use. Everything is great but I was unable to save the loads I entered. It would save the name of the load and some of relevant data but would not save little details like bullet weight and ballistic coefficient.
