I purchased my pit boss about 4 1/2 five years ago and I have no complaints man it’s been a perfect grill I would recommend it to anybody the things I do recommend though is try to stay as close as possible to the proper pellets and proper pellets could possibly cause airy overheating or under heating and these are the things I recommend so we find a good selection from Lowe’s Walmart and Home Depot for the pellets that we use

We bought 2 of you Pit Boss products 3 years ago this Christmas. We have had nothing but problems with them since. Your support team has sent so many replace parts and it’s gotten old. We bought a large smoker and a smaller regular pit. Right now neither one is working. I went to put a brisket on this morning and the pit temp went over 500 degrees and uncontrollable. My smoker hasn’t worked in months. I am very, very disappointed in your product and will never recommend it to anyone. This will probably fall on deaf ears, but it’s ok

Im seeing all these 1 Star reviews about PitBossGrilling not connecting the grill… if you read the manual it says to download the “smoke it” app for Wi-Fi connectivity for your grill. PitBossGrilling no longer works for controlling your grill. Slow down and read the directions people! The smoke it app works amazing and does everything people are saying they wish it would do.

you would think after spending $750 on a new grill the lockhart to be exact that PitBossGrilling would work the way it is supposed to. Sadly no it does not. after firmware updates using it the first time it just simply no longer connects to my phone. all other BT devices do connect. once in PitBossGrilling it just gives me instructions on how to connect even though it is already connected. app seems dated and poorly managed even before the lockhart PitBossGrilling was terrible. please fix all major issues

PitBossGrilling just like the smoke it app are useless. If you are truly going to rely on the wifi capabilities and the apps while you use your grill then spend the extra money and get a Traeger.

Currently PitBossGrilling just blinks the words Bigger Hotter Heavier over and over. PitBossGrilling doesn’t even open. I’ve uninstalled and then tried it again but still nothing. I should have done more research and paid for it by not being able to use certain functions on the grill.

Had the grill, Laredo 1000, for a month. It is great. Downloaded PitBossGrilling when I burned in the grill. It refuses to do ANYTHING except flash, bigger, hotter, heavier. I have tried everything and I do mean everything (delete and reinstall, full reboot, combinations with grill power up, etc. ) to get it to connect. I-phone 10 never has found Bluetooth signal from grill. Right now PitBossGrilling is useless trash consuming screen space and nothing more. Totally and frustratingly useless.

This smoker is great. Everything I have made has come out perfectly. I even made beef jerky that was unbelievable. It wasn’t until I made the jerky that I truly understood the P setting. Cooking with the Pit Boss smoker feels like cheating. But who cares, I am eating well

After spending $900 on a new grill you think pitboss would come up with an app that doesn’t have so many bugs. Crashes constantly and asks to update firmware almost every time you re-open it but it doesnt fix anything. Its almost as if the programmers put in a fake firmware update notification in there just to make it seem like there is a proactive effort to fix the issue bc they won’t do it.

Look I love and I mean absolutely love my KC Combo Platinum! I am so thankful they spent the time and resources on the unit. However PitBossGrilling is SH*T!!!! Do not waste precious time you could spend smoking a brisket dicking around with this worthless app. Pit Boss knows what they are doing when it comes to grills but needs serious help with the tech side. Stay in you lane Pit Boss if you can’t do any better than this.

I bought the Pit Boss at Lowes a few weeks ago. Absolutely love this grill. PitBossGrilling , however does not work. I’ve checked to see if there is an upgrade and that’s not the case. When I open PitBossGrilling nothing happens. Part of the appeal with purchasing this was the Bluetooth function. Giving one star but that’s too high! Please fix this!!!

PitBossGrilling used to be so useful. It has been updated and no longer provides any help. What happened to the recipes? You could search through the different proteins and find numerous, delicious recipes. I guess if you don’t have an expensive piece of equipment you don’t matter in the eyes of Pit Boss. I would not recommend PitBossGrilling at all

How about adding a back button? It’s pretty annoying looking over recipes and if you want to go back to the list you need to start all over. Make it easier for searching. PitBossGrilling is some archaic garbage. I feel like I’m using something 10 years old. Response is horrible and painfully slow

How??? With these grills costing so much, how do you have an app that doesn’t function???? Like at all! I get the home screen and that’s it. No options. No grill temp. No meat probe temp. Disgraceful considering 99.9% of your customer most likely bought it to enjoy the wifi capabilities. So if that doesn’t work…what was the point. Wish I could return this thing.

PitBossGrilling has potential. I want to be able to go in, find recipes and save them. I can’t do that so I downloaded the Traeger app so will be using Traeger recipes until they make that feature available in here. Also seems to load slowly. Big disappointment.

I read all the negative reviews on PitBossGrilling and decided to get it anyway thinking Pit Boss would have read them and made updates accordingly. I was wrong!! Once I opened PitBossGrilling every page says it cannot be found. Totally useless app. It has been deleted. I just hope my new grill is better than PitBossGrilling .

I finally deleted PitBossGrilling for the fourth and final time. It worked great at first but then started acting up. I started having issues with it performing task that I had pressed for it to do. Then it got to where it would not do anything. I tried to delete and reload twice but I am done. Love my pit boss grill, hate PitBossGrilling .

The first two days PitBossGrilling worked fairly well. I was even able to monitor and adjust my Lockhart from 23 miles away. Now, just like most users here, it no longer works. It goes to the white screen with the spinning circle and then back to the “Connections and Using” menu page.

I have had the v3pm1 for 3 months now. I have to say the food is great. It is built great as well. But if you advertise that it can be linked to a smart device! You might want to hold up to your word. I have tried countless times to reach customer support, big surprise no luck in fact they don’t answer the phone.

In the 3 or so months i’ve had PitBossGrilling , it has only actually opened and worked a handful of times. As I type im still awaiting PitBossGrilling to open up from the “bigger hotter heavier” rolling scroll its been on for the last 10 minutes... The Pit boss smoker I have works more often then PitBossGrilling it seems.

PitBossGrilling is absolutely terrible. I’ve had to add my grill to it multiple times, and now I can’t even connect to it. It just gives me instructions on how to connect. Which is irrelevant if you can’t connect. The grill works great, PitBossGrilling is terrible. Fix it and stop renaming your grills. Stick with what works and fix what doesn’t.

PitBossGrilling provides no advantage to my Bluetooth grill. I was really looking forward to having the ability to monitor my grill and food temps and assuming that I would get alerts when they were some or up to temperature. The only thing PitBossGrilling does is show you the current temperatures and provides no advantage over just going to the grill. I am constant being asked to update the firmware with the same firmware which takes 6 minutes and you can’t use your phone for anything else or you have to start over. So disappointing!! The developer should take a lesson from Weber’s igrill, it works like anyone would expect! I hope Pit Boss is listening as this has the potential of being great!

This is, by far, one of the least user friendly apps I’ve ever had. Before the last update, when they totally overhauled PitBossGrilling , it was decent. Now, it is horrible. I can’t search for anything!! There isn’t a back button, so whenever you look at a recipe, you have to start all over with the menu.

I just wish PitBossGrilling was as good as there grills!! I love my pellet grill. It has served its purpose many times and works awesomely!!

To PitBossGrilling guys, please look at top rated cooking apps and try to replicate what they do for their users!!

Imagine buying an $800 grill, getting it home, assembling it for 3 hours only to find out the one feature you wanted to use ( the Bluetooth feature ) is based on a low budget app that doesn’t even work. You can’t control the grill, it constantly asked you to update it and it freezes with each opening. I’m taking this whole grill back. The Lockhart platinum.

I think a 3rd grader could do a better job creating the controls portion of PitBossGrilling . It asks to update the firmware every time the controls are opened therefore rendering it useless as you have to stay within Bluetooth connectivity to continually update. Zero reasons to spend $800 on a unit with this feature when you can find others cheaper without it.

Love PitBossGrilling for recipes on my pitboss. However with the new update it’s horrible. No back button so if you are browsing and want to back out of a recipe to the list of options you have to start over again with the menu. Additionally it is no longer optimized to the iPhone screen. It looks Iike an iPhone 5 screen on my x.

I love my new platinum grill, but pleaseeee make the wireless grilling better! Why do I have to re-link to my grill every time I open PitBossGrilling or unlock my phone? And why can’t I set an alarm for the probe temperatures?? It’s all but worthless using the wireless function.. c’mon now.....
Don’t use any other parts of PitBossGrilling . Just the wireless grill connection is all I want

Message to app developer: the last update was a complete fail. Why is there no back arrow? What good is there in having to go back to the home page when I want to simply back out of a recipe? Also, you need to categorize the recipes by the particular meat, not by some weird description. Please fix it!!

Pointless app. Temperature never matches what the grill says. Probes don’t display correct temperature. Always needs to update, but then won’t complete the update. Only button that works is the power button. Worthless and more time consuming to use than just to sit by the grill and enjoy the smoking process!

PitBossGrilling was tremendous before the update. Now it is very cumbersome. Search function doesn’t work and most of the time it appears as it is stuck. I find it easier to google put boss recipes than using PitBossGrilling which is unfortunate because of the ease that PitBossGrilling used to bring.

Did the pit boss team even test PitBossGrilling out before releasing it? There’s no back button, the search function is garbage. Everything is poorly organized in PitBossGrilling . It has excellent stuff in it, but the design team needs to go back to the drawing board.

PitBossGrilling is incredibly slow and it seems like it’s just their mobile website that has been bogged down by whatever is making it an app. You’re better off either going to their website or downloading the Traeger app.

I already have a PB account that works just fine, downloaded their app just now and my user info is not found. Seems odd since it works on their website just fine. They need to link it all together, I don’t need 2 PB accounts for the same thing.

I don’t have a Bluetooth enabled grill. As a result I’m stuck on the “add device” screen. Apparently I can no longer access any part of PitBossGrilling if I don’t connect a grill that I do not possess. This is a feature that should have been made optional, not a requirement.

you have to be able to back up when reviewing recipes. You also need to be able to keep your recipes in a new folder.
