My Very Hungry Caterpillar AR Reviews

Sorry. It’s slow, little to do and such a disappointment. No story line, no objective and no directions. I bought the two game pac and wish I could get my money back! I’m a preschool teacher and thought the kids would love it, but looks like I’ll delete it instead!

I purchased MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR to play with my toddler and the camera seems to be missing something. I can't get past the"not enough light" warning no matter how many lights I turn on. I also tried going outside where it was bright enough to need sunglasses. The camera image in MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR appears muddy, slightly out of focus and very dark. I've compared what's shown to my camera app and its definitely darker. I have gotten the dots to appear, but no character. I've now tried in multiple locations with round tables, square, smooth, textured and even a grid with no luck. Clearly a bug 🐛 in MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR , pun intended.

Very disappointed for a featured app.

Can I give it ZERO stars? It does not work. It does nothing and there are no directions at all. I get a screen that tells me to wave my phone around (I think). Then little colored discs fly around and then the screen turns black and it exits MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR . Do yourself a favor and save your $3.

Augmented reality can’t make up for this no point app that’s literally mind numbingly boring. Kids will learn absolutely nothing from MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR. But if you want them to space out and lose brain cells, while you do your own thing by all means waste your money on it.

After installing the free app and opening it, first thing is a pop up that says play. Click it, and it launches you back to MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR store to the same/similar app, but with $1.99 listing. What? Back to MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR , and you’ll find lots of hidden ads/ways for MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR to get you back to MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR store to buy other apps from the developer. What trick is this? Very deceiving and definitely not for kids.

So, I was excited to play this with my 1.5 year old. I opened MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR and all I see is black on my screen. I can hear the serene sound but nothing is appearing in my screen, just pure darkness. I’m not sure what to do... Looks like a great game and I did pay for it I’m also using an iPad... PleaseHelp!!!

I uninstalled and I tried to reinstall and now it’s saying MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR isn’t compatible with my IPad Air2!! I want a full refund!!!

Love the original app, and thought this would be fun, but it never works when I need it for my kids. Not enough light (in daylight or in a store). You have to have a flat surface and be in one stationary position. Not a fan.

You have to hold the camera pointed down at a flat surface for it to work. For an iPad that means holding it up in the air while you play and it's too heavy to do that comfortably for long. Perhaps it works better on a phone.

My granddaughter and I loved MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR when we used it 6 months ago. I’ve been gone, and now that we are using it again, there seem to be some glitches. It often won’t load, just showing that moving rectangle and arrows. Sometimes the screen won’t respond to tapping, so the caterpillar won’t go to sleep or the fruit won’t appear. At times the caterpillar seems to wander away and then fly back thru the air, which is kind of strange. This is a great app, so please fix these issues. Thanks!

MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR is very creative and cute but I’m a little disappointed it doesn’t completely follow the Very Hungry Catepillar storyline
Is there any way you could add the last day where he eats all sorts of food and then gets sick and eats a leaf before growing his chysiliss and becoming a butterfly
Then this would be perfect to go show while reading the book

Sitting here with the cute little hungry caterpillar playing with a toy ball and eating apples all in front of my giggling 2 yr old. Love this!

iPhone 8 works again with MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR.

It’s fun and my young son loves it, not a deep game but for what it is, it’s done really well.

I love MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR , my three little girls have blast playing with it. However, I can’t help but to notice the lack of the song and story we are so used to watch. My daughters know that by heart, can even tell you the entire story.

I would love to see a second mode where we would have a predefined course or set of actions for the caterpillar so it would match the song. Just an idea.

This is amazing!! As a grown adult, I enjoyed it!! I always play apps/games before showing them to my kids and I can’t wait to show them! They’re going to LOVE it!!!!

While there is little storyline, and no real directions, if a child has heard the story it can enable them to figure out the object of this game, to move through the story.

This is so fun like a real hungry caapilar from the story into real life. Maybe it would be better to make all of the apps you already made become even more free! Don’t forget the purchases and make all the stuff that is in that app free to! 😊

I loved MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR it was spectacular. Everything about it was so fun. My children 6 and 4 loved MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR and was one of the only apps they used. I found MyVeryHungryCaterpillarAR on AppAdvice but I think it’s totally worth buying it. You can color and my kids just adore every time they hatch the butterfly and watch it fly . #thebest😁.

The game is really good and it’s very calming with all the pretty colors and the music, and the loop is amazing. Maybe you could add more things to interact with the caterpillar, using games and maybe being able to pet it. Overall you could only add to this game to make it better.
