Not surprised ROOTSPORTS has a 1.5 star average! Comcast is a provider of Root Sports the TV Channel but Root and Comcast/Xfinity can’t come up with an agreement so we can stream this on our mobile devices and Tablets??? Root is in bed with DirectTV! All root tells customers is to contact their TV provider to ask them to allow live stream of root sports. It’s been years of this exact same crap. Root please stop telling us to contact our TV provider! Clearly this doesn’t work and it’s your job Root Sports to contact the TV providers and come up with the agreements that will be required for live stream. Your just wasting our time by asking us to contact our TV providers who obviously aren’t going to do anything about it!!! App installed for 30 seconds gets a 1 Star review which should be zero stars if possible and now it’s deleted as it’s completely useless for me!

Root sports has said for YEARS that it’s the providers problem that they aren’t being carried more. Bull. This is a Root sports issue. Hire better sales people if you’re having problems marketing yourself to providers. You obviously fail at life more than you’re crappy business policies. I honestly hope Washington State shuts down Root sports or the Mariners terminate the contract in favor of someone else. It’s crazy to think the Mariners wouldn’t make more money bringing their services and negotiations in house but obviously the management that has led the Ms to the most feckless 20 years of baseball in modern history is reflecting that same drive in its management of its television contracts...Losers.

ROOTSPORTS doesn’t show many of the cable providers and the Search only looks at the same small list. So it’s useless! They don’t answer contact emails and their main phone only has a recording to read their useless FAQs! They brag about having the contracts and blocks ESPN from showing games but what their guide says is showing is never what is actually on! We were so excited about watching the Kraken play hockey here in Oregon but instead it’s fishing, boxing, or what ever else but not what they advertise!
Release the blackout contract if you can’t provide the service! Easily one on the worst sport channels out there!

Greetings Ooyala devs and community manager, it has been a while since we last spoke. I hope you have had time to update your copy and paste response.

The lack of cable provider support does not fall on the customer. Comcast, a carrier which you do not support, is a $182 billion company. Frontier Communications, another major carrier you don’t support, is a $200 million company. If you are going to suggest that a single customer is going to have one iota of influence over these companies, then you are clearly not acknowledging the real issue. I suggest you the developer and your parent company AT&T allow streaming for these competitors instead of trying to drive people to DirectTv.

If you don’t plan on doing any of these things, please just admit it in your response. Say, we don’t allow competitors to stream our content. Don’t pussyfoot around it for another season missleading customers that support will come if they just reach out to their cable company.

I read a review that said Root Sports keeps saying to contact your provider for access. I agree with their statement in the review. Root sports service is horrible and it is on Root Sports to make their channel/streaming available to other providers. The PAC 12 Network and Root Sports must have the same executives. They are both 4th rate in making their channels available. Luckily the very few games that Root has that are worth watching can be streamed through VPN’s. And Root gets absolutely nothing for this. Maybe they should take what ever little the smart providers are offering and make it available.

With the current state of Root Sports streaming access, you must have a cable or satellite provider other than Comcast that carries Root Sports in order to stream when you're away from home. ROOTSPORTS is pretty and seamless, remembering your credentials between sessions so you can launch it easily. The negative reviews are unfair and complain about Comcast's refusal to support streaming, which is not the developer's fault.

Thank you for the mobile app. Now please support Comcast users or let us pay to log in directly. Comcast is the only TV option where I live, and Root Sports is the only reason I haven't cut the cord. I'd contact Comcast to ask them to do a deal with you guys. But come on. I'm one person and since when does Comcast care about customers? I don't see why it's up to Comcast anyway. Root Sports has the broadcast rights, right? Why not stream directly to users, charge them directly, and keep more money for yourself. It's 2019, don't be bullied into a business model from the 1990s. At least find a way for the two to co-exist...

ROOTSPORTS has no meaning. Instead of contacting my live TV streaming provider, I think it's a better idea to contact all major sports teams/affiliations that partnered up with this ridiculous idea of a provider, and request that as soon as they can get out of this contract with Root sports/AT&T/DirectTV, the sooner the better!! Everybody is ditching cable and outrageously priced satellite tv, and Root sports will inevitably go down with the ship if they keep up their current business plan mindset. Unfortunately, you're in bed with DirectTV, so... Bye Felicia! I will be deleting the Root sports app as quickly as I downloaded it.

I was looking for a way to watch a Major League Rugby match on Root Sport that airs at the same time as the news programs my wife wants to watch. I saw a review that indicated DirecTV customers could access the broadcast so tried it. So easy! Perfect stream! And it performed better than the DirecTV app that was blocking the rugby even though I have rights to that channel. Too bad Comcast folks aren’t getting in, but that’s a Comcast issue.

I have Directv, and can easily watch the games on ROOTSPORTS. But let’s say I go to a buddies house and he has a smart tv, it will not let me screen mirror from my phone to the tv. It lets me pull up the channel programming menu and mirrors that, but once I click the program, the screen goes black on the tv while my phone is showing it. I guess I’m wondering why you can’t do that? It’s literally the only app on my phone that won’t let you screen mirror.

I have root on Comcast would like to watch it on my phone so that I am not stuck in front of the tv. ROOTSPORTS is junk down loaded it to the phone it ask me to log in but my service provider isn’t even listed and when I type it in it doesn’t do a thing. We are in the 21 century where internet rules. Can’t even get it on my roku. Would like to leave neg 1000 stars. I am going to try to use ROOTSPORTS I will give it 2 weeks then I will delete it.... if I was your boss I would FIRE everyone

Doesn’t matter if you pay $200 per month for cable or dish network ROOTSPORTS won’t work with them. Root says to contact your provider but guess what I already pay for the Channel and I would rather chew my arm off than spend time with support on the phone. I don’t get paid by Root sports, do your own work. Instead I’ll just watch whatever ESPN, nbc or fox have on and forget about the mariners. Those networks figured it out without making viewers do their work.

Every time I try to load ROOTSPORTS it tells me there is an error and I can’t get it to stream. Live stream on the website is also not working. I won’t leave a bad rating because obviously something is just messed up right now and didn’t know how else to tell Root Sports.

ROOTSPORTS is the worst video app that I have interacted with. You have to log in multiple times and even then it rarely works Close and restart ROOTSPORTS ? Doesn’t matter. I’d say I get through to the actual content about 33% of the time that I try to use ROOTSPORTS. And I have the necessary cable subscription. So. Bad.

Mariners, for the love of god baseball is already hard to watch on tv, don’t make the actual process of getting the content impossible too! Ditch ROOT!

How in the world do you guys not take it upon yourselves, in a freakin pandemic of all things, to reach out to every tv provider to get streaming service agreements in place? It’s been years and Comcast still isn’t a valid cable provider for ROOTSPORTS so I can stream it? What the hell is the point of ROOTSPORTS if you don’t have the largest cable provider in the country as a partner? ROOTSPORTS won’t live to see the night on my phone ✌️

Wow this is crazy! I saw the terrible reviews. Thought how bad could it be? I want to stream the Mariners this weekend since it’s the first time in 20 years I’ve cared. I have Comcast. I can watch at home, but won’t be home & want to stream it. They only allow you to stream if you have some crazy middle of nowhere cable providers or directtv. How seriously stupid is this!!!!

Quickest app delete in history. Right up there with Chinese spyware fart apps.

If I could give this a zero, I would. It requires knowledge of your cable provider, but does not include Comcast (Xfinity), even though Root Sports NW is available on Comcast. Therefore, even if you’re a Comcast customer, you can’t watch Root Sports Northwest on a mobile device. And it appears that ROOTSPORTS provider has no intention of doing anything about it. I’ll be deleting ROOTSPORTS. Don’t bother downloading it if you live in the Seattle area.

I’ve never rated an app before, but went out of my way to give this 1 star. If zero was an option, I’d do that. Video quality is spotty at best and more often than not, quite bad. Constantly logs you out of your provider and requires you to log in multiple times. Tons of bugs and errors. Can’t streamcast to another device. Truly the worst app I’ve had to use multiple times

So fix it already. Paying tons of money for cable only to be limited to watching Root on home Wifi is stupid and counter to what your customers want. Look at your reviews! Your customers want this so figure it out and get on with it. You’re losing tons of market potential by having such a limited list of cable providers and no other way to pay for the content.

You guys are terrible!! How have you not made this available to Xfinity customers after 2+ years of complaints?? Instead of calling Xfinity I’m going to call the Mariners and Sounders directly, and write them, to drop you as the network that carries their games...Trash.. Nice 1 min download and delete. GARBAGE!! The FCC should fine you for everyday you dont make it available to pay subs.

So let me make sure I understand this... At&t owns DirecTV... DirecTV creates DirecTV NOW as the premium streaming service and At&t SportsNet rebrands Root Sports and it is not on the list of available packages? Not one? YOU ARE CONNECTED IN A FAMILY OF COMPANIES. In Utah I cannot watch a single Utah Jazz game but I’m so happy I can watch the friggin Orlando Magic... seriously?! Give me a freaking break. I understand you own the rights for all broadcast for the Jazz until 2021 but at least put it on DirecTV now... Extremely disappointing.

It’s insane that this company hasn’t solved a better streaming program. It’s not like streaming sports is a new technology that just sprung up, this has been happening for years and years. You should’ve been thinking ahead of the game before you signed whatever agreement you are currently stuck in. I pray that the Timbers find a way to drop you as the broadcasting company.

Sadly you choose to not allow any competing providers the ability to stream in hopes of people switching to direct tv. A smart business plan would be to figure out how to work together instead of acting like a small child and stomping your feet while screaming no. At least you got credit for another download, too bad it was deleted shortly after

Clearly this is not the first review to complain about the lack of support for Comcast. It should say something about your company when you have more small companies that are unknown than big cable providers. Spectrum is also missing. Clearly Root cares more about stiffing their competition and less about their customers.
