Horrible. Won’t connect with listing

Zillow3DHome is easy to use. Very easy. However, Zillow is more often than not unable to match the tour with the listing. Zero of the dozens of Zillow tours that I have uploaded have connected the way they are supposed to. Every single time I upload a Zillow tour, I have to contact Zillow support to have them assign the tour to the correct address. Even when I copy the address from the live listing, Zillow can’t automatically match it up the way it is supposed to. And, sometimes it takes several days and even up to a couple of weeks for support to match the tour to the listing.
Email support with Zillow is next to nonexistent, so that makes linking these tours to the right listing almost impossible. Good luck because most of my clients now hate using Zillow because of this very reason.

Does not work with iPhone 11

Tried for an hour to get Zillow3DHome to function as advertised after watching 4 different utube instructionals. Nothing worked in taking a pano using Zillow3DHome . Even called Zillow and got a voice message saying they would call me back. Still waiting to hear back from them. I even emailed an inquiry and have yet to get a response. This home marketing tool has very limited adoptions and use. Strategically it make amazing so much sense to use it but not if users can use easily and in fighting to get it to work. Very disappointed.!

Crashes and tour is not editable

Uploaded a 3D tour using my Ricoh Theta Z1 a couple weeks ago, it processed and uploaded to the listing as normal (been doing these for YEARS). This time, Zillow3DHome crashed every time I tried to reposition arrows and correct things like I normally do. Today I tried re-uploading a tour using my iPhone 14 Pro. Same deal. Processed (took much longer), uploaded each scan and then posted to listing. No views, crashes every time I try to use it like a public user and can only edit one or two arrows before it crashes.

Horrible App for 3D

I was going to use this along with my current platform which is Matterport. First time I tried to use this, it was a complete failure. It didn’t scan one room. I tried multiple times and it just would not work. Sad that this must be used in order to be a Zillow Partner as a photographer. I’ll just hustle and do what I do rather than having this platform to get any business. Thanks for nothing Zillow with this crap app.

Outdoor shots always fail to process

Zillow3DHome causes me more stress than anything else in my work life. I have to use Zillow3DHome on nearly a daily basis and every time I use it it kills my entire phone battery within an hour, makes everything else run slower and even messes with the brightness of my screen. Ever since I downloaded Zillow3DHome my phone has not worked properly but I can’t delete it because I use it for work.

If I had the choice I would never download Zillow3DHome. If I could give 0 stars I would.

100 percent fail

trying to create a rental listing. added app to iphone, created 3D tours of each room. these all appear in Zillow3DHome but do not appear in zillow. and there is no way to connect them to zillow. zillow has zero human support, only robots. and it has been one struggle after another. rental listing editor in Media section does not know about the 3D tours on my phone. there is a "ready to finish" but nothing happens. so far , massive waste of time.

Broken

Zillow3DHome freezes trying to transfer scans from my Theta V to my iPhone or iPad. It’s the same issue with both devices. It will scan once, and then the second scan it will freeze. I’ll then have to restart Zillow3DHome , delete the failed scan, and then rescan it. Then the next scan will freeze and I’ll have to do it again. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Zillow3DHome on both my iPhone and iPad. I’ve restored my Theta V to factory default settings. The camera connects and works fine with Matterport and with the Theta app, it just freezes up with Zillow 3D.

The latest update left me high and dry...

Bought a new iPod touch 7th gen two days ago for use with Zillow and other equipment that has iOS requirements. When to do a couple of tours this morning and Zillow3DHome would not load. Uninstalled the reinstalled several times. Restarted several times to no avail. Had to have my wife bring me her iPad that was working with the ap. Double checked the requirements for the latest version and I was using iOS 12.4 and the Zillow app requirements say it only needs 12.2. In an effort I went ahead and updated my iOS to 13.5 which did finally fix my issue but left me high and dry in front a client. You should never put your photographers in that situation. You get only 1 star.

4.15 Broken

Update is broken - don’t update to this one. Wasted over an hour today trying to capture a home (and an hour’s worth of Ricoh Theta Z1 battery life... which is grueling for this business with limited battery). After capturing one pano, screen just stalls waiting for capture to send from Z1 to phone, loading loading loading...) Shut off phone, hard reset on 360 camera... nothing. Wish I could roll back to previous version. Property was over an hour from my office so getting the 3D Home boost is going to be a pain. Zillow - please fix asap!!

They aren’t progressing

Zillow3DHome was hard to deal with from the very beginning. It’s almost like they didn’t want to beta test before launching. Now those bugs are out, but here is why my rating is low...

1) I had to buy a used ipad because they don’t support Samsung even though Samsung is the most popular phone brand at 20% of the market and apple only at 14.

2) the user can’t edit paths when the tour is complete. Other apps allow me to edit the paths myself. Since Zillow doesn’t know where some rooms lead, you run into dead ends A LOT.

3) They aren’t improving these things, yet they also don’t allow you to embed 360 tours from other brands so you are stuck using a subpar app.

4) I have been using them since the start and had my “Zillow certification” status for 3 or 4 years. even though I am the same owner of a different company, I am forced to reapply for the cert again AND now instead of just uploading videos, they changed their rules to require 360 uploads. Why require something when people sometimes prefer not to use your app for it?

The only reason I use Zillow3DHome is because about half of my agents want these tours on Zillow as well

Easy, but not user friendly

They say arrows are to appear, but they never showed up in my footage. I waited for days …

No place for me to get my questions answered.

They say you have to start all over once you upload and click on FINISH, which is a bit unnerving. And they don’t tell you how to indulge tiny rooms …

The quality of images are way lower than native

Not sure why, but I tried 3 different 3d cameras, including the top options from Ricoh and Insta360, and while those cameras take great images on their own, the Zillow app shoots in very low quality.
Also glad that they just added support for Insta360 cameras, but so far no HDR mode. Hope it comes soon!

Good product

I use the Zillow 360 app with the Theta S camera for real estate tours and it does a fair to good job depending on the paint colors in the home. If the home has dark colors the results will be fair and if light or white colors it will be good. If the kitchen cabinets look a slight orange ( which many do ) the results can be a garish orange color which you can’t change in Zillow3DHome . This brings me to my main negative point, there is absolutely no way to make needed adjustments in Zillow3DHome such as white balance which makes a huge difference in the final results. That and a battery that’s a little small. If you shoot mostly newer homes with brighter colors you will like Zillow3DHome with this camera.

Really bummed that I can’t upload my own 360 photos

I have a gear 360 camera, which supports, google street view connections and I hate how I’m limited on the compatibility of cameras! It is super dumb that I would have to buy a really expensive 360 camera in order to use a free app! Please add google street view compatibility, and add 360 photo uploads! How can you develop a whole algorithm to stitch iPhone photos to a 360 photo but not have the option to upload a pre-processed 360 image! please consider these changes!

Great but needs updates/new features

Zillow3DHome is great but it needs a few new features to make it really useful. You should be able to update a tour after upload, or change the order of captures. You should also be able to customize the walkthrough, since the algorithms make mistakes on where each room should be relative to others.

Very good

Putting together in interactive tour with just an iPhone (or a 360° cam and tripod for even better results) in just about an hour is totally possible. Once I link two rooms why not have Zillow3DHome automatically create an editable link back by default..? I also think that being able to add 3D-labels to objects would be great (although placing them correctly in 3D space might be a challenge). Still not sure how several panos within one room/area are supposed work when it comes to linking..? Also, none of the examples appear to demonstrate the 2D floor plan created with markers, why..?
I also don’t understand why adding a pano after the fact destroys all links, seems unnecessary.
But all that said, great offering for free!

Good app for home pics

It is nice to use but it would be good if it explained how to stitch together the 360 view more easily. It should allow modifications more easily. It should allow video of walking from room to room and stitch these to the 360 degree views. Walks around gardens would be nice as well.

App is so much better with 360 camera

Zillow3DHome is great with the 360 camera. I was between the only reason I bought the Theta V is for Zillow3DHome. Zillow you need to include the Insta 360 X. That camera is much better and easier to use than the Theta V.

Best way to efficiently view a home

Over the year Zillow3DHome has improved a great deal when it comes to creating a 3D tour of a home. It’s reasonably intuitive, and quick to set up.

Latest Update

Latest update is awful to the point of unusable. Responses to all user inputs on iPad while connected to Theta Z1 take ridiculously long... 15 to 30 seconds. I will not be using the Zillow app until this is resolved but rather upload 3D tours to other platforms. Disappointing!

Update is Horrible

The update on Zillow3DHome has made it impossible to edit tours. Zillow3DHome is no longer a quick and easy way to produce home tours.

Unless they revert back to the original edit tools, it’s not worth using.

Easy use great added value!

I use it with my iPhone 12. Very easy to use, great quality pictures and an extra value to the listing on the Zillow site. Also it’s another service I can offer to my seller.

Easy to Use

Zillow3DHome makes it easy to do those 360 shots that really help listings. I used my I phone camera and did it free hand and it worked great. Don’t try to get crazy with perfection - I tried using a tripod and ran into issues so after an hr I gave up and just did it - don’t worry, jump in and get it done!

Great when it works

There are some bugs in the software which at times can make it difficult to use. A week later they will update the software and all is well again. Great all around when it works as it should.

Photographer’s Dream

Zillow3DHome is great for real estate photographers whose marketplace is governed by agents that have a limited budget. By using a 360 camera the images are captured very quickly. Most of the editing is done by Zillow. And the listing gets prime placement on the MLS and Zillow. Clients love it. Agents love it. I love it ❤️Best value for the buck.
