I enjoyed ShineDay but the the recent interface update was really disappointing. As a product manager myself, I’m leaving the review here hoping to help you improve:
1. The whole layout is ver confusing with multiple functions on the same screen, some of which I don’t even understand and certainly don’t need. For example, what’s “Counter”?
2. Simple recurring task such as marking a task as complete now requires multiple taps.
3. You got rid of “longest streak” feature, which is what I really enjoyed. Your designer certainly has done no research on what actually motivates users to keep tagging a habit.

I loved ShineDay on my iPhone that I bought the yearly subscription. (It’s totally price worthy) it’s super cute yet minimalistic and there is a widget for it that helps even more with keeping track of your daily habits. I sure this is a must for girls as it is cute and not boring like other apps. BUT, there is a huge syncing issue across devices. I recently downloaded it on my iPad as sometimes I’m on my iPad more than my iPhone and realize that there is not immediate syncing. I literally have to sync on my iPhone and then “restore” the sync on my iPad. This is way too much work for an app that should easily sync across iCloud. I hope this gets fixed soon, syncing across devices plays a major part when I am using apps. :(

The hand written art style is super engaging and cute, and although some of the notes arent translated it’s super easy to figure out how to use. There is a bit of broken english but its more endearing than a hinderance. I would love to see more data chart options showing my streaks over time, although I love the style of the year view as is. I would also like to see the ability to log the same habit multiple times a day! Overall very promising, I’ve tried nearly all the habit trackers on ShineDay store and this is my favorite!

I wish this developers other apps had this ones level of english support, I would download them in a heartbeat! Unfortunatly in their current state I couldn’t figure out how to use them. :(

I’ve been using ShineDay on and off for over 5 years now and it’s very easy to use. It helps me to keep a to do list for my daily routine without writing one out everyday, while still providing the satisfaction of “checking” things off. I took off a star because I wish there was a way to remove the streak counter. It makes ShineDay feel too competitive to me and makes me feel bad for missing on my bad days/discourages me from returning. I also wish I could adjust the start of the day and end of the day time, since I work third shift, but that bothers me less than the streak/combo thing.

Hi, I have downloaded ShineDay for a while and I actually paid for the life long membership because I like the concept a lot, also bonus points for the nice interface design. Unfortunately I found out today that there’s no syncing option between multiple devices. I was adding a bunch of habits I wanted to keep track of in my iPad and found out later that they don’t show up in my IPhone. I used to track my habits in bullet journal, so this is cool and convenient. I sincerely hope to see the developer continue to improve ShineDay. Thanks.

The most recent update to ShineDay which allows for dark mode, doesn’t allow you to add a background image anymore! Seems like it just needs to be fixed.

Other than this, I honestly love ShineDay and use it on a daily basis to keep track of my habits! The language isn’t a big deal because there’s only a few instances where it’s Chinese and you can fully use ShineDay otherwise. I’m super visual so the visual aspects of ShineDay are GREAT!

I enjoy the unique look and style of this journal. It is very visual. You can write as much as you want, but you don’t have to.
Even though a lot of it is not in English, there’s enough to get the gist of what to do.
Taking time during the day each day to reflect, in order to keep my promises to myself to be a better manager of my time is definitely helping lift my mood and be more positive.
If there were the possibility to finish translating ShineDay, I’d give it 5 stars.

Aesthetically pleasing and cute design which motivates me to log my tasks. You can log more than 3 tasks and the upgrade price is the cheapest offer I’ve seen so far. There’s an English option in settings, so the complainants about it being in Chinese seem really ignorant.
However I do need help - I don’t see a widget option for the home screen. The description says it’s available but it’s not showing up for me. There’s no FAQ bubble for me to ask so please help. Thank you!

I paid for 6 months so that I can Give ShineDay more value for my mentality and I have a large widget on my first screen below my apps. I’m reading Atomic Habits and ShineDay makes the habits attractive and I build plenty of anticipation to check off the task, plus the sound is plenty rewarding it’s all cute lol. I don’t mind deciphering the broken English at all, like another review said I find it quite endearing. Thanks I’m loving ShineDay !!

Love ShineDay. It has been constantly upgraded which I appreciate. Its interface looks neat and pretty and it’s easy to navigate. There are features you can use to customize each habits, like different frequency and identifiers, and make it convenient for you to record. I’m surprised and super satisfied with ShineDay !!

yesterday on october 1, I had purchased the yearly subscription. its only $4.99 yearly. you can have unlimited habits, over 300 more icons, have every color, no ads & more. i was watching lana blakely and she motivated me to be productive. so i did have ShineDay before, but never purchased it. i was able to input all my habits and now i want to buy the whole app.

ShineDay really helps me organize my life, however with the new update it’s starting to not be as great as it used to be. The “morning” “afternoon” and “night” sections are now in simplified Chinese, and it’s harder for me to understand and I think there should be an option to switch it back to English like it was before. Very upset with this new update. Please change it back!!

Such a lovely app. It has a simple, uncluttered interface, but has functionality in just the right places.
You can write mini journal entries each time you check off a habit, and see your monthly progress with each one.
ShineDay is especially good if you want to establish a daily routine, since you have the option to set a few habits for morning, noon, and night.
I also love how we have our choice in colors and cute icons for each habit :) but i would love to see a wider variety of icons for different activities!

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for - cute and visual interface, ability to customize, and you can “group” into different times of the day (morning, night, etc/plus make custom ones too!). I’m using it to help build daily habits, and it’s working. If you are looking for a cute, customizable way to help build daily habits, this one’s a keeper. See someone’s previous review about how to have it in English :) and don’t let that deter you!

Super super cheap vip options less than 1$ a month and SO many icons to assign to habits. As other reviewers have stated it’s not a perfect app and it definitely needs some more translation but even with that issue I can use it easily and I absolutely love it!! You can also choose unique sounds to play as reminders and they’re all very melodic and nice to listen to 10/10 definitely renewing my sub

Simple Suggestion: Please put an English translation or language selection option in ShineDay, it’s highly requested! 💕

First few minutes into using ShineDay I completely fell in LOVE with it! I bought the Pro version because 5 tasks just wasn’t enough and the cute themes are to die for. I used Google Translate to translate most of ShineDay and it helps astronomically. I recommend ShineDay and getting the Pro version if you want to get motivated and stay motivated. ✨😇

This is an amazing app. I read and speak chinese fluently so that part doesn’t throw me off. But the best part of ShineDay is how visual it is and how great everything looks. Don’t let a few Chinese characters throw you off, you don’t need to understand them.
I love hitting the buttons for my habits, it’s very satisfying. The cards for the perfect days are beautiful and I love the quotes. The tracking is great and the premium is well worth it. Thanks for making such a great app.

At the beginning of the year I downloaded multiple habit tracking apps to test them out, and this was the one I ended up liking the most and buying premium for (plus its super affordable!). I love the look and layout of ShineDay, it truly motivates me to work on my habits each day because I love the satisfaction of checking things off. I find it really easy to use once you get the hang of it. I would definitely recommend ShineDay if you’re trying to add new habits to your routine!

It’s been about year now since I’ve started using ShineDay. I can safely say it’s a mainstay on my phone now. I can really see how much love is put into ShineDay whenever a new update comes out because it always includes some new feature that someone wanted. Like more icons and a counter to log the same habit more once in a day. This newest update introduces a new widget for iOS 14. I find myself missing the menu and check a habit off from the older widget itself though.

When I first got ShineDay, I was really disappointed by how many details of ShineDay was in Chinese! I would change the language preference to English and refresh it over and over. After fiddling with it for a while, I learned that you need to make custom cards to have the titles in English! Because I’ve done this, ShineDay is much more easy to navigate. So glad that I figured this out and didn’t just delete such a cute app!

These reviews have to be fake. Why would anyone take the time to translate an app when you can't even copy the text? That screams fake. Now ShineDay has some English translations, yes, but it's all extremely broken English. And it's not everywhere. One of the habits suggested is "Roll my eyes." Uh, what? Lol. Yes, ShineDay is translated but it's too much work to constantly try to understand what they mean on almost every button. "When on a day: Wakeup, Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Evening." "Brush teeth USING LEFT HAND." That's such an important goal it's one of the top suggestions... "TAKE AN EGG." Do they mean EAT an egg? Also why should anyone consider that a good habit? How about eat some oatmeal? The "context" button is actually the time. The developer could have asked any person who speaks decent English to help them out. There are so many wrong translations, not just a few. The whole app is a mess if you speak English. I mean, yeah it is cute, sure, but is that enough to give it a 5 star review? I usually reserve 1 stars for when I've personally lost something or had a terrible experience, but fake reviews make me angry so 1 star it is. There are so many of them. I wasn't even mad until I saw them.

I love the addition of the new colors. I’ve been using ShineDay for a little over a year now and that’s a testament to how much I’ve come to rely on it to remind me of any structures in my life.

My only complaint is that sometimes when an old habit is changed, it doesn’t update on the widget. I could always introduce it as a new habit but I feel sad to lose my streaks.

i really like the aesthetic of ShineDay. it’s very cute and convenient. i just wish i could add more habit goals without it costing money. i genuinely believe that ShineDay should be free with unlimited access. lastly, this isn’t a big issue as i know that ShineDay isn’t made in an english-speaking country, it would be a lot easier if we had an option for languages. in ShineDay mostly everything is english some aren’t. the only time is when i get notifications. as i said again, this isn’t too big of an issue. maybe i should just learn chinese lol. anyways don’t feel pressured to add english, i just added that bc maybe adding a language feature may increase the amount of people attracted to ShineDay . overall, i love it!

i love the look of ShineDay as it’s simple, cute, and pretty customizable. i actually bought the pro version of ShineDay and have enjoyed the unlocked themes, icons, and extra habits. my biggest complaint is that ShineDay still has portions in another language, even though i switched the language in settings to english. i can’t even read about the updates ShineDay has made as all of their messages come through in another language. also, i wish there was a way to duplicate a habit in the same day (for example, washing my face in the morning and at night) as it would be a lot simpler than having to create 2 separate habits for the same task.

I absolutely love ShineDay, it’s such a simple, cute, efficient and pleasing app to use. I am a VIP member and I don’t regret it at all. Thank you for the new icons with the latest update, they helped out a lot. The only thing i’d like to request is maybe more background themes or english translation but i understand that chinese to english translation is quite difficult due to sentence structure & order. Aside from that, ShineDay is absolutely perfect. Thank you! :)

Habit trackers are a matter of personal preference, but I ultimately found this app to be the best balance of functional and customizable. The interface is extremely cute and I felt more attached to the icons I had set up in comparison to other habit trackers. The developer seems motivated to continue building ShineDay (as evidenced by a recent update), and the lifetime price at $2.99 seems very reasonable.

A very helpful app. Just two suggestions:
1. If one habit has been checked in before the reminding time, the reminder should be deactivated automatically.
2. It would be better if there could be some options with the reminder alarm, e.g. remind me in 30min/ 1 hour etc.
