The manual tapping feature is terrible. I mean it does get you close I guess. But I can do that by listening. I want Tempi to tell me exact. Also the listening feature doesn’t know what sounds it’s listening too and the tempo can change from 110 to 87 just because they hit a drum twice or sing more syllables in a measure. I’ll find something else.

Tempi is perfect for both beginning and experienced musicians and everyone in between. You play and it gives you the bpm average and shows you where you speed up and slow down. The free version lets you record 30 seconds of music. I'd like to see the free version let you record a little longer. But the in app purchases are reasonably priced.

This is a great concept, and it works most of the time. I will say that once you get into more advanced rhythms, this will not be accurate. I teach a drumline, and there are definitely limits to what Tempi can do; however, it comes in very handy for helping newer members get eighth and sixteenth note patterns in time when practicing on their own.

I am a pro drummer and have used Tempi in performance quite a bit. It is a great safety net and really helps to me to feel solid in a very natural way. My time feels much more consistent and confident after when I remove it from the equation as well! I have a few minor suggestions, but bravo on what has become one of my most efficient tools! I only have a couple minor suggestions.

I love that it records, but it would be great to have the option to not record. Recording drains the battery very quickly, thus making it unusable for longer recordings if you cannot plug in your device.

Also, it would be amazing to be able to minimize Tempi while being able to use another app simultaneously. ie. sheet music app, fourscore, etc.

I recommend it to my students and colleagues. People are always amazed and wonder why they have never heard of it! As is, it is still incredible and I will continue to utilize and recommend it to anyone that may benefit. Thank you for the wonderful tool!

Great little app. As a drummer, I start recording starting a song and watch the tempo as the band works through it. Very responsive and applicable.

Super accurate and easy to use! Was skeptical but after testing Tempi it is spot-on. Could not be happier!

Very nice product. I play guitar without a drummer (fingerpick and strum mostly) and it seems to be pretty accurate. As I tend to speed up during a performance, I suggest adding a visual bar across the screen that changes color if I slow down or speed up outside of a predetermined BPM. For example, if it is red I need to speed up, if green I am within an acceptable range of BPM, and if blue I need to slow down. That would be much easier and quicker to interpret if using at practice or on stage. I did suggest this as an improvement through Tempi 's "Contact Us" link. If you like the idea, please let them know.

I love how easy this is to use. Nice feature to play back and review your recording in case you don't want to watch it live as you play. Great app!

Used this to help with my own playing and as a band. Definitely zeros in on the trouble spots with a friendly interface. Great way to get better time.

I love getting better at keeping a consistent tempo, but I hate having a metronome on all the time :p. Tempi is perfect- I can identify and review where I’m slowing down and speeding up!

Tempi really has helped me with my rythem and it continues to have cool features that keep Tempi working! I only wish it had a built in metronome

Never had a great way to visualize my ability to stay on tempo. this app is a nice tool to help internalize a tempo by seeing it charted out as you play. Keep it up!

As a recording engineer, I think this app is a useful tool to point out drifts in timing for the band during tracking sessions.
The color schemes are terrific and avoid killing the vibe in the room.

As a guitar player trying to teach myself drums it's helping me learn to stay focused, steady and in the pocket!

If there was an option for routing the apps bpm info into a wireless mixer app (like the xr18) so the reverb and delay plugins could sync up that would be an awesome feature for live gigs

I've used this app to confirm tempos in rehearsal and keep myself honest regardless of how energetic I feel that day. For recording sessions, it keeps you steady enough to make punching in easy. Probably doesn't lock you down enough for seamless edits for intricate parts that go along with sequences, but we'll see!

About time someone thought of this! Lets your band play at your speed but also lets you work on not speeding up during your songs. And not burdened with a bunch of the silly
“features” that app designers always seem to feel the need to include to obscure what was originally a good idea. Nice work! Keep it simple!
The next step in the evolution of the metronome is finally here.

I use this live every night to make sure my tempos are right to match up with any sequenced phrases that I use during the night. Also, if anyone in the band says “you’re playing too fast” or “too slow” I can check to make sure my tempo is the same as it was the night before and the night before that.
If this were a standalone piece of hardware, with a count off feature, every drummer would buy it.

Only used this once so far, but plan to keep it as part of my gig setup. Today was an acoustic gig with me on cajon. this app did a great job of reading our live tempo. We tend to rush a bit we get louder so it was good to see that feedback so I could work on keeping the band on pace. Don’t try to over correct too quickly, that will just sound bad. Love Tempi . Sound quality wasn’t great but it was right by me and not my top need. Also would love to have access to the tempo chart you see live when save a song/performance.

Keeps me on beat, like a maestro looking over my shoulder ready to whack me with his baton. Also: messing around with turntables for beat matching. Lots to explore. Sensitivity and responsiveness is on point. Well done!
