Reviewed after 280 minutes of use, about a dozen (12) rides:
Poorly maintained bicycles. Hand holds fall off, bells rarely work, brakes almost never function up to acceptable specs and in this time of pandemic, you’d think they could keep the bikes clean. Once a day? Week? Month? Come on, get with it!! This is even more ‘life and death’ than the other “accidents” you should expect to suffer with these bike shares. Minor peeve: Seats almost all have sun damage. They are cracked and retain moisture after rain. Unpleasant, but not potentially deadly like some of their other problems—no worries, you’ll dry quickly most days. There are a whole host of other problems. Really disappointed!!!! After reading reviews, I will make sure to double-check my credit card statement for overcharges. Minutes certainly vanish. Maybe it’s the docking stations?
I cannot recommend, not even for one casual ride. Mothers, don’t let your kids on them, and certainly don’t let them grow up to be Biki statistics.

This app works fine for seeing where bikes are available, but do not buy a subscription using it. I bought the Free Spirit subscription on the app, then tried to unlock bikes at 8 different stations with no success. Never got a passcode, app wouldn’t recognize the fact that I was near a station. Finally, I bit the bullet and just bought a subscription at the kiosk of one of the bike stations which immediately gave me a passcode.
Bike worked fine. Has 3 gears. I think it’s a good service as long as you check your bike before renting to ensure it’s functional.
I’d give this a higher rating, but after paying for two subscriptions, and contacting customer service for a refund on the first unusable subscription without getting a response, I can’t give a good review at this time. If Biki reaches out and refunds my first payment, I’ll give a better review.

I usually don’t write reviews but here I am.
I messaged the Executive Director about this already, but he clearly does NOT care about his customers whatsoever. My first time using the app as my first time in Honolulu. I went on a 5-7 minute bike ride around the city and returned it to the station. The next day, I got a call saying I had a charge of $103 because the bike was not locked.
I explained the situation to him exactly what happened and he said there’s nothing he can do and that it’s my fault and he cannot refund the money. Are you freaking serious. A 5 minute bike ride turned into $100 out of my bank account.
Very dissapointed in Biki and Bikeshare Hawaii because they do not care about their customers’ experience. They do not care what the customer had to go through, they just want every dollar out of our pocket. Any other transportation app such as LimeBike/Lyft/Wheels would of refunded the money by now if I had complained.
Not Biki. They don’t care. If they do they will return a message. Peace.
