It does what it says it’ll do

Edit: so this worked for awhile, but now the option to block ads in apps keeps turning off randomly (sometimes even seconds after I turn it on). I did notice that the option to restore purchase was available, but I don’t think it’s restoring my original purchase. Even if, for whatever reason, you couldn’t permanently block ads, I wish the ad blocker in apps would stay on for a certain length of time (like 12 or 24 hours) until it turned off.

I downloaded several apps claiming to block ads in apps; however, none of them lived up to the claim. I read a few reviews for AdBlock and decided to jump feet first. The upgrade was $1.99, so what the heck. I downloaded it, set it up (which was super easy) and opened a game that I enjoy playing, except for the ad it plays after every single turn. No ads whatsoever. I went through 12 turns without ads and decided to jump on here and leave a review.

The only one I’ve found that works.

I tried seven or eight of them, all claiming to block in app ads. I thought this was crap, but decided to try the upgrade, so I paid for the upgrade and it DOES work. I realize you get what you pay for in this world. None of the other apps did what they claimed and I didn’t even bother to give them a crappy review.

I paid for Adblock with the black icon and orange writing which claimed to block the ads, it’s crap. This one actually works in Safari for free, and in-app ads if you purchase the upgrade. Don’t even bother with any of the others, they’re all crap. This is easy to set up as well. I’d give more stars if they had them.

READ BEFORE INSTALLING! NOT FREE!

I feel the description of AdblockGreen is a bit misleading. Although the option to block ads on Safari is free, you must pay to block ads in apps. Isn’t that what we all really want? There’s no mention in the description of a paid upgrade necessary to do this.
Also, something else to notice is the developers instructions that “Adblock requires to set a fake VPN to block ads”. This is done by opening >Settings >Safari >Content Blockers and enabling AdBlocker. Then, your phone will open a notification alerting you that AdBlocker is requesting access to add a VPN Configuration. I personally don’t feel comfortable allowing VPN access that will most likely continuously run in the background, draining battery life. Just a heads up.

80-90 % ads are gone

Been using it for a couple of months and really like it, what a relief to see only relevant content and not ads. There is a bug though because once in a while AdblockGreen ad blocker turns itself off , I notice when more ads start appearing again. So I simply turn it back on every two days or so. Otherwise simple and effective app. Recommend!

So far so good

Just downloaded AdblockGreen, and its pretty good on blocking ads. I didn’t have to do anything to turn on Safari as blocking, but it seems you need the premium version to block ads on apps. That really doesn’t matter as much; I was just trying to find one for Safari. I went to some pretty ad-infested sites, and none of them showed ads.

Duped by this Adblocker

I’m sorry to have to report this, but for all those people giving AdblockGreen 5 stars, they must be out of their freaking minds, or they are in on this scam to rip people off.

AdblockGreen does not - or at least in my experience, AdblockGreen was not able to block ads on other apps. My solution to this problem turned out to be AdGuard.
Secondly, the general construction and overall user experience of AdblockGreen is so rudimentary that you have zero idea of what AdblockGreen is doing or blocking because it does not notify you of what’s being blocked or when... it tells you nothing.

Great Ad blocker

I’ve tried just about every Ad blocker and I’ve always had an issue with them. Most of them do not work consistently. I had just about given up when I found AdblockGreen. So far it is working really well and seems to block ads reliably. I hope it continues to work this well.

It works well, but it costs 2$ for apps

So i haven’t tested safari yet, but i know it’s free. If you want to block ads from apps it costs a one time payment off 2$, and you set up a vpn configuration. you can toggle this on or off. so far it works as expected, no ads have popped up.

works as intended.

was able to block those annoying flipaclip ads, blockada my old ad blocker had worked well but wasn’t working anymore for some reason. So I did a journey on AdblockGreen Store, and finally found AdblockGreen which blocks flipaclip ads. Thanks.

Great app that DOES work but...

I was having fun playing games with no ads but eventually it bugged or something and all the ads came back. Not sure what to do, but still a great ad blocker overall.

Great!

AdblockGreen never asked me to write a review to activate it, unlike many reviews I read. It works great in safari - blocks everything that usually clutters the screen without any problems! Safari and app ad block are separate toggles in AdblockGreen , which is very nice to control. Works exactly as I wanted it to!

It works in apps!

After locating several ads in apps, i paid to upgrade, then restarted apps. Ads were gone. I would rather support developers by buying a product than viewing commercial.

No more ads! Super stoked!!

This did what I needed. No ads except YT who recently did an update and made it harder to block them. Other than that I’m ad free. Worth the $2 to upgrade for “no ads in apps” I wish I would’ve found this earlier. Great job guys! 👍

Used To Work Now It Doesn’t

AdblockGreen used to block all ads for me but now when I get on twitch it doesn’t block the ads anymore. It does still work for mobile game ads and the browser but that’s about it really. Disappointing since that’s why I had bought it and now it won’t work what I bought it for

Adblock and CNN App

Recently, Adblock no longer opens the CNN App. I can not get the CNN news without disengaging the Adblock app which of course gives me all the ads on the CNN App.

I have reached out to Adblock several times through their feedback link without a response. Additionally, in there setting, there is a App Store link to review the Adblock app. It does not open. Therefore, I came directly here to review from AdblockGreen Store.

I am using a iPad Pro that I am having the issue with.

Garbage app

Out of the 70 million content blocking apps this is probably the worst one that I’ve used for Safari. Why on earth are you blocking JavaScript on websites that they need to load??!! Brute force, indiscriminate script blockers with no real application-based ad blocking capabilities in any other app but safari. U ain’t get me but quit scamming mfs for functionality that isn’t there. It’s like the same programmers that make ransomware make these garbage apps the ransomware sends you to. Kindly pissoff

Great!

AdblockGreen will block ads on safari for free but if you want to block them on ads you need to pay $1.99. But it’s not that much right? Anyway if you do pay it’s worth it! I used this ad block for Crunchyroll and it works amazing.

Worse app invented

I rated it 5 stars so it can be up there in the reviews this has to be the worse app of all time I paid 2 bucks and I’m still getting ads ??? I want my refund!!

It’s okay

I had this before I got a new phone, and had bought premium on it on that phone and it was awesome, but when I got my new phone and tried to restore my purchase, it didn’t work and now AdblockGreen completely doesn’t block ads in my apps anymore.

By

App does not work

I paid $2 to upgrade and it still doesn't work. There are still ads on the tumblr app. I have tried restoring the purchase and even logging out of tumblr and logging back in but that still didn't work and it still says to upgrade even though I already did. DO NOT waste your time with AdblockGreen, they are stealing money from you. Upgrading to pro does NOTHING. There needs to be a major fix on AdblockGreen
