However, I wish it was possible to view the tracking map in full screen mode without the additional information on the lower half of the screen, so that you can view it larger
I found how to save the map with the information discretely overlaid, but the picture quality of the saved map photo, is poor compared to when you view the map in the app
Unlike other paddleboard tracking apps the price is reasonable and I really like that you can use your watch and don’t always have to have your phone with you. For a long day out it saves my phone battery, where other phone only apps drain my battery rapidly

Edit: Looks like the map bug was fixed in a recent update, so this is no longer an issue! Previous review below.
I use Waterspeed for recording sailing, and it’s so great to be able to start/stop recording from my watch and are course and speed over ground at a glance. I usually export a photo of the map using the Share feature to keep a log of my sails. However, if I go for longer distances, like a 30 nm sail from Marina Del Rey, CA to Catalina, the map at some point fails to zoom out enough to see the trip. I have a big trip planned for the British Virgin Islands soon, and I’d love to use Waterspeed to log it but can’t unless they fix that.
I also used to log sailing as a “workout,” but the app somehow caused an inflation in my active calories (Apple’s tracking score) that was way out of line with the actual activity, so I turned that part off. Kinda wish I could use it, but it’s inaccuracy means I can’t.
This is a great app for watersports-like activity, especially for its Apple Watch integration, but it needs a little more work on long-distance travel.

I was pretty happy with the app. Then after my 5th use it would not give me the option of reviewing my paddle. Instead I was forced to go to a page where I was informed about the Pro version and forced to click on a “Restore” button. The description said nothing about what that means to “restore” does it mean I have to sign in and upgrade to Pro version or restore functionality? Then I clicked on a “rate my app” section with no way to exit but to rate the app, here I am. I don’t know enough about the app to comment, it seems promising, I do know it uses strong arm tactics to bend it to your will. Twice. So here is my rating under duress. When I figure out how to exit this forced review. I am hitting delete.
