Really wanted to give this a try, but the sign-in process is terrible. First, the sign-in form asks for “Vat”. No idea what that is. The only Vat I know is the British term for sales tax but is makes no sense for the seller to ask that to the buyer. Then, over and over the process would tell me that the account could not be created because I had entered info existing in another account. Tried the option to recover the account instead, and the system told me that no account existed with that data. Frustrating waste of time. Something is very wrong when you can’t even register a new customer. I use 3 other bike rideshare systems in other countries and the registration and usage has always been buttery smooth. Such a shame. EMEL, you have some fixing to do here.

It appears there is no way to sign up. I tried both myself and my husband’s email to sign up but it keeps saying I have an existing account (not true). So since after trying 8x and getting that same message, I tried to retrieve a password to my email and it says I don’t have an account (ahhaaa!). It may be the vat number causing an issue. I am from the US and have no idea what that is, but I just put 0 because it directed to put something there - it should be an optional field. I really been planning to use this for weeks during my short trip in Lisbon (even carried a bike helmet across 4 countries) - so disappointing.

How disappointing. GiraBicicletasdeLisboa makes it impossible to sign up for a subscription. You get caught in various loops before you can do anything. It’s no wonder why no one is ever using the bikes.

Who is in charge of this program? If the city is paying any employees or contractors to maintain GiraBicicletasdeLisboa, they should know they’re being ripped off. If not, the city really need to work to maintain this. Apps can’t be left without updates and regular maintenance for months or years.

I’ve tried so many times to register.

It tells me it sent me an activation email. None received. If I try to register again, it tells me I’ve already been registered. When I try to reset my password and sign in with a née password, it tells me I haven’t activated my account.

I think this could be solved by simply allowing me to send another activation email. But everything is turning me in circles.

GiraBicicletasdeLisboa takes your money and then takes a long time to give you access to a bike. As a non-resident, you have to order a new subscription each time you want to rent a bike… so good luck just hopping on a bike.

They also ignore emails for help and refunds. Awful, awful, awful experience. Hopefully they’ll go bankrupt and be replaced with something better.

I never used this service so I tried signing up. It says I already have an account. Huh. So I try to recover my password, it says “no such account exists with this email”. Huh. So I change to my spam email I never use and phone number, same thing outcome, “account already exists”. This is too bad because I was looking forward to using this bike share in Lisboa

I signed up, but never received the email confirmation for verification. Not in junk or spam folders. I then tried to sign up using a completely different profile and email server. Still same issue. Not worth it.

You can register by putting your phone number as the tin /big but once you want to subscribe it shows it’s not allowed for minors and is stuck there - the birthdate was set correctly and definitely not a minor. Don’t bother with this crappy app

If I could have given zero stars I would have. As the customer service rep I spoke to admitted, this is designed for residents not tourists. After downloading GiraBicicletasdeLisboa and paying the 300 euro deposit I was still unable to use GiraBicicletasdeLisboa . Don’t waste your time or money!

Tried to use this super complex system. Had a lot of patience to fill all the forms and provided all the private data. Paid 5€ by Paypal and when I wanted to use it, it said that I have no subscriptions. Then I had to pay another 5€ ......Waste of time! Now I have to struggle to return my 5€!!!!!

GiraBicicletasdeLisboa is very confusing... didn’t allow me to rent a bike but charged me 300€ for the deposit that has taken more than six days to return after I couldn’t use te bikes... the call center is also not helpful... not recommended

I had the exact same experience as AlphaAXP, 9 months later. They haven’t done anything to fix the problem. Maybe that’s why I haven’t seen a single green bike in 3 days here. I’ve seen the new red bikes from JUMP, but no green.

Cannot register. Says I'm already a customer. I'm not. Asks for VAT. I'm not subject to VAT and certainly wouldn't have a personal VAT number as a buyer. That's what a seller has. It makes no sense and the worst part is the bikes look great!!

It continues to state “it is not allowed to purchase subscriptions for minors”

App does not work

I’ve built amazing apps before and I can tell you that this is one of the worst apps ever created. Piece of junk

No way to actually register and login . I don’t understand how this company functions.

Requires a VAT to register and doesn’t explain how to get one. Why in the world it require this.

They require the VAT no matter what. Can’t sign up if you don’t have a VAT. Stupid oversight.

Too much bug on app

As every other review has noted - GiraBicicletasdeLisboa makes it virtually impossible to use the bikes. This is not rocket science....hundreds of cities have figured this out. Don’t hire your nephew to write GiraBicicletasdeLisboa code!

Could not get GiraBicicletasdeLisboa to send me the code via text message maybe my phone number configuration was wrong since it was a US number but. No way to confirm or even go back and change the format. I gave up after reading the other reviews that got further than me. Oh ya and since when did the country list not recognized United States instead they used U. S but even that did not come up when you type a U first.
