Good app for what it does. Could use some simple improvements

Great app for what it does, counting pushups. There is a volume issue when playing audio: if playing music (or seems to be any other audio player) and then opening 22 pushups, the volume will lower and become hollowed while in the 22 push ups app. As of the most recent update, trying to change the daily goal loads a black screen that is unresponsive to screen taps and 22Pushups must be quit then reloaded, thus unable to change the daily goal. Finally, I have been using 22Pushups over a fews years now and it would be nice to know what year I am viewing in my statistics without having to count back from the very top (maybe a little year tab that stays at the top of the screen the way the month does while scrolling?).

Not counting pushups

First and foremost I should say that I love 22Pushups, and it has helped me immensely to become more fit and motivated. Ever since I switched from a 6S+ to an Xr, my experience has been really poor. During the first pushup the screen goes completely blank and doesn't wake up. When I tap on the screen, nothing happens. Using the Power button, I wake the screen again, but alas it keeps turning off the screen and doesn't count the pushups. I have to lock the iPhone, and open the program again and then it starts working (although not smoothly). I'm not sure if I'm the only one experiencing this, but needing to launch the program twice each time lowers one's motivation to use this program as a push up counter. Would you be so kind and fix this please?

Entering Goal Crashes the app

Love 22Pushups overall. Used if for counting over 20,000+ pushups so far. But in one of the latest releases, when you tap on the “goal” setting icon, so you can change your goal, 22Pushups crashes, every time. Now I can’t adjust my goal. My other kids use 22Pushups , and none of them can modify their goal either. 22Pushups crashes for all of us. We have the latest version installed at the time of this review. We all have different versions of the iPhone. I am using iPhone 12 Max Pro. I would have left this on your support website instead of a Review, but your support link doesn’t work.

The few things it does, it doesn’t do well.

I’ve been using 22Pushups to help get fit, and have now done at least 22 push-ups daily for about 3-4 years, at least I think so. 22Pushups has arbitrarily reset my streak multiple times, one as I was approaching 200 days, against when I just passed it and just today I noticed it reset again at 397 days.

I have contacted the developer with no response.

Additionally, the ads are unbearable, sometimes painfully loud or with hidden skip spots, leaving you the only option of killing 22Pushups to relaunch. I have contacted to inquire about a removing ads option for a cost but again, I don’t think the developer even checks their email.

Skip 22Pushups and find a different one, or please anyone else develop one. Because this is an app I used because of limited options, not because it was the best.

The voices are cute, don’t buy them though, since you’ll unlock them within two weeks or using 22Pushups if it doesn’t reset your streak.

Great app with bugs

I love 22Pushups and use it everyday but it has too bugs that I have seen a lot of other people report so I really hope they get fixed. The first is when you try to change your goal 22Pushups crashes which is new is the last 6 months. The other is when you open 22Pushups if muffles whatever audio you are listening to so I pretty much always pause my music before I do push-ups which isn’t ideal. I do love how simple it is and the lack of ads.

Great! But music needs a fix

22Pushups is great for its use, only problem is listening to music on your phone while using 22Pushups . If you’re playing music while on 22Pushups you will hear that the music volume sounds drowned out and low. Be careful with your headphones on because if you exit 22Pushups the volume will jump back up and blast your ears.

I like the app

Really like 22Pushups . Wish it had option of counting only (without the pep talk). Also, would be nice if in the share option it would send with the video stats of how many push-ups done and the amount of time it too. Started a competition with a few people and letting them actually see the info without having to take a screen shot would be awesome.

It’s ok

What’s the point of recording Us if we can’t view it later? Only viewable in the recap screen then gone forever - the output should be a GIF with the exercise stats on it - you could even make that an IAP. For now, there are other free options that work the same, or just use a pen and paper to keep track...

Dear developer,

Thank you for the response! It’s so nice of you to respond to me! I might be in the minority but on iPhone X, most recent IOS, 22Pushups just crashes every time I click share and doesn’t sync to my activity either... I hope an update will fix this!

Does not count push ups.

First off I believe 22Pushups is amazing I truly love it and it’s a lot of fun. I don’t feel like I’m working out. It feels like a fun challenge and makes me want to push myself. However like some others have said in the reviews whenever I do a push up 22Pushups sometimes does not count it. My phone locks or it just doesn’t read it. I’m sure an update can fix the issue. If that can be fixed then it’s definitely worth 5 stars. I have an I phone X plus.

Great app, unfortunately Obligatory ads

Awesome app, easily Tracks pushups, cool voices encouraging you to do more, useful daily tracking..etc. However the Biggest issue is that after every set of push-ups you have to sit through a 15 second ad for some terrible app video game. Sorry but that's a huge waste of time. I'm happy to pay for a premium version to not see ads, but I won't sit through ads every day multiple times a day

Love the App But Update Introduced Bug

Giving a 5 star review because I use 22Pushups every single day but unfortunately I haven’t been able to use it since the last update because it keeps on crashing when 22Pushups opens.

Good app

It would be nice if you could somehow adjust the sensitivity. I like to use pushup bars and after 22 pushups it shows I’ve done 4. I did them from the floor and felt like I had to slam my chest on the phone to get it to read.

Other than that it does everything as advertised. Good app for keeping a running total of your pushups.

Bad Setup - Good Potential

This is a very good app, I use it every day 3 times a day. But it’s setup is bad, for example the settings. You can barely customize anything. One big thing that I don’t like about about it a that if you mute the voice(which I recommend because they are all annoying and unnecessary)then it doesn’t beep or anything when your times up or your done.

Oh my god Arnold is the best

Get 22Pushups and get the $.99 Arnold Schwarzenegger voice I didn’t like the Yoda or any of the other ones because you know Schwarzenegger doesn’t put up with sh** or excuses. I used to have trouble doing 20 push-ups now I’m up to maybe 200 a day thank you!!!!!

It’s doing a better job of counting.

For a long time it was doing a poor job at counting all my push-ups, but in the last several months it’s been doing a very good job. Thanks.

Weird noise when locking my phone?

If 22Pushups is running or in the background and I close my phone, it causes the clicking sound to become weird and distorted. I know it’s 22Pushups because it only happens when 22Pushups is running. When i close it in the background, the weird glitching sound goes away. It only happens when I open 22Pushups .

Amazing so far (some suggestions)

I love how simple 22Pushups is, and how it just does what it does quite well.

Some fun thoughts for the devs if it’s easy to do:
- Add a sound for every rep and/or vibration in order to verify when a rep is counted without needing to hear the voice.
- Add the ability to remove or edit past sessions if possible.
- Add ability for reminders every x number of days, as some people like to do every other day or so.

Regardless 22Pushups is pretty amazing!

Amazing App!

Definitely getting me motivated to get back into shape. Competition between friends is great as well! I would love it if 22Pushups would distinguish the situps and pushups in separate categories instead of counting them together. All in all great app to get fit quick.

Nice app

I’ve been using this for a while, it’s a nice one, can keep track of my pushups. Hope it’d be better in future, like adding different other exercises to it.

Stay safe and cheers.

Great App!

Really great app. I love the way it counts with the camera. I tried other apps which require touching the screen w my nose. (That was anointing). 22Pushups however makes great use of the camera to count each push up.

Great App, BUT....

I love 22Pushups as I am a veteran and PTSD is very near and dear to my heart. I also love 22Pushups in general and it has motivated me to sustain a push-up routine every day of this new year. I love everything about 22Pushups EXCEPT:
There needs to be a way to erase push-up data or start the count over on days when 22Pushups crashes or when the phone slides out from u see chest and all the pushups are not recorded. I have been doing 22 pushups a day, but already have 2 days where under “statistics” it shows only 3 or 4 pushups. Very annoying!! Especially for somebody like me who loves seeing the “green” for successfully reaching my goal. At the very least there needs to be a way to “restart” or “redo” a push-up session for any given day. At this point once the session starts and stops there is no way to change any mistake, mishap, or just the phone freezing or crashing. I know you guys will make 22Pushups even better for all of us who enjoy bettering ourselves, and who take pride I. Supporting 22Pushups and PTSD
