I found my white headphone in the snow

So I was shoveling my snowy driveway with my white wireless earbuds and I dropped one and couldn’t find it. I didn’t know there were apps that can search for Bluetooth devices. I’m glad I tried this instead of giving up finding it. Luckily I knew the general area I lost it. I managed to find it after ten minutes. I just followed the numbers until it didn’t get any lower and then put my phone towards the ground and looked for the connection bars to go up to at least 4 bars. Then I just dug around until I found it. If you lost a Bluetooth device just try BLEScanner40 it’s free. It’s better than buying a new pair of headphones.

Wii Remote

I thought that I might’ve been able to connect my Nintendo wii controller to my iPhone to play some games with it. as it worked on my chromebook and kindle so I thought, hey why not iOS! However as it turns out iOS isn’t compatible with these controllers which I found rather odd the battery’s where new and these controllers certainly weren’t broken. So this is the part where I used BLEScanner40 to see if it’s just me or if the IPhone doesn’t support it. obviously it didn’t work, otherwise I wouldn’t be here, but I’m Sure this will work with your AirPods and headsets, it doesn’t work with a simple controller.

THIS DOESNT WORK AT ALL!

I have an iphone 12 pro, stands to reason a simple bluetooth tech already built in to a machine like this would work as advertised at least. But when I scan or hit the radar button (scanning) BLEScanner40 just crashes, every time, with wifi, without, in airplane mode, with data, without, its useless and a stupid “trojan like” method of getting something else on your phone or someone is preventing me from using it cuz other people claim it works. Not at ALL!

Hi

Hi. I need help, I downloaded BLEScanner40 and connected my Blackpink Lightstick to BLEScanner40 and now it does not work like before. It turns to orange, red and yellow. The Blackpink has only 3 songs that works with the Lightstick and now after connecting the Lightstick to BLEScanner40 it only works for a few seconds and turns off. How can I fix it. I made a huge error downloading BLEScanner40 and connecting it to my Lightstick. Please someone help me. I don’t know what I did.
Is my Lightstick damaged.

The Lightstick has Bluetooth and I connected without knowing how to use BLEScanner40 without knowing what will happen so the Lightstick changes colors but now it is not the pink colors is only red, yellow and orange.

Worked for me!

Lost Fitbit has been found. First, check on Fitbit app to see when your Fitbit last recorded steps - that should give you a general time clue. Then retrace your steps to that point. My Fitbit had fallen under a box and I couldn’t see it. Scanner gave me a good fix on it and I moved boxes and found it. Must have fallen out of my pocket while working in the area.

Interesting App

It shows nearby devices and guesses at their range by relative signal strength. If it would do that from different locations to triangulate, it could display an approximate 2d map.
I like that it shows some of the device names.

Confusing User Interface

The “radar” screen is supposed to show Bluetooth device proximity but a simple test using a headset shows it doesn’t recognize when a device is powered down. - It kept showing it as near.

It did show the headset moving away (when powered on) so It works to some degree but I think you have to manually restart BLEScanner40 frequently to clear out old devices.

This really works

I couldn’t connect nothing to my phone till I found BLEScanner40. BLEScanner40 is really helpful to those that can’t connect their AirPods or any other device to their phone, iPad, or tablet

Scanning map for near, mid, and far distance crashed

Something is wrong with its map that shows range of devices. The list works but when hitting the scan map for ranges - sadly it immediately crashes. BLEScanner40 has been deleted and restarted twice and as well had one update.

Deleting again today it failed.

Excellent, has more potential

Excellent App. Should provide more info about the various BT devices, as well as ways to ‘discover’ them i.e., make them ring/buzz when possible.

By

Does what is is designed to do

IDs all BT devices in range. Would like to be able to add a label to a favourite item.

By

Well thought out UI.

Functions as advertised. UI easy to use (most important property for any app).

By

Great, many uses

this perfect to find lost some devices and know what is going.

Not for older devices

A FAQ answer reveals that “ BLEScanner40 only works with smart phones with bluetooth 4.0”. that should be prominently displayed in BLEScanner40 description.

Right in front

I had Bluetooth equipment right in front of me and it didn’t pick up anything. I tried finding instructions to see if I was using it wrong or just to learn and I could not find much

By

Just get it

You’ll be satisfied

no privacy policy

Interesting product and a test picked up expected / known devices. But with no privacy policy other than a pdf with two sentences that do not explain what BLEScanner40 may share, BLEScanner40 is a non-starter. Not that this is unfair, it’s free.

Inconsistent

Initially it indicated that it identified my Apple Pencil but lost it and couldn’t get it to reappear. It identified equipment I assume the neighbors have but could help me find my new pencil. I assume it identified mine and not perhaps theirs. I used it on my iPad Pro, IPhone 7+ with mixed inconsistent results. Noticed several typos as well.

This wasted my time.

Could not even get BLEScanner40 to function. Wouldn't find my headset, laptop, or OBD-II adapter. Considering some of the spelling errors built into the program, I wonder if English is not their first language.

By

Ease of use

Easy record, save, store and share 😉
