When I started playing over a year ago I enjoyed this game more than any other I’d played. In the last few months ‘updates’ have managed to destroy what was a wonderful game. Like too many other game apps, once ratings, reviews and players are high enough the developers make the game unrecognizable to its original players. Characters were adorable, now they look like cheap plastic toys. Storyline has become ridiculous. And today the gems awarded for completing a level is now 33% less, I’ve watched Wooga reduce the boosts earned when going up a Village rank from three to one. The gems and coins that the Islands’ repaired icons provided daily are reduced by almost 70%. They’ve reduced the gems awarded for completing a challenge by 50% plus it takes far more challenges to repair something on an island. Yet it still costs 70 gems for up to five more moves. It seems to me Wooga wants long time players to leave. We’ve written glowing reviews and attracted lots of new players most of whom won’t care what was, because they will never have known it. This is, after all, a business. And the goal of any business is to make money, nothing wrong with that. What I don’t think is right is that the ratings and reviews you’re probably reading to decide it you’ll download this game, isn’t for the game you’d be downloading. Sadly, that game no longer exists and I’ll miss it terribly.

I’ve been playing this game for years now and used to love it. I don’t pay much attention to the storyline I just love the puzzles and then decorate the island to level up. I’ve noticed lately the rewards are getting smaller and smaller, the inbox gifts are getting fewer and I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been playing so long and I’m so high up on levels or if they’re just making it harder but some levels are almost impossible. It’ll take me days if not a week sometime to complete a whole section and move to the next one. Plus 70 diamonds for 5 moves is absurd not to mention that if you do actually breakdown and by some diamonds to be able to move forward before you die of old age they’ve raised the prices which were already high to begin with! They want $2.99 for 100 diamonds but 5 moves is 70 and a cross hammer is 120. Oh and plus the last week or so every time I open it for the first time of the day to get my daily bonus it crashes while playing the ad. Really going downhill in quality.

I used to love this game until the 72nd daily challenge. I had FAITHFULLY won the daily challenge for 72 consecutive days. Then on level 72 it was absolutely impossible to win the challenge. The goal on this challenge was to successfully get the birds up to the top, the only problem was as I made my turns there weren’t any birds to bring to the top. How could I possibly win if the birds weren’t even there❓ The answer is obviously 🙄 I couldn’t ‼️ I had 12 moves left which I played but no birds. By not winning that took me back to the very first level😤. FRUSTRATING‼️‼️ I did contact support...their explanation was that it is all random. So why would I continue to play if it was virtually impossible to win⁉️ In hindsight I believe that there was a glitch in the system & the only way to win was to spend more money on boosters‼️ The really sad thing is they wouldn’t restore my level to 72 nor would they give me any boosters to appease me for their error‼️😤 BAD PRACTICE BY WOOGA‼️😤‼️😤‼️😤‼️😤

I’ve played this game for just over a year. Until today it was as a 5 star game. I used to relax with Toon Blast but I grew tired of the increasing number of levels that required power ups to pass. I also HATED levels where the obstacles/squares I eliminated “grew back” so I had to blow them up again. I hated the feeling I was racing the obstacles. That’s not relaxing.
Until today, this app didn’t have growing/returning obstacles. Sure, certain levels are (almost) impossible to solve without using gems or power ups. Those are frustrating but they teach patience and kept you playing while you wait for new areas to open up. But “bamboo pieces that grow back after I get rid of them” ruined my experience. If I wanted the stress of racing creeping obstacles I would not have switched to or stayed with this app. Ugh. Pretty sure 1295 will be my final level. Creeping bamboo is no fun at the “easy” setting. I have no interest in seeing what medium or hard bamboo levels are like. Maybe my title should be “great relaxing game until level 1291.”

They have recently decreased all of the rewards from beating levels to the daily spins...everything. And the new updated graphics are so ugly! Honestly I wouldn’t waste my time downloading this game. It really used to be my absolute favorite game but these changes have had such a negative impact that I no longer play it. I keep it on my phone in case they ever change it back...which I know they won’t but it doesn’t hurt to hope!

This has to be one of the best match 3 games I’ve ever played and believe me...I’ve played A LOT!! It is multifaceted enough to not get boring and they are generous enough with free diamonds and things that you don’t need to spend money to pass levels.

I have a Love/Hate for this game. The Love part is the Graphics are wonderful, game is Fun and plays smoothly.

The Hate comes from things I’ve noticed since the past few Updates. You can only get Special Event things with an enormous amount of Tokens. You use to be able to get them with Coins. Second the Link to Facebook to get certain Decorations. Never since we all now know how Facebook uses your information selling it. Lastly and most recent if you don’t have 💎 for extra moves an offer pops up to Pay $1.99 for Five more Moves. Seriously the Developer thinks we are idiots to Pay such a large amount for a Possible Win. Bigs Bucks for them and bad for our 💳. I laugh because I never link my 💳 to the Apple Store. I’d rather buy Lipsticks at Neiman Marcus.

This USED TO BE MY FAVORITE GAME but recently there were some changes that have me really pondering as to if I want to continue. I just won 60 minutes on the “Wheel of Furtune”. Do you know how many levels I passed? NONE. I added at least 5 new “friends” but the levels are almost impossible to pass, and if you “Accept All” from the “Inbox”, I only get 5 lives. I used to pass the “Easy Levels” on no more than 2 tries, “Medium Levels” within 3/4 tries and the “Hard Levels” didn’t take me days to pass. I’ve been up to Level 10 on the “Level of the Day” But now can’t get pass Level 1. And what happened to the “Blue Diamonds” we used to get by passing Levels? They dropped more than half for each level therefore playing each level longer yet. And the time to receive then on the “Islands” take longer for most. You just had a pole on weather to extend the days for “Kips Playground Set”, is there a clue somewhere in there? I understand that you would love for us to spend “$$$” to keep going, But I am on a fixed income and can not afford to do so. The thought of playing this game for well over a year and going so far in the story makes me feel sad that I might not ever know how it ends

I think this game is cute with the different characters and the dialogue between them. However, I (like the other players) find it frustrating at times. For example, I am one move from completing a task but yet I have to either spend gems, retry, or exhaust all boosters to complete. Also, I find it agitating to wait days for additional levels to be unlocked when I reached level 1018 or so. The whole time I am playing, I was able to advance to the next list of tasks, but now I have to wait several days. This is unfair and should be changed! This is the only game I play that requires me to wait serval days to continue with the tasks and story line. In addition I am noticing I am not receiving booster when matched. Please fix!

I loved this game until I reached level 50, when i opened the level, it crashed constantly until I reset my iPod. I also do not like being called “Cheif” by the cats, I’d like to be called my leader name. And I’d like to be able to make my cat/what she looks like. But back to the level issue, I tried and tried but I could not get the game to work.I ended up deleting Tropicats and when I did that, I had cloud save on. When I re downloaded it, I chose cloud save and I was put on level 1! I am quite frustrated with this game and I would like this to be fixed. I am now playing on my iPad, so please please resolve this issue and take my suggestion into hand before I reach why I call “the glitching point” (aka level 50 and above)

This used to be a great game, but after the new update it really went downhill. The home screen/ load screen has been redone, as well as Elsie, the cat who sits at the top of the level screen and “cheers you on”. I understand that the “3-D” update was supposed to be a step forward, but in my opinion, it is a big step backward. One reason I downloaded the game to begin with was because the cute (but realistic) style which was absolutely amazing and really caught my attention. Now that’s gone, and the new update has made this app look like a game for five year-olds. I would really like to give Tropicats the stars it deserves (the story is really well done, the graphics and art style used to be amazing, and the levels have been challenging but fun so far), but that’s hard to do when you cannot even look up to see the number of moves you have left without cringing.

I would give this game five stars, but since I started playing this game the rewards have changed so many times. The daily rewards are now no longer worth getting or playing on an everyday. After the first five days of rewards they get reset to the day one rewards. Before I could at least get a fair amount of diamonds for playing longer then five days in a roll. Now it is any where from 2 to 7 diamonds and the same rewards you get when spinning the wheel. Might as well do that. I am in episode 19 and like level 668 or something like that and I am pleased with all the other rewards... but the five minute infinite life for me that isn’t even worth it. Love the game but wish you would go back to old daily reward system.

I’m pretty much a daily player for over a year and a half and really love this app despite the many issues with Tropicats but have to admit there not as bad as most Apps. My only real issue is that I’m almost at level 2000 and unfortunately the rewards, prizes, and achievements don’t change they just repeat themselves. Believe me it’s not always been easy clearing a level or completing a chapter and to now be on such a high leave you should be rewarded as such and would like to suggest that for every level of 500 completed the rewards increase by 30% or add 30 additional rewards whichever the Techs can make work automatically. That would really make Tropicats issues less frustrating and keep the I’m sure millions of fans happy and I know if they were worth it I’d do in-app spending to help support the success of Tropicats and this app Team. Thank you

I really am loving this game, the play is fun and has great levels of difficulty, and the graphics and animation are wonderful. Unfortunately there are many levels that you cannot achieve without spending money for boosters and some take more than one. I love the game, but can not afford to keep playing as it is costing to much to continue in these upper levels and I know that I am a pretty decent player, I’ve won and placed in many of the challenges, so I know these levels are made to cost money. I’m giving a 4 Star for the developers of the game, but have to take away one star unfortunately for greed. Thank you for the fun I have had.

I love this game! It is awesome because I love cats and the matching game isn’t boring like some may be. My problem is having to pay to get my gems back. I want it to remove that idea for it only turn people away from playing this game and not keep the players engage. Also like the other person said it is frustrating with the power up when we cannot utilize the power up efficiency when it come to saving crabs and turtle. But I really love this game. If you just give me and all the other players back our gems instead of making us pay for it then that would be great thank you.

I think that this game is the best game ever no I have not got to level 72 but it’s been very fun and I hate games like this but this one has been really fun and if you think this game is boring then that’s your opinion but maybe to other people it is very fun if there is really a glitch then the game would not be in the AppStore so I am still going to play and see if there really is a glitch and if there not I will tell you guys also the guy or girl that posted that there is a glitch if he or she must be trying to get rind of the game but I will post if there is a glitch

I am about level 960. I really like Tropicats as I think the levels are doable and I feel as if there is an algorithm that helps you so that you’re not stuck on the same level for weeks like other match 3 games.

They give you rewards often as there are ways to get unlimited lives fairly easily as well as upgrades. I also really appreciate that there is a cute plot that develops as you complete levels-it makes for more motivation to actually see where the characters go.

I live in a city where I play this game on my commute time so it is great!

This game is truly fun. Yes, there are some hard puzzles but you will eventually get the win. It is best to strategize the puzzles before making your move. There is no time limit to the puzzle so take your time and think about your moves. The best move is where you make a box out of whatever is on the board, this gives you butterflies 🦋 to help with the game.
I have not had any issues yet and I have been playing for a month and have not spent any “real” money yet.
I really enjoy this game to relax but keep my brain 🧠 active.

Considerably more fun and less stressful/irritating than similar match 3 games. The ability to earn coins/gems outside of puzzles is a big plus. The overall structure of the levels with easy medium and hard tiers and the fact that the next level opens up as soon as the easy mode of the previous is completed makes for a less frustrating gaming experience. The graphics, music, and the characters themselves are very eye pleasing and add a lot to the experience. I’ve given up on a lot of other more popular match 3s due to boredom from being stuck on the same difficult puzzle for months at a time, but so far at least, I can see myself playing this one for quite a while.

This is my favorite phone game! The characters and storyline are so cute. I rarely spend money on here and if I do, it’s only a dollar or so.. and that’s only if I’m bored and awake at night. Plus, this game hands out generous rewards sometimes. I like that they have added the daily claim prize on top of the wheel spinning, nice! Yes, some of the levels can be really hard and I’ll run out of lives before beating them, but so far I’m on level 380 and still loving it! You just have to be patient and keep playing and collecting your rewards, coins, and gems!
