It doesn’t work consistently. My base disconnects. My camera disconnects from WiFi. I don’t know why. Can’t get recordings. I can’t reconnect to the WiFi. Why? Why? Why? It’s more of a hassle to deal with it than anything else. I bought this on Kickstarter and I am so disappointed and regret this purchase the most.

I just bought this system. First out of box the software worked, but immediately I was prompted to update the camera software. As soon as I did, I was no longer able to view Live feed. Will probably return the whole thing now.

I am beyond frustrated with this product. Notifications on my iPhone stopped working with no explanation why, no settings changed. Everything appears to be set correctly. I am now assuming that app-to-iPhone notifications require some sort of working service or server in between the two and hosted at VAVA. That would be a terrible design and would mean that my notifications would stop working if VAVA were to have a server down or even if they go out of business. I probably have $800 invested in this system with multiple cameras. Did I just throw all that money away? The last time I sent an email to their support email address, I never received a reply. Stay away from this product.

I hate that you have to go through VAVAHome for everything, because VAVAHome I believe is the problem on why it won’t work.

It’s a beautiful system, but looks aren’t going far with me when it won’t work. I can add the base station, but when I try to add the cameras it says that I need to add the base station first (already been done app, sorry). VAVAHome (assuming it’s the newer version) also doesn’t match the instructions. Their technical support is a joke (I can only reset it so many times, it’s not going to make it work).

Overall, don’t waste your money. It doesn’t work.

We supported this product through their crowd funding campaign only to wait over 3 years to receive the product. The product looks and feels wonderful BUT...the software app to operated the device is horrendous. The camera does NOT pair with the base station, even after hearing the “camera paired” audio prompt. VAVA needs to focus on fixing their products for ease of use before venturing to their other products. People will not see the products as “Reliable” if they don’t work. I currently have VAVA paper weights, just waiting for the software to update and Work!

Originally backed this Kickstarter and have been attempting to get the camera to sync with the base station but it just never works. I have worked with support and tried everything they suggested but did not work. They even sent me a whole new kit and the new kit did the same exact thing as the previous one. Support has went quiet after this so just hoping a future app update may have fixes for this and will start working in a future update.

Update: Version 2.2: VAVAHome never notifies me when a person is at the door. This needs a fix ASAP

VAVAHome is extremely buggy and can never connect to the outside camera the first time. You have to exit the camera screen then go back into it for it to load. Also, the camera doesn’t always register motion in the VAVA home app and save it.

Spent a couple of hundred on this security system, charging the cameras and setting it up. You need to register to sign up for the account and it keeps telling me my password isnt 6-20 characters with numbers and symbols and capitals. I tried it 4 times before providing the 1 star. If I can’t get any help I’m returning the cameras and searching elsewhere

Wont let me add my number and wont detect human or anything? What to do?

I don’t what the issue is but this latest update is full of bugs and every time you try to change the camera performance it says failure or turn on the motion detection box, it says “failure”. VAVAHome is a “failure”. Why update it if it’s not gonna let you access features like the last one? If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

I works but it needs considerable work. After deleting videos there’s an unnecessary multi-second pause before you can continue, no way that I can qfind to set the time zone, no warnings when a camera’s battery is low, native iPad support, no select all to purge a data, ....

Terrible connectivity with VAVAHome and cameras, typically need to restart VAVAHome multiple times. Motion activations are sporadic and notification does no good when you can’t open the camera view to see what caused the activation. VAVAHome and system are a thief’s dream.

So far so good not sure of why all the bad reviews . Been really easy to connect , speak through VAVAHome to someone outside and listen to anyone . Love the 10 or 20 second clips . It’s only day one but I love it ! Don’t kno why there’s so many negative comments!

Definitely needs an improvement on the amount of devices that can be allowed to access the cameras since only one phone can login at a time. Updated preview for each camera slot should also be inserted as it only uploads a picture at the current time you check up on each camera. Other than that VAVAHome allows you to do what it needs to such as record, update, and communicate.

It was very kind of so many users to hand the Vava developers the insights to improve the system! Will they?

Isn’t reliability essential in a security system? Last night when my internet went out my Vava system lost all functionality! Hmm, not too good that!

I still had cell phone access tho’!

A base station is useful, and I like having the data stored inside the house, not outside in the more vulnerable camera.

Sure would be nice to have a reasonably priced system capable of switching over to access by cell phone … when the internet’s out, or the power!

The user manual is a beautiful piece of documentation … Very, very well done. It is so brief it reads like a programmer was forced to document their class programming assignment … they did the bare minimum. It labels the parts, but beyond that its only real use is for installation. What about troubleshooting, definition of all terms?

The screw mount is hard to use. Is it possible to provide a mount that offers 360° rotation and a tilt from 90° to 180°?

I’ve had my two camera VAVA Home system working pretty reliably since March 2021 under iOS13.X. Some apps were forcing me to update to iOS14 or newer and I dragged my feet until yesterday, now have iOS15.1 installed. VAVA is going a little crazy since the update. The main, glaring issue is when changing the live view from the small default image in portrait mode and tapping the arrows to get full screen landscape mode. Tap the arrow and the image rotates 90° clockwise to fill the screen. Now rotate the phone *counter* clockwise to get the correct orientation. Immediately after the phone body is rotated the image rotates separately 90° more and is standing on its side, effectively inverted in relation to the phone body. A few seconds pass then the VAVA app crashes and closes. What’s the fix VAVA?

VAVAHome does everything you need. I don’t understand all the negative reviews. It’s a simple app. Monitor where your camera is, listen in, talk etc. Works great!

I have set up 8 of the cameras on two different base stations. It took two months before I needed to recharge the first camera. I like the nearly instant notification on my watch and phone when anything triggers motion detection. I don’t use email notifications.

I had kind of low expectations after seeing a lot a of bad reviews, but after 2 months of usage, VAVAHome and cameras doing quite well. So, I thought that they deserve a good review. Maybe they fixed their issues before I started using the products. Anyway, thanks!

VAVA station and cameras not working. How are going to resolve this? I purchased this equipment with the trust and understanding that your company would keep the service functional. Do I get a refund or shall we start a class action law suit?

The whole system seems to have gradually shut down... The CAMERAS still work but the software is done.... no notifications anymore think the company went out of business have had problems the whole past year and now it never sends notifications at all so guess that was a waste...
