Speechify Text to Speech Audio Status

Speechify will not read a Kindle book. It stops every couple sentences.

I wish I had looked at all these reviews first. I am having the same frustrating lag. I am not getting any benefit out of this app because I have to constantly restart it or close the app and relaunch. It reads on sentence at a time and completely stops. Deeply frustrating, especially for the price I paid.

Google play is stating that it does not work on android 13 pixel 4xl. It worked previously. :(

I'm on a CNN page and Speechify says no text detected even though I'm able to highlight the article and copy it to MS Word. Why can't speechify detect the text? That doesn't make any sense.

Hello, I can't open, edit, save the scanned document on my desktop. It works on my phone but I have 4 pages of text I need to edit before I create the SoundBites. I can't create a link (it's frozen), I can't make changes, save, edit or create sound bites on my desktop. I've been doing it for 2 weeks and now not working.

constantly freezes both on Windows Surface's Chrome's and iphone 12. Both devices had trouble freezing/lagging and sometimes not responding at all while connected in different locations, different wifi connections at different times today and yesterday. Love the concept, when it works, its great.... but its super slow

When using Speechify to read text on a web page, it was fine at first, now it reads half a line and stops. It worked fine for the first 3 minutes, but now I'm having problems.

I have a trial with Speechify. I've scanned in several sections of text on my Samsung android phone into Speechify. The text has some errors in, I would expect that to some degree, but it seems impossible to edit sections below the first page on my screen. I wondered if it would be easier to do this on my iPad, but the text seems completely jumbled with pages out of order. Is there a way that I can look at the original scanned pages and make sure that they are in the correct order? How do I correct mistakes in the scanned text? At the moment I'm not seeing a lot of use for Speechify to assist me in studying for my Masters Degree. I can't copy and paste any more than 10% of any book from Kindle. I can't use my phone to scan in chapters of books. It seems OK with pdfs, but there are only limited texts available as pdfs. Any suggestions?

Pauses after every line and every zentence, making it pointless if you're trying to read faster. Can't find any info on how to fix this. Also the voice keeps changing back and forth from HD to standard. The app in general is laggy af, takes several seconds to respond to hitting pause or anything button. Why are you charging so much when there are so many problems??

After importing a document or web link to the Speechify website, the reader pauses after every line! This is so infuriating and pointless. I regret paying for the annual subscription. Please fix this guys.

Seems that the app buffers every few seconds. Basically reducing the benefit I could receive. Thank you.

Speechify keeps pausing because it can’t keep up I think. I have the read rate at 1.6. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

The files I upload on the website appear on the app, but the contents only say New Book so I cannot listen to them in the app. They work fine and are uploaded on the website.

Speechify won’t load a file, tried loads of times and it keeps failing

I purchased Speechify so that I can do other things while listening to my textbook instead of being chained to my ipad. However, speechify stops reading after each paragraph if I am not on the screen. It also stops the second my ipad screen sleeps. I do not have these issues with other auditory apps such as audible or music so I don’t think it’s a setting on the ipad.

The app freezes during initial setup. It stops at the end of the first page.

voice keeps changing, skills over entire sentences. randomly shuts down everytime there is a ; and now wont even let me upload a new file. im on a mac and i pay for this app! when can we expect for these issues to get fixed??

Voice keeps flipping into an annoying voice… why?!

When running it skips entire sentences or even paragraphs.

Freezes in the set up stage

I just installed the app and it’s freezing up in the setup. It gets to the “First, let’s select your listening voice” part and just stops. There’s no button or prompt to continue on or go back. The page is just frozen dead.

OMG I can't get this to work on my phone, ipad, laptop, NOTHING. It might open but it crashes immediately.

The voice and highlight are not in sync... It was fine this morning until I upgraded... not a good look

Speechify will open to the introductory page on my iPad, but does not read the text and will not move on to where I can set my preferences, etc. On my iPhone, it works fine. I tried a second iPad with the same results.

It reads for 1 minute and then starts over. Even when connection is good.

Is not saying the right word when I scan page

Started the free trial and it worked well for 10 minutes. Then would read 10-15 words then stop. I had to constantly reopen my phone, then open the app, then push play every 10-15 seconds, soon as my phone closed. Very dissatisfied and will be cancelling the trial. If it's already malfunctioning in the first half hour.... Speechify should have fixed the technology before releasing it.

I purchased the app. It worked well for a few days, then suddenly would only read about a dozen words, then stop. I was forced to constantly hit the "play" button to keep the app reading, at a one dozen word clip. Nothing I would do with the browser setup would alievate this problem. Total BS. I want my $139 back!
