Recent changes to NoiseGenerator brought ads, which now load and run at the cost of smooth sound. The background noise cuts out every few seconds, creating a random staccato effect that would keep me awake all night if I tried to use it. I understand the desire to monetize through ads, but some screening needs to take place to make sure the ads don’t thwart the very purpose of NoiseGenerator . Deleted.

I wanted to like this, but its proven to be more of a hinderance to my sleep than help. I use it to drown out the noise if my household, which goes to sleep a few hours after I do. Unfortunately, NoiseGenerator has two fatal problems. The fist is that NoiseGenerator will stop playing sound arbitrarily, even if my timer hasn’t run yet. As a result, i often wake up from household noise. The second issue is that sometimes a pattern if noise will develop within the white noise and then repeat itself like clockwork, according to some rhythm. This is distracting and negates the value and purpose of white noise. It is a shame, because NoiseGenerator has a great interface and the adjustments are appreciated. Hopefully it will see improvement.

I really love the control over the noise generation in NoiseGenerator. It's hard to find one like this that doesn't have a bunch of other sleep noise in it. However, it seems to be a pretty big oversight to not have NoiseGenerator continue to generate audio in the background. Maybe this is a limitation of the OS because of the realtime synthesis rather than recording, but it hampers usability significantly.

I just started using NoiseGenerator and so far so good! It would be helpful, however, if there was a timer feature so it doesn’t go all night. I’ve tried the timer on the phone (set to ‘stop playing’) but it doesn’t work with NoiseGenerator. Please either build in a timer feature or make it compatible with the phone timer. Thank you!

Honestly, none of the sounds sound good. No matter how much I mess with it, they just aren’t pleasant. They do the job in a pinch, however. What I think would help my problem is to add a equalizer option. That way I can bring up the tones I like and diminish the tones I don’t like. It has a strict cut off, which is better than nothing but something which flows more like a modern eq does, would be very welcome. For now, I can’t use NoiseGenerator and will continue to use some brown noise I found in the iTunes Store.

I chose NoiseGenerator knowing that I like a mix of brown/pink noise and don’t care about nature sounds or meditation or mood tracking, etc. So far, it’s just what I was looking for, except it doesn’t have an entry in settings. Do the advertising features access location? Read or collect other personal settings or data sources on the phone?

It would be nice if it had option to set a default play volume or max app volume independent of the main phone setting.

I seriously love NoiseGenerator. It is feature rich and helps to calm down my tinnitus when it flairs up. Better than any other background noise app that I’ve tried. Ever. Get it now.

Do not really write reviews but NoiseGenerator is very much no BS and straight to the point. Keeps your settings saved too, which I love. Thank you to the devs because I play this so I can sleep every single night. NoiseGenerator will NOT let you down.

I prefer the pink noise in the White Noise app. I never thought that I would want to change that sound until I was able lower the low cut filter and upped the high cut filter just a tad to get a very pleasing sound. Thanks for making great noise!

This is a no nonsense noise generator that allows users to adjust the quality of the background noise to their liking, nothing more. It’s simple, easy to use, and doesn’t have any features hidden behind a price tag.

My wife snores and NoiseGenerator does an excellent job of neutralizing it. I also play it through speakers to keep my dogs calm when there are workers in the house. The wave adjustments really let you dial in the sound you want. The only thing missing is a timer. Other than that great app.

Thank you so much for NoiseGenerator!!! I noticed that the pulsating, humming, low frequency noise that I’ve been hearing has become louder. It has had a completely overwhelming negative effect on my ears, head, body and life in general. And I honestly did not need another thing to deal with! And now that the nice weather is here, everyone’s out with their noise makers, adding to the noise pollution. I started looking for “noise” generators, and came across apps... so I got on here, looking... I LOVE NoiseGenerator!!! It has been a game changer for sure!!! It’s simple to use and exactly what I need! And it’s great that I can blue tooth it into my cube speaker, and that drowns out everything!!! I actually deleted all my other apps! Again thank you so much!!!!

I use NoiseGenerator every day on my commute and it’s perfect. Simple, does exactly what it says on the tin. Every other “noise generator” app is actually forest sounds or wave sounds or some nonsense like that, I love that this one is just pure noise. I would happily pay a few bucks for a no ads version if I could.

28 years of shooting and explosives in the military has given me the worst tinnitus This is NoiseGenerator . I mixed a sound that is a counter sound to my beeping, thrumming, screaming buzzing in my right ear I put the speaker by my left ear I can hear the sound. Put the speaker by my right ear I can hear everything in the room except the speaker or my tinnitus. I’m gonna sleep 22 hours tonight!!! I can’t wait to try this in hearing aids

If you have tinnitus, this could be as helpful to you as it is to me. And because there’s the whole range of frequencies instead of individual choices, it is easy to tweak. Works, whereas the similar app I purchased initially, does not.

Sounds of neighbor’s yapping-all-night-and-morning-too dogs virtually disappear. Yet don’t feel deaf to other sounds in our house! Perfect! Play with the controls; see what best drowns out what wakes you up or keeps you awake! I hear my hubby snoring in next room (which I actually like) but no dog noise (which I like even better!) Everyone can find their own perfect sound! Love it!

I suffer from tinnitus that occasionally gets worse for some reason. Today was one of those days so I decided to check if NoiseGenerator store perhaps had an app that would alleviate the symptoms.

NoiseGenerator was free so I thought I will try it first before moving to any of the paid apps.

It turned out that the sound frequencies that I got NoiseGenerator to make reduced the tinnitus noise rather quickly. This is of course my individual experience so the results may not be the same for everyone.

But considering the price of $0 I think NoiseGenerator is great!

Now a note to the developer in that I would not paying something for an ads-free version (simply because I prefer my apps without ads). Thank you.

As another reviewer mentioned, finally an app that provides pure white noise. No soundscapes of recorded sound like rain falling or crickets chirping. Just frequencies.
So, if you want something that sounds like the old analog tv stations after they’d gone off the air, or static between radio stations, this is it.
I love how adjustable it is with regards to the frequencies, filters, and sound colors (i.e. brown noise). Super easy to use, too!

I think COLORED noise are under rated in their potential to HEAL and reWIRE from the mainstream broadcasting. Definitely highly recommend! Wish we even had more option of colors yet it did force me to learn more about color mix and so much more! Much gratitude your way, dear Creator of NoiseGenerator. I recommended to my friends but some have androids. If you created a version for them, they would so appreciate it too! Namaste!

Been looking around for a brown noise generator but all apps have pay wall. NoiseGenerator has an ad at the bottom but it doesn’t interfere which I appreciate. Love NoiseGenerator!
