Tons of potential

I love that it’s simple, but it’s a little bit too simple. Its almost impossible to choose a specific frequency on the high end. There’s a plus and minus button that moves up or down one single hz, which is practical at 60 hz, but silly at 16,237. You can also drag the slider but its nearly impossible to set it to 16,000 or 18,000 or 15,500, or anything specific. You have to settle for 18,342 and be grateful that you got that close, or maybe if you really want push the minus button 342 times to get to your goal frequency. Also it doesn’t make sounds while you’re sliding the slider.
Perhaps being able to zoom in on the frequency spectrum to get to specific spots, or as Apple does, a low speed scrub as you move your finger further from the slider. Idk, but it needs something.
Almost a great app, but falls short of being useful.
Shows ads, limited functionality

Annoying to set desired frequency as slider is imprecise and +/- buttons neither repeat nor accelerate. App shows ads, first for company’s own White Noise app (unobjectionable), then animated random ads by Google (inexcusable). Deleted after one use.
Good utility, but could be improved

The sound output drops out while dragging the frequency slider, instead of producing a continuous tone. The frequency slider is also a bit unstable, swishing the frequency up/down by occasionally significant amounts when my finger lifts off the control, which requires using the fine-tuner to restore the desired setting. If you want to dial in a frequency to match another source, this tool will not be precise enough for you.
Controls are inefficient

ToneGenerator is fine and works as advertised. However, there should be a way to jump by increments larger than 1 (I.e. a 10x and 100x button) since trying to dial in a specific frequency via the slider is nearly impossible.
Only way to get to a certain frequency is using a slider or a plus and minus button you can’t hold down. Can take a little too long to get the frequency you are looking for using just the slider and individually pressing plus and minus each time, many apps like this in the store, recommend any other one
Pretty sweet

This is a pretty sweet app. It’s cool that it can test how low and how high your ears can hear. But I have a question, why do all apps like this only go down to 20 Hz? Why don’t Apps like these go down all the way to one Hz? Maybe have a countdown from 20 Hz to 1 Hz.
Very Good for Free

The same only thing I don’t like is the way Frequency is selected. This is difficult and time consuming. There should be a fine tuning option, or even better, a manual entry.
Works well, but…

1) I wish I could pay money to get rid of these stupid ads.
2) I wish you had more options for changing the frequency: just type it in, or add 10 or 25 at a time, not just one. The slider is way too coarse.
Works as expected

Only thing I think it needs is to display the note of the sound played. A, A#, etc.
I’ve only been using ToneGenerator for about a week or two. However I think I’m getting some benefits. I have a brain injury caused by a medicine that was not nearly as safe as I hoped it might be. When I use the 40hz tone...turned up pretty loud and with a lot of bass... I seem to be able to do things better. I’m very happy to see ANY improvements at all. I’ll keep using it. Maybe I’ll get even better! Thanks very much for ToneGenerator!
Works great to track down vibrations

I downloaded ToneGenerator to generate tones to help me locate sources of vibration in my car. Lots of vibration when the subwoofer is active between 20-70 Hz. Works well! Simple, clean interface.

Still loving ToneGenerator. Complaints are mostly user inconvenience but I had no troubles. Very easy and loud /vibrates enough to use as treatment for pains and ailments. Tesla would be proud 🙏🏼

It does what it’s supposed to and the screen can be off what more can you ask for :)
I’d pay for an EQ on an app like this you could really make some complex tones and explore the frequencies better
Very useful

This is very useful app for all tuning needs, with a beautifully simple and straight-forward user interface. Well done, thank you.
I really wish this came with a timer! If I could set timers so I can meditate or fall asleep to these tons and then have them automatically shut off, that would be perfect. PLEASE ADD THIS!!!

Need a straight sine wave generator for testing guitar amplifiers. Downloaded ToneGenerator and in 5 minutes had it hooked up to my oscilloscope. Great signal selectable In 1 hz increments from 20 hz to 20 khz. I’m an old guy and couldn’t believe how much my hearing had degraded. Great app for what I needed. Simple to use. Keep up the great work.
Good app

I like ToneGenerator. It’s quick and easy. I do have some suggestions...
The slider makes it a little difficult to hone in on a freq. In addition to the plus/minus buttons for incremental adjustment, maybe a 20 Hz jump button to get you close faster? Also, an octave jump button would be cool.
I like 38 hz find the one that is good for you. It worked for me. Read about Tesla.

I started about 3 weeks ago and I have been reading about light frequency and power. This application is great I donated for further research. You don’t have to donate anything only if you wish.
Simple and Effective (Updated Review)

After quite some time of using this application without a means of typing in an exact desired frequency, the developer has enhanced ToneGenerator by adding such functionality. This makes the application one of the cleanest and easiest ones to use in its class. I'd highly recommend Tone Gen if all you need is a simple frequency generator.
Does exactly what it says. I use it for checking the frequency of the ringing in my ears due to tinnitus. Put in a set of headphones, adjust volume and center frequency until they match.

One of the best free tone generators. The only suggestion I would make is to add the ability to manually enter the tone frequency.

It does what it's supposed to do. I don't use it for anything advanced, just for unity gain on a simple A/V setup. Cheap & easy solution.
