I down loaded DolphinEasyReader to use Bookshare for my second grader. The search options are limited. I can type in a subject word or look at a list of categories but you can’t filter further. For example, if I want animal books for children I can search by age or category not both. If I choose category, There is no way of knowing book level or intended audience.

I also don’t like that I have to eye read all the titles and descriptions. An app designed for those that can’t eye read should read book titles and descriptions to the user.

The default voice is awful. I can get a new voice for $7 but I can’t hear what it sounds like before I buy it. I’m also not convinced a different voice would be better. The voice inflections are weird, accents on the wrong syllable, pauses at the wrong spots. It makes it really hard to comprehend.

I love DolphinEasyReader! My students are beginning to see its value and are now using it more! (You know how high school kids are!)

The newest version which allows you to access bookshare reading lists is now so much easier to use. If you know how to choose a voice on your iPhone/iPad - “Alison” is a good free voice to chose, you can adjust the pitch & speed so that it almost sounds like a real person. Even the “paid” voices are relatively inexpensive.

You can copy written material, say from a google doc, or from your safari reading list, and read it with DolphinEasyReader. This is a great tool for struggling readers.

I hope that the developers will next allow us to take a picture of written material & have DolphinEasyReader read it too. (Like another app does.)

The best thing of all is that it is FREE! My students won’t buy a reading app & the state sponsored app isn’t always available for enough students. We only get so many licenses. This allows my students to read the highlighted text, stop & start it, & bookmark text. I just love it. 10 stars!

I have a lot of books on EasyReader, and when I went to download a few more yesterday, I closed out DolphinEasyReader , and then re-opened it again, but it only says I have 100 books out of the 1000 or so. but then i check my i phone storage usage for the ap, it says they are still there, is there a limit on how many books you can have on easy reader?

I’ve been using DolphinEasyReader for abo a year now, on and off, and I’ve just realized two things.

1. I had my Bluetooth earphones connected to my phone, but for some reason when I go into DolphinEasyReader, DolphinEasyReader will only play aloud and not through the earphones. I believe this isn’t a problem when you use wired earphones, but I’m not sure. Either way, that’s really unfortunate.

2. This is a newer problem—I’m trying to use DolphinEasyReader right now to read a book of poetry, but it keeps crashing and closing after using it for 5-10 minutes.

I’ve been using DolphinEasyReader for a while and really like it. However, for the last few months I've been having a problem whereby DolphinEasyReader would crash every 10 minutes or so. This only happens when I use DolphinEasyReader 's screen-reader voice. I've seen that someone else also has this problem so I hope it'll be resolved soon.
Ps. I’ve also been trying to contact DolphinEasyReader developer but cannot, so I hope you will see this review.

I wanted to like DolphinEasyReader because the reading interface is nice but I hate how it doesn’t sync my reading position and bookmarks across devices. It makes it very difficult to enjoy reading my books. I’ve opted to try an alternative app specifically because of this. 😔

I love this!! Very shallow learning curve and easy for almost anyone to use. I used to be a read2go user, but then it got taken off of DolphinEasyReader Store. My Teacher Consultant for the Visually Impaired recommended it because I wanted a free app that would allow me to read my Bookshare books. This does all that and more!!

I use DolphinEasyReader to read books from bookshare. It does pretty well, having said that, I have noticed that often times it will suddenly stop working for no apparent reason.

This is a very good book reader. I have impaired vision and this book reader is very good for reading books. This has a good zoom function and pages switches fluently. Really great reader if you have disabilities.

I would love to see a feature added to sync your bookmarks between devices cross platform Android and IOS through your account. Thanks

Really wanted to give DolphinEasyReader a try but even after linking to my Bookshare account it can’t actually download any books. Just keep getting a message saying can’t download at this time…

When trying to change background colors in app - black, is gray, rather than black. Tough on eyes when trying to change to high contrast settings

When I tried to open DolphinEasyReader from the home screen, DolphinEasyReader crashes immediately.

After updating to the latest version of DolphinEasyReader, all of my bookmarks were deleted.

Okey so the reading voices sound like robots all of them do so whom ever made DolphinEasyReader if you are reading this pls make the voices sound real. Thx

DolphinEasyReader is not very user friendly, customer service is an answering service...I have left 3 messages for someone to call me back and nothing.

I need to read a lot of books so I thought DolphinEasyReader would be a good app but if anything it talks a long time to set up I will never get DolphinEasyReader again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

With all the good voices available, why is the one here the only one available?

App crashes in long titles

I love that it’s free, and it has a lot of different voices that you can choose from. However, it could be much more intuitive than what it is. It can be a pain in the butt to get back to my library, it will randomly stop playing for no reason sometimes, and my biggest complaint is that often when I close my app it will exit out of the book I’m reading, and the cursor will either go to the very beginning or very end. I will still use it because it’s free, and I love reading, but if something better comes along, you can just say that I’m not loyal as of yet

Great app but get this error on the newer books when trying to download through bookshare.
