Great potential, a few issues…

PLOC is arguably one of the best cellar manager apps—all of them have their quirks. PLOC has a beautifully clean interface, a row by column cellar designer that is easy to use, and appears to have the right attitude with respect to privacy (visit their site). There is no image recognition, but the Observintory is rather zippy. It takes just as long if not longer to take a picture and receive image recognition feedback. It is also very easy to duplicate prior entries to quickly generate new vintages of the same wine. A few recommendations: (a) Cellars do not maintain their alignment in edit mode when bottles are offset, especially when marking spaces as empty (“X”). This issue does not affect cellar storage performance. (b) Why is it taking so long to develop an iCloud backup option? (c) Would love to see the aroma wheel expanded to color/sight and taste, and included in short tasting notes. (d) It is difficult to re poolicate more complex cellars that have multiple cubes, and it would be nice to have horizontal bottle orientation.
