I love telltale games and I love the walking dead series I have purchased every season but I can never get passed this one because every time I download the episode it doesn’t work and I’ve been trying to finish this game for the past year and I still can’t. I thought it was probably my phone being that I had it for awhile or maybe I didn’t have enough storage so I would delete storage and it still wouldn’t work. So then I thought it was my phone so I got a new phone and I download WalkingDead yet again and I complete the first episode but now I have to pay another $15 to play the others when they probably won’t even work. It’s so frustrating because I want to play it and finish the game but I don’t want to keep spending money and wasting time on a game that won’t even work for me. And this is the second time I’ve left a review the first time was last year and no one ever replied to me. It ruins the whole experience of the series being that I’m gonna spend $30 on a game that isn’t even sold for that much for PlayStation. I would either like a refund or for someone to restore the purchase for the game I previously had.
Episode 4 Bug!
by Symone💕
The first two seasons of the series were amazing. Easily my top two favorite iOS games of all time. The graphics were great and the storyline was awesome and very intriguing. I was excited to continue things with clementine and see where life would take her and AJ. So to start this game off as some random dude was super disappointing. And don’t even get me started on the graphics and sound. HORRIBLE. I’ve also seen some issues with the in app purchases. Exactly why I didn’t even play past episode 1. It’s clear that the making of this game was rushed and no effort was put into it at all. I hope that one day the developers remake this game or start a completely new story because this right here isn’t it. You guys can do so much better :(
Update: As i stated before, I really loved the first two seasons but was immediately disappointed with the graphics of this season. However, i came back and noticed that the developers made an update after 7 years, so i decided to give it one more chance. The game still isn't as good as the first two seasons but its kept my attention. (was extremely happy to see clementine was still around). So, i took a risk & purchased 2 more episodes and they ran smoothly. However, im now on episode 4, and i cant even get past the first 10 minutes because theres a glitch. Whenever i try to pick up the chair in the locker room, Javi just stares at it and then walks away?? I cant move foward in the game until this issue is fixed.
Hardly “sizzling”
by Done Widdit
A much more involved game with more options, however there’s lots of waiting to take control and make decisions. Unfortunately, the provided decisions don’t match up with the subsequent actions very well, the choices have no impact (if you don’t flirt with David’s wife she basically sexually assaults you), and/or often there’s no real option - all three choices appear to be the same (tell David to leave his son alone, tell David to let his son make his own choices, tell David’s son he can make his own choices).
As is often the case in badly directed film and TV, the flashbacks here aren’t easily discernible from the present, and in them you make decisions that again don’t seem to have any real impact, while the information revealed in the flashbacks would have been useful to know for decisions that the player has already made.
Finally, Telltale’s app engine is a mess. The controls are wonky (nonfunctional), the graphics cheap looking, and I love being asked to buy the combo pack every five minutes after I already have and am in the middle of playing. Once again, Telltale and the WD franchise have shown a complete disregard for their audience and have stretched the story far beyond their ability to tell it.
Multipack purchase not working. Don’t buy multipack.
by Jamie4pats
I have played the 1st 2 seasons and love them. Started this season, got through episode 1 and still love it. However, I purchased the multipack but it will not download episodes 2-5 on my iPad (still have 32 GB of available storage) it’s not a storage issue. I keep getting the “purchase this episode” rather then the ability to download the episodes. When I purchase the multipack again now it says “you have already purchased this. Would you like it again for free?”. I click okay and nothing happens, even when I press to “restore purchases” nothing happens. This seems to be a common problem so I’m hoping someone can advise me on what to do. If I can get this issue resolved, this would easily be a 5 star review. The only reason I didn’t give 1 star is because I really enjoy the game, just aggravated that I can’t play past episode 1. Please help. Also why is there a lock next to the “my choices” icon? And why couldn’t I just import my choices from previous seasons? I had to tell the game what choices I made and “recreate” my story. I am all signed into my account.
I just replayed the first 2 seasons of TWD and there was next to no lag, however I start up season 3 and it's massive, every 3rd or 4th cutscenes starts 2-3 seconds behind, I've even had pause screens that don't pause the game! If all this wasn't bad enough the game feels fuzzy. I played the first episode then looked up some videos and the graphics are so much better that there is no point even getting the mobile version. I get that PC's have better graphic's than phones, but in the previous 2 seasons at least they were comparable.
The story is fine, the action is smooth when you aren't lagging out. It's a decent enough game, but prepare for a whole host of bugs. All things considered, play the first episode on mobile, but don't buy the game here unless you have no other platform to play it.
Good, definitely not great.
by Yourlocalrobloxaddictonthesofa
This game isn’t one of their best, and I will briefly explain as to why.
1. This isn’t one of their best creations. The drawings are cool, and the voice acting is even better, but the graphics, and some other background noises either don’t make any sound at all, or they are extremely loud.
2. The game is extremely choppy, and it looks very laggy and unprofessional.
3. It crashes, it pauses by itself ( only sometimes) and sometimes it doesn’t even detect you pressing buttons.
4. The new update they had, where it isn’t full screen isn’t good at all. I find it difficult to see small items, walk around, and communicate, because the buttons are so small.
5. All the episodes altogether are way too expensive, and after a few months of uninstalling it, you can’t restore your purchases. Im not sure if it’s the button that doesn’t work, or if it’s WalkingDead , but I highly recommend not downloading WalkingDead, or any other app they have to offer, because most of it is just lag, if not detachable body parts. Please please be aware that this is not the best game. Thank you for reading. ————————————-❤️extra❤️—————✨✨✨✨
They advertise another game for michonne and i think it’s even worse. It’s everything this game is, except for the fact that I find that her body parts detach when she does certain movements. Sometimes, she almost looks too scary, and this is due to so much lag. It also crashes 5x more than this game. PLEASE. Fix this.
i didn't receive my order
by Stalkersbackoff78
I really started to like the story, but after I purchased the multi pack for the next 4 episodes. I was quit upset that I didn't receive it. Then for some reason I got logged out of my account. And now it wont let me sign back into it. I tried to reset my password. I didnt receive the email to reset my password but the link just brought me to a blank website saying i was in my account but their was nothing there. No settings, Not reset password option. Just Nothing. So now I cant even sign into my account. I would have giver at least a Four for my rating because i was only able to read/watch the first episode. But I really do like where the story was heading. Really seems like it would be great story.
Great game but the WAITING!
by Steph172728
Telltale has an awesome game here, great interactions, great story, that distinctive animation - if it were just down to the game content I would not hesitate for a moment to give this game 5 stars. I'd give it 6 if I could. But.... the waiting, and waiting and waiting between seasons and episodes, the constant delays, the lack of communication from telltale about release dates, it makes being a fan pretty hard at times. I would say the wait is worth it too, but often the first version of each episode is riddled with glitches. To their credit, they do tend to resolve these pretty quickly, but after 2/3 months wait for an episode, I get why people get frustrated! Please sort out the waiting times telltale so your fans don't feel like such suckers!
Great game... to bad I won’t get to play the next season
by GhostGamer555
I’ve been playing this game since it first came out 2012.. and I loved every second of it. And season three knocked it out of the ballpark. The characters were great and the gameplay was smooth.
My only complaint is that I won’t be able to play The Final Season because it isn’t being released for IOS. I mean the game is being released on the Nintendo switch and that console isn’t very far off from mobile phones. I don’t understand why they can’t just port it over to iPhone like they are with the Switch....
Telltale Games, if you read this please consider your fans on Mobile who have spent around $50 on this game, Please port TWD The Final Season to IOS.
i really love this game. i've played season 1 &a season 2. but it really upsets me that i have to play a different character. i love clementine. you've already taken away luke from us, which was my absolute FAVORITE character. i actually cried when he died. and now i can't even play clementine? are you kidding me? and also, i already have to purchase the game, so don't make me purchase more episodes. that's ridiculous. so you know, if you could please bring luke back. i don't know, say he found a way out of the lake. just please man. and let us play clementine. luke was an outstanding character and rumor has it it was supposed to be LUKE and KENNY at the end but that got leaked. so please bring Luke back. so many of your players would love that.
I got screwed!
by Shmaahhhzzz
I play the telltale walking dead games on my phone. Bad thing is you have to buy the episodes as you go but most of you know this, so anyways, I bought and played all 5 episodes of the walking dead season 1 and 2. I loved them! I was excited to see The New Frontier came out so I instantly downloaded it, bought the whole season and now this is where I got screwed.... I've been waiting for episode 3-5 for god knows how long. So basically I downloaded the game(episode 1 is free) bought 2-5 but can't play 3-5. Idk what to do besides sit here and know I didn't get my money's worth. Other than that it's a great series and I hope there's more to come. (I wouldn't know seeing I don't get to play the ending :/ smh)
Waiting time and communication are terrible. Games are great (mostly)
by Tettet1021
I enjoy telltale games very much. I play all of the walking dead games and watch all of the others. But I find myself wanting to buy the games less and less because of the waiting times in between each episode and the lack of communication from the company to the customers. I feel like this has been a common problem complained and talked about for ages with Telltale but I see absolutely no improvement over the years with these games. The typical way having a telltale game plays out: an episode is released. An episode takes about two hours to play and then telltale sets a release date about two months away for the next game. A month later they push it back another month (sometimes two). Then the day of release comes. It's released at different, non specified times for consoles. Then mobile devices don't get it until days later (despite being told it would be released across all platforms in one day) Unfortunately, Telltale is unprofessional in their communication with customers and reliability in delivering products on time. It's really frustrating and I think I'll just save myself the money and annoyance and just watch others play on a let's play. Overall the games and the quality of the stories are great but I wish the company was more reliable
Has potential
by JimmyE84
I have no issue with the story so far, my issue is mainly with the fact that Telltale is ridiculously slow about releasing episodes, and even that I could overlook if the company didn't eagerly take my money, then say "Hey dude, we're releasing the next episode on this date" and then that date comes and goes with no release.
Telltale's word is pretty worthless. And sure, I get there's a lot to developing a game, but it really irks me when someone can't/won't honor their word. And even that I could forgive if the freaking company kept me in the loop with regard to what's going on in terms of deadlines they set.
I even signed up for their stupid account and newsletter, but no communication outside of trying to peddle their other games.
If I hadn't invested time and money into what is otherwise a great game series that only Telltale lords over, then I'd say screw it. Might still do that when this round of episodes is done.
Telltale is all about taking money up front, and has no credibility in the way of timely follow through.
Very good but not as good as the first two
by Noting Radd
Ok, some part of me wanted to give a 3, because this one doesn’t, for me, compare with the first two, which were simply stellar, both in their art and storytelling. This one feels a bit more like a low budget horror/action movie whereas the other two seemed to be offering something really significant. But that said, if I hadn’t played the first two I realize that I would in fact be extraordinarily impressed by this one. The art is very good, very dark, very interesting (but I preferred the first two). The story is addictive and intriguing (but feels sort of contrived- when compared to the first two). I liked the Tim Burton Batman but Christoper Nolan took Batman to a new level. That’s sort of how I feel about these games. This is Tim Burton, 1 and 2 are Nolan. Do I recommend the game? For sure. But, so far it hasn’t really managed to command the gravity or grace that characterized the first two. Buy it. Enjoy it. It’s still good.
I'm not sure why some people have complained about this game SO FAR. I'm hoping i enjoy it as much as I am, till the end. I'm attached to the new characters too. One thing I LOVE compared to the other seasons, is not being forced to watch the super-long-and-boring, never ending credits! Previously we could see how our actions compared to other players choices and then we were forced to endure the credits after EACH EPISODE, before you can move !! That's something like half an hour for each game! This season is great because you can read your choices while the credits run AND if you're not interested in the credits, you can move on. So much better now. I'm a huge TWD fan and this game is great!
The Lagging Dead
by RylanLynch
This game is great. Not only is the story fantastic the characters are great as well. Now you all can disagree with me but this is my favorite walking dead game. With the shocking twists mixed with some gory deaths will leave you hanging on to the edge of your seat. Except there are a few things wrong with this game...
The LAG! You wouldn't believe how many times I've had to reopen WalkingDead to play. There also have been times where I've paused screens to stop the constant lag and IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING.
This is pretty minor but the space it takes is kind off appalling but not too much of a problem as you can expect that from telltale games.
Oh my god the audio. The characters have quite good audio but the walkers and gunshots are just cheesy. When someone punches someone else you'd think that you were listening to a 90's action film. The imagery is fine but a bit fuzzy at times but you can expect this from a mobile game.
Well that ends my review. Hope I didn't sound like I was looking for everything bad and just talking about that, but I do love this game sincerely.
Awesome
by Kerich1
I am 30 years old I have been into the walking dead franchise from day one from the hit tv show, to the game, I also want to purchase the comics eventually as well. The game has been on point. The only complaint I would say I would have had with the game were a few glitches/bugs when it first comes out. But other than that the story lines have been good and I have been satisfied thus far with the game play I just wish w didn't have to wait so long for each episode to come out. I would rather we be able to play through each episode one at a time with out having to wait months at a time for them to be released.
Great story, needs more decision making
by TDenges
I loved this game but I did find it not as compelling to finish. It took me a year. I keep going back to it once in awhile. It was fun to play but it didn’t have me hooked. It was awkward calling zombies Muertos. I understand why they changed it because everyone calls them something different.
The gameplay was fun but not difficult. I admit I don’t play these games for difficulty but at least make it a little more challenging. There were not enough decision making cliffhanger scenes. I really want to be torn between making a decision and it really doesn’t make me question my decision. There were a couple that did. But most weren’t. It was just dumb arguing and bickering. I want life and death situations to choose from. Who lives and who dies. All in all it was a great story and good game. The next one needs to be 3x more amped up than this one or I’ll lose my interest in this game
Good game
by BCook128
This is a good game. The people complaining obviously haven't played the previous seasons, haven't played a game from TellTale, or have a lower end device. The graphics and audio are on par with every other TellTale game and the story is good as well. If you've never played TellTale games before, expect a wait between episodes...it's the way it's always been. You can pay for them all at once or as they come out so decide and don't complain please. Read game descriptions or visit the developer's website. This is the way TellTale Games rolls and if you haven't figured that out yet, you haven't been playing for long and your review is based on your own misperceptions. This is a game that plays like an interactive movie. You cause it to progress by playing and while you do have choices to make, the storyline is pretty much set. If you're looking for an adventure game that allows free range play then this is not the game for you.
In my opinion, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, is single handily one of the best games I've played in years. The story line is just beautiful. I love how through the entire series, there's so many Easter eggs! Also, I like how it still has main characters. I like how you play as different characters each game! In this one you play as Javier and Clementine. I think that's a great idea. This game keeps me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Definitely worth buying all the episodes and what's better is you can start a whole new story if you never played the other games pre to this one. It's honestly the best game. My favorite season will always be season one, but this game might change my mind!! Overall it's amazing and perfect.
