DO NOT USE THEIR ORDER SERVICE
We were very happy with their design services and professionals. Their order service, however, was wrought with problems and inconsistencies that cost us time and money. For example 1.) we had to return a $600 coffee table. We did, and weeks later it had not been refunded despite knowing it had been received weeks before to the store. When i emailed Havenly they immediately issued a refund that i can only assume they’d been sitting on for weeks. Would we have ever gotten it had i not called?? I dont know but the fact they treated my money that way is a big “no” for me. 2.) we had two items we found for better price and immediate availability by simply googling them where the app said it was back ordered 3 1/2 months. Unacceptable. 3.) about 4 weeks after my initial order, i inquired as to when a set of chairs would arrive given they were never assigned a date or tracking info. They response was they’d been backordered and would arrive in 8 weeks. When i went to the manufacturer’s website it was in stock and available to ship in 8 weeks. So basically the order rep had forgotten to order 4 weeks prior (I had also checked then and it had been in stock the entire time) which costs us 4 weeks in which we had to pull chairs in From another room. All together the experience ordering was littered with a lack of accountability. It would have saved me time and money to simply take the design info and get the items myself.
Expensive design mistakes
I remodeled my office using a Havenly designer. She talked me into an expensive designer wallpaper ($150 per roll) and advised that I could “probably get by with 1 roll...but maybe buy 2 just to be safe?” Being clueless about wallpaper (this is why I pay a designer...) I didn’t know about pattern repeat/drop and waste. The design had a 22” drop which is huge so I lost a lot to waste. You need to line up each strip with the one before so the wall has a continuous pattern when complete. Since the pattern repeats every 22”, that means you waste the “end” of each strip so you can line up the next strip from the ceiling down. Not only did I end up needing 3 extra rolls beyond my original purchase of 2: because I purchased at different times they were different dye lots and the colors are a little off. $700 later my walls are 2 different colors. When I contacted her to complain she didn’t even apologize or acknowledge her mistake. She just told me the paper was now on sale for 30% off. Overall it was disappointing. She kept suggesting trendy but impractical furniture for an office for 40+ hour work weeks (an armless side chair instead of ergonomic desk chair, a small desk with no storage or place to hide a plethora of computer cords). While I know other designers at Havenly might be better, I wish the company had a better vetting process to make sure their designers are qualified.
Makes interior design accessible
This is such an amazing service/business idea. The Havenly Shop alone is brilliant. It rounds up furniture and decor from all the main websites across price points (from Home Depot and target to anthro and one kings lane) making finding and comparing a specific item so much easier. I purchased the consult package for my bedroom and Jodi M went above and beyond in putting room looks together. She was a dream to communicate with, pulled together really cool ideas and then also pulled in lots of different options for me to consider. I would normally be locked out price wise from interior design services and am totally clueless about home design, but this app makes design accessible. Love the service and would highly recommend!
Great Service, HORRIBLE app
I used this service to do two rooms in my home, and have had a great experience with the overall company. However, this app is terrible. 1) It logs me out every time I close the app; 2) when logging back in) there is so remember me function are quick login option; 3) the room design profile in the app is completely different from and not collaborated to the room design profile on the website. For my first room, I filled out the profile in the app. Then, I logged on from my desktop, and there were about 20 more questions on the website version, and all of my answers that I had input via the app, were in completely different fields where they did make sense with the question. 4) the app itself is just poorly designed and difficult to navigate
App does not sync with online website
I started with the app - it had problems saving information, so I moved on to the computer site via my laptop. This seemed to work and I launched my room profile. Then, I went back to add something via the app - information I had stored via the computer site was not there. Panicked, I checked the computer site and all seemed well. Very confused on which platform my designer can see and if I am wasting my time updating one versus the other since the two do not match up. I’m too worried to save any progress on my app for fear that it will erase things from the launched computer profile. So, if I want to change or update anything, I do it from the computer site only - frustrating. Please fix.
Terrible customer service
I’m disappointed to write that once my design service was complete, ordering the items through the Havenly site was frustrating and I don’t recommend it. I was sent the wrong item and they went back and forth with me first blaming the vendor, then blaming me. I had documentation that their site was the issue, with the email confirmation from them saying which item I ordered. Then I paid for shipping the wrong item to me, paid shipping back to the vendor and shipping again the correct item. At no time did their customer service apologize or clarify that this would be the case. Love the design service, and my experience with my designer, but order all your items directly with each vendor to avoid their customer service follow up.
Pleased with the process and amazed by the customer service!
We had our living room designed by Havenly— we had never worked with any interior designer before but the process was so fun and easy. Our designer made the process the perfect balance between utilizing her expertise but also appreciating our personal preferences. We ordered several pieces through the app and it was so organized and easy. Also, we had to follow up with some orders and the customer service was awesome....the team members are amazingly friendly and helpful!
A totally unprofessional company and "product" like others have mentioned, they steal images from real designers without permission or credit. They are totally unrepresentative of the services they provide, which are well below industry standards. As someone mentioned, their designers just create 2D images and claim they are 3D renderings. Any idiot would know this is false, and on top of it, as someone mentioned, this means the designers disregard the actual measurements of the rooms and just shrink furniture down so it looks like it fits. What's really funny is that the company actually forces designers to do this rather than following proper industry standards and providing the quality service that they could. Truly embarrassing. This company will not last long.
Mobile app is useless
Can’t upload photos, which is a big one since 99% of the “inspiration” photos I have are on my phone so now I have to email and download and upload them to the desktop site. (There is a button that says “Upload photos” and prompts you to “Select” which you can, but then nothing happens. Have tried this about 10 times now to no avail. You also can’t add “inspiration links”, can’t update questions you answered previously, can’t browse inspiration photos, can’t browse different designers, etc. Literally the only things it does is show you is show you what photos you have already uploaded and tell you the status of the project.
Makes decision making so much easier!
The choice to work with the Havenly designers finally made me get my act together and create a cohesive, cozy environment for my second home. It was so nice to say yes or no vs searching for a design template. The designers are great to work with and the price affordable. You can work with existing pieces, can buy the furniture they recommend or find something comparable on your own. I love working with this group.
App is broken. Service is good.
I used Modsy for designing and it was great for the living room but the family room just did not come together. I turned to Havenly instead (horribly hard to remember name, BTW) and had an excellent result. Super cool design that looks amazing. That was 6 months ago. This time I decided to buy s full design package for my office. The app seems to have gotten worse though. It seems to be a pop up web browser with an X in the upper left corner (weird). The most annoying thing is having to log in every time without a remember me function. What happened to app design 101? It logs me out every time!
Havenly is great, app is not
I really really want to love this service, but the app is making it hard. My designer is so nice and genuinely seems to understand what I like. But a lot of the design process doesn’t work through the app. I would not have signed up if I’d know that. I am busy, and it took me too many days to be able to sit down at my laptop and address the step in the design process I’m on (specifically uploading photos and then rating individual products in my idea boards). Again? Havenly itself seems really cool so far, but their app needs work.
Horrible app and customer service.
Would give zero stars if I could. You pay around $19 for a consultation that takes forever to happen and it looks like you’re talking to a robot who keeps sending automated messages. I’ve sent pictures of my master bedroom and started to get ideas for living room...then my “designer” stopped using the app and someone else took over. There’s no way for you to get your money back, so I suggest you to use something else. Plus, the app isn’t very functional and there’s an entire process just for you to go back in your conversations. Just really not worth it.
Do not bother - terrible app/service.
A colleague of mind had a good experience with Havenly, so I thought I would give it a try. Had to switch designers multiple times right away due to availability, which was ok. Then I didn’t hear anything from the new designer on the date promised. 3 days go by, nothing. I reach out in the app and no response. Meanwhile I get an email from customer service meant for someone else about a nursery (I was designing an office). They even had the wrong name in the email. The one good thing is, they were quick to refund me once I finally got in touch with them.
Never received what I paid for
I placed an order and selected an available designer and never received my service. After several weeks I contacted customer service who told me I need to select a new designer. I selected a new designer, and never received anything. I’ve noticed now that my order has been cancelled, but I have not been refunded. I’m really at a loss as to what to do. The site says they have a happiness guarantee, but I’m dying trying to get any response out of them or resolution on this issue. I see lots of good reviews, but my experience has been rough.
