Showcaller - Caller ID & Block Reviews

If you don’t mind having all the spam and telemarketing calls come through and NOT knowing it’s a spam or telemarketing call, this thing is great. After the call, you can go to Showcaller and manually enter the number. Only THEN does it tell you you have been spammed. I want something that stops the calls BEFORE I hear the phone ring at all. Five telemarketing calls today alone. This thing does not help at all.

I went through the setup to load and turn on features in the settings, but I’ve gotten many spam calls since installing it. I have an iPhone 6. I don’t see that Showcaller works at all on my phone. I’ve been blocking the numbers using my phone’s blocking capability. I’d like to block spam before it even rings my phone. Showcaller won’t do that. Showcaller never shows who is calling. Never blocks a call. The caller list on Showcaller is empty. Not useful at all.

I was excited to find an app that allowed me to identify unknown calls. Every number I put in I was able to see who it was and block the ones I didn’t want. I’ve had Showcaller for about 3 weeks now and for the last almost week and a half when I put in a number it tells me “no results”. It says that for EVERY number now. I am very unhappy about this.

I get at minimum 4 calls daily that are or probably are spam. One has been identified as spam over last six months when the call is ringing. Not sure if this is due to Apple’s compatibility or that new numbers are being used constantly and OK Callers system has not been updated. Therefore I have to enter each number manually into Showcaller . Even then, only 10% are shown as spam.

I do believe that a larger effort needs to be made by the FCC, device makers and spam recognizing apps to prevent spam calls from ringing through. Would be nice that if a call is identified as possible spam that phone would only vibrate instead of ring.

Showcaller does not identify scam calls you have to write down the number then go to Showcaller and type the number it doesn’t really identify the caller just where the call is coming from On occasion it will identify the caller It also shows ads for other companies under the number

When I downloaded Showcaller , I was pleased, as it allowed me to find out if calls were from real people. However, not long after I started using it, it simply stopped finding information. I finally just offloaded Showcaller after months of trying to ID numbers but only getting ads for other, similar services.

I’ve noticed that legitimate businesses are being marked as “Spam” because the lazy no gooders won’t pay their bills. In turn we don’t return or accept a call and end in small claims paying more than we owed and ruining our credit.

It gives you any available information on the number that it can. Sometimes it's a little info, sometimes a lot. It tells you if it's reported as spam, too, and that's really all I need to know to block the number. If it could just give more info the. It would get 5 stars!

I just got Showcaller a day ago, but I have also not gotten any of those annoying Robb calls since. More later...but thanks for now!!!

I think this is a great app. The one thing I’d like to see is the number of the last caller show up in the add screen so I wouldn’t have to write it down then type it in

Just downloaded and app works as described and provides access to its database with accurate information. UI could be improved, but it works.

I find that Showcaller is useful and identifying unwanted calls. It would be helpful if there was a way to leave a comment about the caller on Showcaller itself. This would be helpful in determining the true nature of the call.

Its a okay app but it doesnt really stop the blocked calls at all and it sends them to voicemail or if i dont remember a number i blocked or for spam numbers they tend to switch up there numbers so should i answer it will actually let a greeting be said and then Showcaller hangs the call up.....not good

43 of these calls yesterday that started at 8:05am and so far all the way to 2:12am (yes I’m into the wee hours now with yet another night of no sleep over this). 8 mos. ago it started and with having this now, I have proof with GREAT DATA to do something as my identity was taken 41 days ago.

Showcaller has helped me to identify a lot of calls from unknown numbers that I can then block. But it doesn't seem to be as automatic as it should be because I have to use the search feature often. Still, it's a big help.

At first I didn’t think it was doing much but as I used it more I discovered how accurate it is. I now go to it every time I get a strange number and it has saved me from a lot of hassles with scams and telemarketers.

I have been using this for many months now, and it works very well. There has been a huge uptick in spam and spam callers. I only answer numbers I recognize. Showcaller has been a great help identifying a lot of the unidentified numbers as spam. If I find out a number is a spam or scam, I add my rating, too.

However, I don't see a place for comments, so I imagine that's why there aren't many comments (e.g., "was called 3x in one day but number is 'not in service' when called back").

Been using this for years it is very much easier than reverse lookup or google. Search , report as spam and block. 😎😎😎😎

This is a superb application. It takes the guesswork out of what calls I should answer as being a legit, spam or scam call. THANKS!

I have used a different app in the past & sometimes it doesn't find much, if any info. I put the same number in Showcaller & it finds at least basic info. Once you use Showcaller, u won't use anything else.
