Downgraded from a 5* app…

Non-functional. I used to recommend thumbroll to everyone because it was so incredibly helpful as a refresher before procedures (I’m a current resident) - now, despite logging in, I’m unable to use thumbroll at all because it continuously forces the default login page to pop up. Logging in again doesn’t fix it. I tried reinstalling it to no avail. So sad.

Very helpful

Being able to see the notes alongside the photos is great. I can be sure I understand the procedure every step of the way.

5/5

thumbroll is great as a refresher. I especially like that I can go through the procedures at my own speed. I definitely recommend thumbroll if you want to understand the individual steps of a procedure.

Simply amazing

Amazingly useful app that allows you to be in the surgical room. In depth knowledge and explanations of the procedures. An invaluable resource that I would recommend to all pre med and medical professionals!

Incredible!!

Pretty incredible that this exists. I’m a med student and it has proven really helpful. It’s nice to get the individual photos as well as the description.

Incredible!

thumbroll does an exceptional job at facilitating the accessibility for medical procedures. I believe thumbroll will be of great use for a lot of medical students. I’m excited to see the future growth of thumbroll!

Great resource!

I’ve been using this app as a supplementary source. Before a procedure I grab my phone and just scroll through this app to make sure I’m 100% on the steps.

On par with UpToDate

My only regret is not having thumbroll sooner in my medical training. Currently at a large academic center and will absolutely recommend this to all my residents and students

Super useful, highly recommend

Useful especially for rotations and as an intern. Quickly pull it out, take a look, and you’re good to go

Essential!

I use this app all the time. I like that I can scroll through it at my own pace and can stop and study the images with the annotations.

All medical students need this app!

I am currently a 4th year Stony Brook medical student, and I must say that the modules on thumbroll have greatly helped me throughout my classes and rotations. Sometimes we are asked to perform a procedure or skill on the wards that we are expected to have learned on our own, and going through the modules presented here has literally been a lifesaver for me. thumbroll is also great for review for some of these skills that we haven’t performed in a while. I can’t wait for the application to add even more modules. This is a must have app for all medical and nursing students!

Dr. Abraham

As a healthcare professional, I can’t speak highly enough about this groundbreaking app! It’s been a game changer for learning myself, refreshing my skills, and for teaching purposes alike. Considering visual learning is really the best way to learn period, this application is similar to one on one skilled tutoring on call. If only we had this years ago instead of inefficient textbooks and static images...
It is also well vetted and produced by top medical professionals at top institutions so you know you can trust the content. Enjoy!

Excellent

Some of my colleagues were using thumbroll and told me I had to download it. Excellent platform, easy to use, clean design, and very effective. this app is perfect for a quick review.

I would highly recommend it!

5/5

thumbroll is great as a refresher. I especially like that I can go through the procedures at my own speed. I definitely recommend thumbroll if you want to understand the individual steps of a procedure.

Great App!

As residents, we don’t have much time and for me, it’s hard to watch videos because they’re long, there’s sound so I need headphones, etc. this app is quick and I can review everything in meetings (since it’s quiet).

Useful study app

I highly recommend thumbroll! The photos are great and easier to study than video. It’s also impressive that the content comes from Wash U in St. Louis. Looking forward to what they’ll add in the future.

Amazing!!

Anatomy students: download thumbroll now or you'll regret it! It doesn't even begin to compare to Grant's or Netter. You can see every step of the dissection on thumbroll and the images are all high def so you can see every muscle, limb, etc. You should all be using this app now!

Medical innovation

this app is such an innovative yet easy app to use! It is clean with a simple color scheme, and the procedures are in alphabetical order, which makes it easy to search through. The pictures are very clear and attributed to sources so you know where they came from. It’s great to find a free app that is so useful in the medical field!

Very practical, great visual guide

It's sometimes daunting to think about all the steps that go into medical procedures. thumbroll gives you the play by play. The developers also update thumbroll with feedback from users and are committed to improving it. Looks like a good deal of thought and effort went into making it. Keep up the great work!

Effective for medical trainees

Content:
Good range of skills/procedures. High quality images. Concise yet thorough text. Reputable sources. Impressive universities and programs for content.

Format:
Concept of the roller is interesting - allows trainees to see content at his/her own speed. Smart that the focal point of the procedure stays static - really allows you to see/analyze the one thing that's happening.

Overall Conclusion:
Quick and simple. Effective training app for medical students and residents (now mostly for interns until the procedures get more advanced). Good when you're on the go. Great supplement to other resources. Fantastic that it's available for free.

Rating: 5 stars.

Must Have App

As a medical educator and background as a Certified Surgical Technologist, I applaud thumbroll. this app is a unique app with STEP-BY-STEP instruction for many procedures. I send the medical students and residents I work with to thumbroll if they are having trouble with a procedure and a need a review. It also is a HUGE asset to have at your fingertips if you are about to complete a procedure you have not done in a while. Keep up the good work. I look forward in seeing more procedures added!

Great tool

It’s great that they keep updating thumbroll and adding new content every week. From what I can see, there are over 100 procedures right now but I’m sure it’ll be well over 200 soon.

"thumbroll saves me time, energy, and a lot of headache! My first instinct when learning was: go to YouTube.

The problem: it takes too long, the videos have unnecessary info that wastes my time, the quality isn't good, and sometimes it’s wrong.
