This is a step in the right direction. I was having a chat with a customer just yesterday, and she said cub foods in MN has moved all of their deals and coupons onto their perks card. I agreed, that seemed really smart.
As it is, we dispense coupons in 3-5 different ways, and as a casual criticism of our business, I think we could stand to loose 2-3 of them.
Now you can’t force grandma to modernize, but that’s fine, because you can incentivize; move all the deals onto the card and promote the bugger out of the card (AND APP!) in store.
Perhaps keep one form of paper coupons after this consolidation (for coupon traditionalists). Make sure they are few, and clearly labeled and numbered. Coupons can be a real trouble for a cashier at point of sale.
Also, end the Catalina contract; it’s a waste of paper and advertising capital.
