Very fun game but all I have to say this I hate the physics a lot. Even though some others enjoy the game for its difficulty, I despise the physics because the ball is so unpredictable with its movements, you can’t really predict where it goes! Even if you’re aiming for a tube, the ball will obviously, GO OFF track and will just ruin your progress, simply going all the WAY back down. And that is so frustrating, because all of that work, just for that? I hate it so much to the point where I almost wanted to literally pull my hair out because of this. It’s even worse without premium, because if you FAIL a checkpoint because of the ball’s GARBAGE and unpredictable movements you have to restart from the beginning. If you want to start from a checkpoint you have to pay for the premium version, with that, Having to experience all of that frustration all over again adds another layer of salt to the wound right there. I really like the game’s style of pinball but I really want them to make the game easier.

TL;DR: just play INKS instead, you'll have a better time.

The game has a nice aesthetic, including good visuals and music. However, if you've played other virtual pinballs (even ones on iOS), this app has some incredibly janky controls. First, the responsiveness of the left and right paddles doesn't always work. There are regions on the screen where the paddles do not flip, or flip very inconsistently, and you have to hold your thumbs in a very awkward position over what you want to see just to use the paddles. Second, the ball physics. It's... "sticky", is the only way I can describe it. When the ball contacts certain parts of the ramps, rails, and walls, it sticks to the board and slows down, especially right before getting to a paddle. This can make timing a shot very frustrating, as this slowdown is inconsistent.

Overall, I could see this being fun, but not when the controls are this bad. I'm a fan of pinball but had to stop playing after only three rounds- the controls were that bad.

It’s a great game that’s well executed unfortunately I find myself chucking the phone on the couch next to me rather than playing. That’s because the levels quickly become frustrating with constant ball returns (slides that take the ball right back to where you flipped it from) and too little time to move forward. Combine that with tiny finger buttons that are easy to miss and flippers that don’t seems to always flip the ball in the direction you’d think they would and it can quickly become tedious when not advancing. It’s a perfect game to zone out to with the it’s melodic sound track but the gameplay doesn’t allow it. I suggest a setting embraces the fun of pinball without constantly being under the pressure of a clock. That and bigger butting areas. That would make this a five star game for me.

Edit: I hate to say this game has become very annoying to me. It seems like they made the game so difficult toward the end only to extend its playtime. I hope it's an homage to the difficulty of retro games but unless you end the previous level with and exorbitant amount of extra time, there just isn't enough time pickups to finish.

To the developers, thank you for making a game with no ads that you can play fully without payment, but with the option to unlock additional functionality and without being pushy about it. I get to enjoy your game then decide if I want to support you, which after playing this game I knew I had to. Not to mention after getting so far I couldn't start from scratch again haha. Although the "permadeath" feel is very retro.

The only thing I would like to see is an option to play the mini games for fun outside of the game as well. I've been looking for "that app" I can pop in and out of when I have a couple minutes to kill, so thanks for a very fun and addicting game.

First off, it’s not really a pinball game. It uses the main pinball concept but the goal is to see how far you can get within a time limit. It’s interesting but isn’t as fun as traditional pinball imo. What I like most about pinball is those intricate little details all over the board to score more points and have other bonuses. The board itself lacks character as it doesn’t have those little details and the entire look throughout is the same neon TRON look just in different colors as you progress. As for issues, the accuracy is off and you have to be right on point to advance, most of the time you miss and when you do get it right, there’s a high chance the ball will inevitably fall between the paddles at whatever point you’re at and you have to work your way back.

It’s a great game and all but the thing where you have to pay to basically win is not a good thing for the game, it drags players away by not being able to go and progress in the game; it’s the feeling like you are going somewhere but not moving anywhere. If you make like little things where you can buy levels that would mean more, I understand how you need to make money but only making the game fun for people who payed is a little overboard even compared to other games like EA SPORTS (ok maybe used a hyperbole but you get what I’m trying to say) make a little thing like tokens or “play for long enough and earn (insert something here)!!” It is good when you have no internet and get to play it but still the thing where you have to buy is eh, I know it’s 3 bucks but eh.

To start with the good news it has good graphics, music, sound effects, and a general feel to it that you like when you are playing the game. Extra time is nice.
The bad news is it starts out pretty impossible. All you are doing is clicking for flippers to shoot the ball somewhere. There's no skill or strategy or control. You should be controlling something else because the flippers shoot it out in a bad place eight out of ten times. They say you can hold down and aim, but if you hold down it just shoots as if you tapped. This game is overrated by other reviews so I was very disappointed by it. I try to list the mistake sin my reviews so this doesn't happen to other people but,
I don't want to interfere with the sales of PinOut so I will say it has good parts and bad parts and it is up to you to decide if you like it or not but this is definitely not my favorite app and I am a little disappointed with it.

Yes it's free to play but I bought the premium for the price just to give them some support since the graphics and soundtrack were cool.

I'm not going to add anything to what other people have said because I haven't noticed anything else different from what they have said already:

I'm going to reiterate they need to fix the physics because a lot of the time you have to do a lot of aiming no...basically you have to aim ALL of the time to progress and sometimes you hit the ball in sections where it gets stuck for 2 seconds. And since time is precious in this game as you sit there watching, waiting, and wishing you had a way to tilt the board at that point.

Other than those things it's a pretty good game I'm not disappointed buying it. To me I think it's worth it to see how far you can go then choose which level you want to start from instead of say getting to the 4th board and having to start all over again, so buy it if you like pinball don't buy if you like something quick.

Oh one more thing. I don't know if others had this or it may be the same thing related to the physics, so the ball "cheats". It slows down when it's near a flipper. If the developers are mainly using time as the theme of the game then that needs to be fixed just a bit. Not too much to create frustration and mass game delete off phones though.

Hello, I just wanna say that I’ve enjoyed playing this game since the day it came out, and I’ve also enjoyed your other titles that you’ve released over the years (Smash Hit and Does Not Commute). I’ve noticed that the other titles I mentioned are updated to support the newer iPhone models, but this one still does not take advantage of the whole screen. Please, it would be more than amazing to have this game viewed in a truly captivating experience, immersing us further into the sci-fi world of this app! I know the last update was 5+ years ago (which doesn’t even count cause it’s some “Apple Watch” nonsense), but a minor spruce update would be more than appreciated from a lot of us. I really, really like the idea of this game, but as a pinball player, there are a few things that really bother me about this game.

1: There is no reason for me to get 99% across a ramp that appears to be sloping downwards, only to suddenly lose speed and wind all the way back down. This can happen in any long ramp, which rapidly becomes problematic as the ball appears to try to follow the laws of physics alllll the way up to the end of the ramp, and then suddenly it changes its mind, rapidly losing speed and rolling back up the slope to the apex, and then shooting back down to the flippers. This is awful to experience.

2: speaking of the laws of physics: the ball feels weird. Instead of feeling like I’m ~flipping a ball~, with all the control that can come with that, the ball feels like it can only exit the flippers at certain predetermined angles. So, I find myself catching the ball and making the same shot three to four times, even if I’m waiting slightly different times for those shots.

this app is a good game, but the physics issues frustrate in ways that don’t feel like challenge so much as weird engine limitations.

A fluid interface with not so realistic physics but the game is very engrossing because you easily strategize the next move as the screen zooms to the next board. Each attempt is timed so you must hit certain paths to gain time. The music keeps you engaged and it seems like it gets progressively complex as the board goes further. I am anxious to get further because of this teasing. The negs are with the ball and it's slow return on an overly long pathway that often appears as a bridge. You'll not hit the flipper hard enough sending the ball to some midway point only to find it goes backward taking its time in order to demonstrate physics. This is pretty frustrating with the time ticking away. Nonetheless, this game is a fun time killer that I'll likely purchase just to see what goodies await.

PinOut was so awesome I had to leave a review. There is no other game like it, and it is perfectly original. The nice thing is you go on for a long time, not just like a regular pinball machine where you just score points. The little tiny details are awesome too, such as the mini games and power ups. The game isn't pay to win and it doesn't have adds. Although, I would say paying is a lot easier, but you don't really have to. What I'd love to see from the developers is an infinite mode, where it just goes on forever, with it generating more track. All you'd really need to do is separate all the little sections of each level and then make the randomly join together. YOU RIGHT THERE BUY PinOut NOW!!!!

Thank you Developers for creating such a magnificent piece of art as a long-loved game of my childhood, Pinball. I barely write any reviews for any apps and if I do, I do it with all care. This time, I can't tell you a single negative parameter about PinOut. The atmosphere is a quite perfect isolation in its own. You feel you're trapped in a machine and you've got to move to get out. It reminds me of one of my favorite games ever, Portal series by Valve. The music is another masterpiece, perfectly matching all the environments through this game. Sound effects are just right and controls could not have been more simple. I particularly love the mini-games. They give me a sense of nostalgia and a feeling that I've got to thank the Pinball machine for providing me the chance of adding time to my experience. I want to thank the Developers, especially for awakening the long-gone sense in me that I used to have when I played Doom, Tomb Raider, and Mortal Kombat in about 1995, a sense of pure happiness and passion to experience something unique at the time. Then I have to thank Apple for bringing this game up on Featured section of PinOut Store, after a long time seeing not more than a few good games but some buggy, seen-everywhere, unbelievably poor games and apps on that section.

Thank you Developers, and I wish you can add more levels to this brilliant Pinball wizard game! :)

I keep coming back to this game. Though I’ve gotten through the levels several times, it’s just so cool in all aspects. The satisfaction of getting to the end of each level and hearing the track change is sweet.
Once you complete the game you can always build up time from previous levels and get farther in the last one.

To those of you complaining about the game not being worth it, have you forgotten what original pinball is? It just has ONE level remember? you play it over and over for a high score. Stop being greedy and saying the 3 bucks isn’t worth it. Just because it’s so good that you want more doesn’t make it not worth it. Show some appreciation. This game is super original and well made and they’re not being greedy with any sort of additional fees or ads.

First of all, I need to get this out of the way-- nowhere in the description does it say "endless." The more appropriate descriptor would be "progressive," especially since the levels are static (as opposed to randomly generated). You may even notice in overtime that you basically start back at 1, just with no way of putting time back into your pool.

That's it for complaints, and not much for cons at that. The last time I saw a progressive pinball game was the first Nintendo, which just shows my age. This game is so awesome, I love how there's legitimately different mechanics and hazards you have to interact with to pass each level. I had absolutely zero issues with the physics-- they were predictable and imo that's good for this type of game. If you want realistic physics, Pinball HD is the gold standard. (Optionally devs, you could add a hard mode with upgraded physics, and I would play forever.)

Neon glowy lights are complimented by mellow electronic beats, like Depeche Mode got a female vocalist and made a pinball baby. (And did I mention I want the soundtrack?) Seriously, I will pause mid-level just to get my ears filled with the current track, especially before picking up power-ups that stretch the notes to comical extremes.

It is like awesome. There is like nothing that I have ever gotten that was so addicting to me. And the best part there is literally no ads I’ve had this for like three months and never gotten a single ad.I think it should have like five star there’s like nothing wrong with it. I mean sure the premium does cost money but I honestly like a good challenge of having to restart every single time because let’s be honest it’s actually gets harder and then you want to do better and every time you do it like you always start to figure out where the ball goes and instead of it just being on based on luck, now it’s skill and remembering the patterns that happen. I have never been addicted to a game like this before and I say that it deserves five stars.

I wish PinOut had more public exposure. Its music is very pleasant to listen to if you’re a fan of vaporwave, or music from artists like Daft Punk. I didn’t even have to pay for anything in order to get far in this game, because if you’re hooked, you will get better and by then you won’t need to pay. Even if you did, it’s ~$3, and although I haven’t paid for this amount I feel that such an amount is deserved to be paid for since it’s clear to me that the developers cared about the gameplay more than the money to profit from. There are some glitches and errors, such as your pinball getting stuck in one of the tracks in the first level, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Plus, there’s a secret game on the fourth level that I’m curious about; I’m hoping someone better than me at this game can record the whole story. 😗

This is the best pinball game in the history of pinball games. I gotta say, you know how to get almost as far as Mojang, Mediocre AB. But I have a few suggestions in mind to help. Number one suggestion is that you should add some unlockable skins that you can get in the game, but make it so that they are hard to get. Suggestion number two is that I think you should make the premium perchase a bit cheaper. Suggestion number three is you should add more achevements that are really hard, like for example one achievement could be called Pinball Pro and how to get it is you have to complete level 15 starting from the beginning. That’s all I wanted to suggest. Why I am giving this 5 stars is that I’m a reckless challenger at most. Creators, if you’re reading this please put these suggestions into the game please! 😊➡️😁

this app! is not only "animatedly fun" but amazingly addictive! The feeling of outer space adds beautiful scenery to the already outstanding graphics! If you have just hit the install button and are patiently waiting for this game to download, you should be extremely excited for what awaits you! During gameplay, the sound effects add a whole new feel, bringing the game to life. So if you are a person who likes to inspect the technical stuff in games, such as sound effect quality and lighting, there is absolutely no need to be skeptical about this game! Just by looking at the thumbnail of the game it already shows you just how much time creators took to make this game. The thumbnail also describes what the game has in store. The pinball displayed in the picture shows the 'glowing' / 'space' effect included in the game and just how fun it is to play it. So if you are looking for ways to find flaws in seemingly amazing apps, you should find another app, because you will be extremely disappointed at the lack of things to criticize! So, at the end of the day, this app! is truly fun and exciting and a great game!

Polished and nearly perfect pinball gratification. Most pinball simulators lose the fun of real pinball because you're bumping around a small playing field. this app expands the experience by progressing from table to table. There is no scoring, the bumpers just bounce you around. It's all a matter of how far you can get in the alloyed time, and picking up time bonuses. My only complaint is that it really relays on holding the ball with your flipper and precision aiming to up ramps. This is satisfying, but conversely you don't get the kinetic excitement of just pounding away at the flippers, which in this app seldom gets you anywhere. The soundtrack is very reminiscent of Stranger Things crossed with Ladytron. I liked that the lyrics seemed to subtly relate to the game itself. "Just enough to keep on trying, not enough to keep from dying". Physics seem spot on to me.
