Unsure as of now

I really like the fundamental idea of BassForecast , however, the only option I have to “log in” is through Facebook. I don’t have, nor do I want a Facebook account. Other than “continuing as a guest” I feel I am restricted from certain aspects of BassForecast . I am currently using the 60 day free trial and so far I truly enjoy the limited functions that do work. On the map of the lake where fish “should” be, the informative boxes that pop up do not generate any text, at all. If you can fix BassForecast to where non social media users can log in through an email; I think it would be much better. The overall cost ($10/yr) is a steal when factoring in the data collected and dispersed from all over. If I cannot log in as a “verified user”, then I will cancel and delete BassForecast once my 60 day trial has expired. I also emailed the customer support last week and haven’t received a reply pertaining to my issue. That’s why I gave it a 2 star rating. Terrible customer service. If they can improve their customer relations issues and the log in issues, it would easily be rated a 5+ star app.

Sincerely,
Disappointed

Love Largemouths? This is THE BassFishermen’s App. Period.

I’m an avid fishermen, specifically targeting bass. It’s my passion. I learned years ago that to succeed with bass fishing it requires learning & understanding the species themselves...How they’re affected by the weather, the environments in which they live/feed/thrive, their behaviors throughout the year and how it relates to bait selection, etc.. IMHO, there is no better App available that effectively understands this AND implements it into their product. This is BassForecast for the working man who loves fishing and wants to maximize their chances on the water. Knowing in advance the days of the month that are conducive to Catching Bass allows you to better plan your trips to the lake. Bc BassForecast utilizes AccuWeather Radar, they offer tips that hit it on the head. The developer understands what it takes to be a successful BassFishermen, and that’s the biology & behavior of the fish itself, and how/when/where you’re most likely to hook into those monster Bass. Plus, the foundation of BassForecast is so solid, that it will only get better and broader with time. Get BassForecast . Well done on an all around killer Bass App.

Great Tool

Great information saves time lots of time!! Witch means more time fishing instead of trying to figure out what patterns are most consistent on any given day. Witch in turn just means more opportunities to catch more fish. The only thing I would like to see different would be more information for Anglers that fish river systems!!! What would really be amazing is if you could log in and select what specific species of Bass you are interested in fishing for that particular day such as Smallmouth!!! That’s the only thing I would like to see different but still a amazing App that helps even the most experienced anglers. I mean even pros practice for 3 days before a tournament. But at the end of the day anything that helps me spend more time fishing I am sold!! Great App if you are not using it you really should. I have been Bass fishing for the past 6 years almost every day if you are not learning something new every day or think you know all there is to know you are not fishing enough lol

Somewhat helpful I think??

I like BassForecast. As a fairly new fisherman I like that BassForecast claims to help me know what days are potentially better than others. I like that it tells you where (what parts of a lake) to fish and how fast and even the potentially best lures. What I wish it had more of is the why?? Why is this lure better today? Why are drop offs better today than the main lake? I believe the people using BassForecast are mostly newbies to fishing because I imagine more experienced anglers already have or know where to get this knowledge for free. Would love to see some tips from the pros or even some write ups about lures or something pertaining to the conditions BassForecast is showing on a given day. But more than anything. I’d love to know why BassForecast is telling me to use this location, presentation and lure on a given day. Thanks for reading. Great app though but could be better. I feel like the info BassForecast is giving is found easily on the net if you know what your looking for though. I don’t mind paying for it because knowledge is power and if you’ve got the knowledge and I don’t. Well.... you get it.

The only notifications worth a dang

I love your heads up mobile notifications of good days to bass fish 10 days ahead of time…it gives me enough time, when I can, to juggle my schedule so I can fish on a high rated day. Not every day has worked out, but my batting average has gone way up and I even caught my PB as a direct result of going fishing on a day I would not have because of an alert this app sent me. One of my friends also caught a giant 10 lb bass because of a this app Alert. There is no better buddy or pro tip in bass fishing than a knowledgeable scientific “heads up” of great days to bass fish upcoming. Most of my friends would rather keep their mouth shut and brag about it later. Thanks for the heads up this app.

Good app, could be a lot better

So BassForecast is a good app in all, but one thing is that the calculator that looks at all weather variabilities needs to take into account if it’s really cold outside like in Minnesota right now it’s November and open water fishing is still on for like a month or something and it would be terribly hard to get a bass to eat with such a low water temp, but BassForecast says it’s a “good” day or “fair” or whatever, like no it’s not haha. I would like an honest prediction for if I’m going to be wasting my time out there!!! And yeah yeah I understand how good of a day of fishing it’s going to be without BassForecast as far as temp, but it could help others. Also why does every app like this have to have a premium? Like I know the creators could be making a living off of it but like they might be able to make more if they just had everything free and had enough people write perfect 5 star reviews, idk.

Update takes it to a new level

I’ve been using this app for quiet some time and am a serious tournament angler. The update is a complete game changer! The bait recommendations are way more specific and are chosen on the type of cover your fishing, which is a big bonus when you fish a bunch of different lakes. It even tells you the right equipment to use. The other cool thing I noticed with the update is that it tells you why the rating for the day is what it is. So instead of it just being a good or bad day to go fishing, it gives you some detail. Definitely looking forward to using this a little more this season, it’s brought me some great success in the past.

Interesting App, but disappointing.

I bought BassForecast to get some insight into which baits to use and why. When you select a bait, you go straight to Tackle Warehouse to buy the lure??? I wasn’t expecting a $10 app to be an add for Tackle Warehouse. Weather is a nice feature, but I have other preferred weather apps installed already. The “rating” system is interesting, but has information to explain or back up the ratings. The map feature is ok, but anyone who bass fishes knows that docks hold fish. Nothing really new here. Perhaps, I’m missing something?

I was watching an episode of “Lunkerville” and saw BassForecast mentioned. I wish I had researched it a little more before purchasing it. I will buy a few things on Tackle Warehouse and use the $10 coupon, so I am “even.” I don’t think I will renew BassForecast next year.

Very slow and half of app doesn’t work

Hasn’t worked since I purchased app. I’ve tried using BassForecast several times thinking maybe there am was a glitch and they will fix it being I emailed the developer a few times without response. I finally got a response and I followed all the instructions to reset BassForecast with no luck and now seems to take even longer to open. Frustrating and not worth all the time I wasted trying to fix it. Don’t waste your time bc if you have a problem they take 2 days to respond and it’s just a standard email they send everyone

Nokia flip phone 1995 vs iPhone 12

When BassForecast 1st came out, it was up to speed, seemed like a good idea even though multiple factors were missing (in fairness they couldn’t haven’t known all of them) mainly like conditions and weather. As time has gone on, they’ve taken the money, acknowledged the others had passed them in technology and essentially gave up. Emailed a couple times and was informed an update was coming Any day. It was 137 days till the update came and it placed a dock on the map and ledges. The baits/lures never change for months and months at a time. Sure In disclosure it’s the cheapest; however you get what you pay for. If you want a fishing app, that you’ll use and get useful info from this isn’t the one for you. While the others are utilizing current technology and professionals, they are using “bass pro Shops website for facts Basically got left behind.

Love this app!!!

I am an avid fisherman and when I got BassForecast I wondered if it would work. I have had BassForecast now for over a year and absolutely love it! It helps mostly on the days that the fish are not bitting for me the most. I can look up other lures then my go too’s and catch fish. If your looking for an app that really work get BassForecast. I plan on keeping it as long as I fish and I’m not looking to quit anytime soon. My daughter loves to fish and will take my phone just to look at BassForecast to help her catch fish also. A must have on your phone for the days the fish don’t bite and for the days they are.

Best tourney trail finish this year thanks to BassForecast

As a competitive kayak bass angler, this app has become as important a tool as my rods, reels, and tackle. this app helps my pre-fishing game plan immensely. Pairing the forecast up with my additional research of maps and satellite images allows me to make the most of my time on the water in the highest percentage areas. I set new personal bests in both largemouth and smallmouth bass and had my best statewide tournament trail finish this year. I absolutely have to attribute some of this success to my first fishing season using this app, it has certainly helped me spend more time in the most productive water, throwing the most productive baits on any given day.

The app almost tells you everyday is a mediocre day

BassForecast almost tells you everyday is a mediocre day. I have had BassForecast for several months (3+). I’ve never seen BassForecast tells you solid an epic day. Obviously I have had epic days during those predicted mediocre days. Even they said there will be epic days in 4-5 days, when the days getting close, they will change them to mediocre days. They just want to play safe so people who don’t know how to fish will not blame them for not catching fish during the predicted epic days. Not sure how useful the prediction is. The predictions are almost not informative to me. But they don’t charge your much, comparing to the other popular but non-informative app Fishbrain.

Great Idea, Doesn’t Work

I downloaded BassForecast with a buddy and it worked great for about a week. We had accurate weather data along with the major and minor times for fishing. Recently, we were both asked to verify our emails on BassForecast and from there it went downhill. BassForecast stopped working entirely. When opened, all data would be blank. I’ve contacted the support staff through email, with no solution. Since then, the weather data has partially been restored, but I’m not getting the fishing rating and major/minor times. I was very close to upgrading to the premium version before this happened, but I’m glad I didn’t at this point. I’ll give it another couple of days to see if BassForecast corrects itself, but then I’m probably deleting because it’s just another weather app without the fishing data.

A Basic Bass Fishing App

this app excels in giving the best bass fishing times of day. I also like the recommended baits and the descriptions of how they are used. BassForecast has a store to buy fishing stuff but I haven’t tried it yet. Although I am not dropping my rating, I do find the generic map function to be of limited value. I already know the “best” places to fish on my lake. Perhaps, if I fished different lakes, this map would have more value. Bottom line, I think this app is worth the annual subscription for the features described above.

Confused angler

I do not understand how the ratings are high on a day in the future (let’s say 3-7 days) and then when that day approaches the ratings will change. For example, when I looked at next weeks forecast Tuesday and Wednesday were high value days but now when I look at those days later in the week the rating is much lower. I thought the forecast was more or less based on solunar tables or some other standardized method. If I look at the forecast for next week, shouldn’t it also be the same if I check it tomorrow or the next day?
For now I will rate it 4 stars, but I would like to be able to plan my week around the forecast.

Good at making apps! Not at fishing!

I really thought when I purchased BassForecast , it would have some detailed fishing info for my area. Instead you get “best” fishing times, and a generic map that shows where fish might be this time of year. The bait selection part is the same way. Anybody that spends time bass fishing, already knows what baits to use this time of the year. I really don’t see the advantage of having it. Whoever made it is obviously good at making apps and not a fisherman. Why not put lake levels for the selected area in BassForecast ? How about water temp for local lakes? How about if local lakes are releasing water? How about water color for local lakes? As far as I am concerned the best time to fish, is whenever you get a chance. Not when a app tells me it’s a good time to go. I should have researched it more before I bought it.

Best Tool In My Boat

I have been using this app for awhile. I don’t leave the ramp without checking BassForecast first. The daily ratings help me decide which days to go fun fishing and helps focus my practice time. Also gives me the confidence to fish certain techniques based on the ratings. It has salvaged a tournament day more than once. I can say that BassForecast has played a big role in winning or placing in the money in multiple tournaments. Let’s face it, we all have lures in our boats that cost more than $10. Thanks this app!

New Home for Bass Fishing

I just moved to a new town when I first downloaded this app. I didn’t know much about the area and had no clue where I could fish. After some research I found a small lake with some promising locations. I used BassForecast and made sure that I found the new spot just before the major evening bite. In less than a half hour I had caught three bass and one ended up being my PB for the summer. I’m convinced that this app helped me have a great first experience at a new lake in a new town. Now I check BassForecast every time I leave the house to fish.

Pre Snow Storm Fishing

I am an avid follower and believer of BassForecast! Last week BassForecast was forecasting a 7.2 rating on Monday, before the snow storms. There was a warming trend. I planned my trip accordingly and took off work. My buddy and I ended up catching over 40 fish between 2 and 5.5 #’s.
I used all the recommended lures and fish the recommended locations of the lake.
Sure enough…the fish were shallow and hitting on red rattle traps and paddle tails. Ended up being one of the better fishing days of mine 30 years a bass fishing! Thanks this app!

Please fix

Ok, so I’ve had BassForecast for almost a week now. I absolutely love the aesthetics, the layout and all the information provided for you. I am however on the verge of deleting BassForecast because of some issues. When I open BassForecast , it says reeling in the middle for well over 5mins before I can do anything. Also, when I tap the center to view major/minor feeding times they are blank for several minutes. Then when I switch between viewing weather info or lures it says reeling for another 3-5mins before allowing me to do anything. This is extremely frustrating when I’m out fishing and need to gather information quickly but I’m forced to stand there and wait multiple times for things to load. Please, please resolve this issue. This is hands down my favorite app for fishing times and I do not want to go back to one of the many others I’ve used in the past but if I am forced to continue waiting and waiting, I will delete and go back. BassForecast is sincerely great, and I highly recommend it to anyone out there. The info accuracy and weather accuracy is hands down the best. Accu weather is my one and only weather source and has been for many many years. Again, I love BassForecast and don’t want to go back to garbage wanna be’s so please resolve these issues so I can continue using my app. Thank you ladies and gents for the time and for the effort to fix whatever the issues are. I know you guys will take care of it.

Decent app, but...

If your looking for a generalized idea of when Bass might be active or in the areas suggested to fish, BassForecast is for you. If you’re looking for advanced or even intermediate skill level Bass fishing information, BassForecast is something you more than likely know already. I gave it 3 stars because the features it has are very broad in terms. For example, if it’s a good day to fish, it will tell you holding spots where fish usually are, but, it also gives you a broad list of lures to use and how fast to use them. I feel the developers need to work on the holding points and lure/retrieval features a little more focused. If your a beginner however, then this is a great app to give you a general idea of what to do.

By

Great free version

I love BassForecast . I kinda feel like the suggested baits are seasonal and not weather specific. I wish it had suggestions for multiple species! Also wish I didn’t have to pay for advanced version. Maybe roll an add bar at the bottom to cover the cost of memberships?

Great app, but dropped rating for removing previous features.

2nd UPDATE:
Rating restored. Finally got in contact with support and even exchanged emails with the co-founder, who was very personable and resolved all issues.

UPDATE:
Rating changed to 1 star for customer service/developer not following through with their offer. They replied to my previous review offering a free subscription in return for feedback. When I sent them an email, a ticket was opened, but I never received a response back (it’s been 2 weeks now)

BassForecast is the easiest to use out of all the fishing weather pattern apps. The free version even used to give you information on which land features to fish and what baits to use. With the new update, this has been taken away and only allowed for paid subscribers. I’ll probably pay for the subscription since it’s only $10/year (as of June 2019) and I enjoy BassForecast .

Deleted app in 45 seconds

The second question asked when installing BassForecast is "Tell your friends and family?" There is a button to accept this or you cannot prceed further, so I deleted BassForecast . Why would I tell anyone about it before I have a chance to use it? This is forced gorilla marketing.

Edit: I tried installing it again and it didn't ask that this time but installed successfully. Never did see the "skip" button though. Thanks anyways. I will check it out now.

Epic bonding experience with my son!!!!

My 5 year old son and I just got into bass fishing, downloaded this app and saw it was an “EPIC” rated day...so we packed up our gear and headed out to fish a public pond. 10-15 min in my son decided to throw a whopper plopper and BOOM!! The biggest bass I ever saw smashed the it. It weighed 6.8 pounds and was half as long as my son. It was a great bonding experience and time to be a father. If it wasn’t for this app telling us to go fish, I don’t think I would have this close relationship I have now with my son. Thank you.

Well Worth It

I purchased BassForecast in March 2019. I was in a sporting goods store and over heard some other anglers bragging on BassForecast . I loaded it to my phone that night. It began paying dividends the very next day. I’ll fish anytime, but what I found was BassForecast was very accurate on the best feeding times. Being able to look 10 days into the future is very helpful. So many things in BassForecast that will make your fishing trips successful. I highly recommend BassForecast.

By

It was good

Ok so about a year ago the button at the bottom right (the one where it’s shows what lures to use and where) was free and that was my favorite part of BassForecast (just getting into bass fishing it really helped) but then they made it a premium feature; yes the when to fish helps at times but I just think that they ruined the main purpose of BassForecast , they did add the weather part but personally I don’t really use it, besides this major flaw I think that they did an amazing job making BassForecast easy to use and to understand.

Eric Faucett Fishing Media Rates BassForecast a 10 out of 5!!!

I have been using this app for over 2.5 years now! I have become such a big believer in the algorithm! When fishing a tournament, I use the fishing forecast that is predicted with the 10 Day Premium version to plan my tackle preparation.

Basically, finesse gear on low rates days, and power fishing on high rated days, subject to Lake and seasonal patterns of course, but how the mood is predicted in the forecast makes such a big difference on what I’m going to offer the fish!!

Must have and let’s be real, I lose more $15 crank baits in a trip than what BassForecast costs!!

And If I lose my phone in the lake, I can redownload from the cloud when I get my new phone haha

Crankbaits just cost me more money every time I lose one 😂😂😂😂

By

The Real Deal.

I have been pleasantly surprised!

I have learned to combine the knowledge I gain from BassForecast with that of my sonar readings to find the fish during their most aggressive feeding hours. It helps me lock into a pattern that much quicker. There will always be those days where nothing seems to work but more often than not I have found BassForecast to be very helpful.

Proven App

BassForecast has been shockingly accurate. I have strayed away from the lure and depth recommendations and find much less success. There have been very trips where it hasn’t been dialed in. Highly recommend downloading and subscribing to all features! I’ve tried other apps with much less success.
