I have played your flutter game and enjoyed it so decided to try starlight! I feel you have recked this game by taking away special abilities for the butterflies! It gives you nothing to look forward to when it takes raising 5 butterflies to get them to the max. You made the plants with the abilities WHY it’s a butterfly game well when to play it it doesn’t take long to see how different this game is to flutter it’s about money!! With flutter its possible to not have to pay out as much you made it practically impossible with out spending money!!
Anyone looking to play this game expect to pay!! Everything they changed that flutter had was designed to make it harder for you to play without spending!! Don’t get me wrong I’ve spends some playing flutter! But you will find out this was designed to make you spend more but one thing they didn’t change that I hate about both games is the ads!! Watching ads is so tied to both of these games! So why I asked did you have to try to get us to spend more on this game!! Because those advertisements sure have to be bringing you in lots of money!!! GREED!!!!
My biggest and only complaint with this game is once you unlock the mythic set you can never unlock anymore attraction flowers. So I’m totally you can only get 11 sets of moths from feeding the toad and that is including the zodiac and lunar sets. After that the only way to get them is from ant events and even once you get a month from a new set it doesn’t unlock the flowers. So the only way to get new moths is from flutterbucks. I even purchased the lightening bug that gives 25 flutter bucks per day and even then it would take 20 days to have enough bucks to purchase one legendary month and if you think you are fully upgrade it that’s laughable. It would cost you thousands of real dollars to actually complete this game.
So now I only go in the game to collect my coins and feed my toad and collect my flutter bucks and then leave unless there is an ant event then I do that as well but after you stop being able to unlock new sets the game really can’t advance unless you spend money and even if you do it is so slow going that it isn’t really fun anymore. I think once you perfect a set you should continue to unlock the next set in the game.
I really like this game. EXCEPT it’s really hard to play it without spending a significant amount of real money. I watch a million ads a day to earn coins and other stuff, but it’s not enough. For example, during an “Ant Event” which lasted 7 days, I was diligent about staying on top of what I needed to do to earn the reward. I was even setting timers on my phone to remind me when to open the game so I could move forward. Watched a ton of ads to buy time, etc. And STILL when I got nearly to the end, I had to spend $22 of real money plus all of my “Glowbucks” (a game currency that’s somewhat difficult to come by) in order to complete the challenge. I understand that the game makers need to make money, but isn’t that what the incessant ads are for? Let the people who want to spend money do so, but it shouldn’t be nearly impossible to play without that. After this “Ant Event” and realizing how difficult it is to play without dropping real dollars, I’m a little turned off by it and not sure I’ll continue playing. We’ll see.
I love this game, as well as Flutter. The moths are cute and fun to look at and you can tell that effort goes into the design of everything in this game. I enjoy the events in this game, they’re easy to understand. The game is relaxing to play; the music, the graphics and gameplay are all soothing to me. However, I think there should be more options for acquiring moths you missed in previous events. As of now, the only way to get them is to buy eggs with flutterbucks when the moth happens to visit your forest. It’s random, unless there’s a special visiting-moth event going on. The prices go up based on rarity, and legendary moths cost a whopping 500 flutterbucks. That’s around 20 real life dollars, just for this moth. If you’re a perfectionist, this game may frustrate you majorly since it’s almost impossible to have every moth in the game. I feel like there needs to be a better way for players to get past moths, either with a recap sort of event, or perhaps cheaper prices on visiting moths. It’d take me, personally, a really long time to get 500 flutterbucks (without purchasing them with money), and then to spend them all in one go...it just seems a little unfair. I think a lot of players would appreciate recap events that gives them the chance to get past moths using flowers rather than flutterbucks. Other than that, I enjoy this game and think it’s brilliant and worth the download if you don’t mind the whole “past moths” thing.
I really got into this game when I was stuck in bed for all of October because I had Covid. So because I played it so much I essentially completely expanded my forest and had nowhere left to go. So a suggestion I have is if coins could please be turned intoFlutter bucks because I have millions of coins and whenever I need flutter bucks I still have to pay actual cash for them or just earn them overtime. And maybe a possible option to expand further or something. I don’t really have any more ideas on that end but at least I think we flutter bucks because I have millions of coins and whenever I need flutter bucks I still have to pay actual cash for them or just earn them overtime. And maybe a possible option to expand further or something. I don’t really have any more ideas on that end but at least I think the option to turn coins into flutter bucks would be awesome. All in all though very cute game that I, as an adult, love to play
It’s a nice, simple game that you can frequently come back to throughout the day, and still make progress (unlike other games that rely on timers n’ whatnot COUGH COUGH LUDIA AND THEIR MULTI DAY WAIT TIMES) It not very complex, which has good and bad sides to it. On one hand it’s a nice experience to play due to it being simple to pick up, but on the other hand there isn’t *that* much meat on its bones. The art style is lovely and personally I prefer the dark blues and purples of the night setting this game versus its predecessor ,Butterfly Sanctuary, that had a bright colorful daytime setting. The sister games do have many things in common, so if you have played Butterfly Sanctuary you’ll basically be all set to play this game. That doesn’t mean they are the exact same, however. This game is missing some aspects that Butterfly Sanctuary had, while also having some unique to it. Over all, while I *would* like to see more added to these games (for example mini games or more ways to interact with the moths) I feel that this game is a great game to play. I’d definitely recommend it.
Flutter is so relaxing to play, and the ambience only adds to it! I feel like I could play it for hours on end. The designs are wonderful and fact that the species are real makes it even better. I don’t know how to describe it, but opening up FlutterStarlightCozyGame just makes me get a feel-good feeling.
Despite that, sometimes I end up frustrated while playing. When a moth levels up, they earn less coins for you. My level 3 Coffee Clearwing earns 5 coins every 39 seconds, while my level 0 Coffee Clearwing earns 2 coins every 10 seconds. 39 divided by 5 is 7.8, so 1 coin every 7.8 seconds. 10 divided by 2 is 5, so 1 coin is made every 5 seconds. When you put the work into leveling up your moths, it gets less rewarding.
The cost to expand your forest gets way too expensive as you go on. You either have to spend money, or expand your storage to get more moths, which is also a bit pricey. Combine this with the fact that it gets more difficult to earn money from your moths as you go on, it slightly demotivates you to play.
Overall, Flutter is amazing, just not without some suggestions.
I got this game in replacement of some popular social media apps as they make my anxiety bad. This game is a great anxiety reducer, it’s very well made and set up. You can tell the quality just by playing. There are so many variations of moths (real species!!) and there’s so many fun and relaxing additions to the game. (The music, the events, the art). This game is wonderful when you’re just looking to sit down and catch a breath and care for some beautifully designed moths. I would definitely recommend playing, plus the MOTHS AND LARVA ARE SO CUTE!!! 😁😁😁the only issue I have to add is that it’s almost painstaking how long it takes to get coins and the cost of everything in the game relative to how much you earn. They prices for expansion foliage is almost impossible. It kinda makes the game unplayable becasue you can’t play for long without needing to wait for the moths to regenerate so you can get coins and in return attract new moths. (Once you have enough moths, the only way to get more is to get the expansion foliage.) also, I feel like when you sell items such as moths or flowers you don’t need- you should get a bigger price.
I love this game. I played it a few years ago when it came out, and forgot about it until I saw it on my recommended. I redownloaded, and have fell in love all over again with these adorable critters. :)
However, I have one complaint, and it’s a pretty bit deal breaker. I played for around 2 hours last night - just because I was so excited to play again - and closed my game to check a text I had received. Upon re-opening the game, it had taken me right back to the first part of the tutorial (when you clear the leaves). I was terribly confused, and tried to recover my game; but to no avail.
I then started a new game, linked my account to Apple and began playing again under the assumption that everything would run smoothly. This was not the case. I found after once again closing my game to do something else on my phone (just as I had gotten my progress back), my game had restarted. I have tried logging in to my Apple account which hasn’t worked, as it takes me to the tutorial again. I tried the recover feature once again as well, and neither method worked.
I also tried the same thing on Flutter, and it tells me “You have signed out of Apple ID Services” or “You have signed out of Game Center Services”, and even “You have signed out of Facebook Services”.
I hope this is just a bug (pun not intended) that can get resolved.
I love FlutterStarlightCozyGame so much, that I had to lose my review writing virginity to brag about FlutterStarlightCozyGame/game 😂Like the first time I played it, I didn’t think I would be impressed. Next thing I know I’m begging my husband to take my phone so I could get some sleep 🤪 and truth be told, I rarely ever spend less than an hour playing. And that’s the minimum amount each time. Don’t even get me started on maximum time spent per session 🫠. While falling in love with FlutterStarlightCozyGame, I decided to give it a shot to reduce my anxiety (I found FlutterStarlightCozyGame in a “reduces anxiety” collection in FlutterStarlightCozyGame Store) and so I had a particularly bad day, no end in sight or light at the end of the tunnel. So I just jumped on here. And before I knew it, I wasn’t catastrophizing any more. It’s been a blessing FlutterStarlightCozyGame, I think I’m going to get the others by the developer and give them a shot! Thank you so much!
Ok so I’m not usually one to leave reviews on app stores but honestly I love this game so much. I find it so calming and the reward systems for both this game and flutter are very well rounded and make me want to keep playing. I love that they include real info about each species of moth/butterfly and it just makes my little biologist heart happy! I also love that you are never forced to buy anything in this game (which often isn’t the case but makes playing mobile games a lot less enjoyable if you are not willing to make monetary investments). The only “drawback” (which is honestly not even one to begin with) is that I can tell the creators do not speak English fluently and used a somewhat lackluster translator BUT I don’t find that it takes away from the game at all. Some of the translations are a bit clunky but they get the point across and I am never left confused or taken out of the experience. Overall, a really wonderful game :)
Ever since I started this game, I have been hooked. I love the gorgeous nighttime aesthetic and after playing some Flutter (original) for a bit (which by the way had an error and Runaway support was INCREDIBLE with helping me!), I can see all the hard work developers have gone to for smoothness improvements and new features! They definitely haven't forgotten about the original though, which is amazing cause many developers do. And lemme just say I LOVE that the species are all real moths! I have been able to identify a category of moth once or twice already in the wild :) The gameplay starts off slow, but then becomes the kind of game that you look forward to check into, and all my friends know what it means when I tell them I'm going to "check on my butterflies." Try it out, its so soothing but also exciting when you get new moths or max out a moth!!! I do wish there was a feature to "send moth to missons" when you tapped a particular moth, since recently guiding them has become more tedious. Thank you for this amazing game!
I have been playing this game for about a year now, and I have always loved it. The moths are adorable and the events make the moths you collect feel a bit more meaningful. It has also made me appreciate the beauty of moths a lot more than I did before. I have never had a reason to be disappointed with this game up until now. This is because I have not been able to get past the first initial loading screen for a few months now and actually enter the game. The little bar at the bottom will have the word “downloading” below it, and just when it’s about to fill up, the bar will reset itself and replace the word “downloading” with “checking for updates”. It will continue to switch between these two loading bars, making it impossible for me to enter the game. I have tried to open the game many times over these past months, but have failed every time. This has really frustrated me because this game really deserves all of the praise it has gotten and I enjoy playing it. I would very much appreciate it if this issue was fixed. Thank you.
I would like to preface this story and review with I have a really bad mental heath; it will make sense.
I initially downloaded this during one of my bad depressive episodes. Typically during those episode I can’t leave bed and I confine myself. Society and trying to function is hard. I turn to video games as my escape. Here recently I have found it very difficult to find beauty or joy in my daily life. I saw this cute little app about moths and decided why not it’s free and it’s something new. Slowly I got drawn further and further in. My husband has started talking about downloading it because he can tell that it brings me some sense of calm.
i 100% recommend FlutterStarlightCozyGame. It’s beautifully created and very fun to play. I also recommend FlutterStarlightCozyGame for people who also struggle with mental health. I believe it would make a great calming agent or distraction to help you achieve a better head space. (Please keep in mind, I am not a therapist or doctor or anything of the sort. I am simply speaking from my own personal experience. What works for me may not work for you but I believe everything should be given shot.)
I really enjoy this game! It’s bioluminescent and nighttime aesthetic is very calming and serene, and all the vibrant colors of the moths make the game itself even more beautiful. I found this game about a month ago, and I’m constantly playing it since then! What I really love most is how much creativity is out into the designs of the butterflies. I’m not even sure if they’re real butterfly species, but I’m assuming they are because the game also includes those little moth/butterfly facts while loading. But what I ADORE about the game most is Michelle the owl and Trevor the toad! I’m not sure why. It may be for Michelle that I just have a thing for characters who have their own form of speech that’s really proper and fancy. And for Trevor, I guess he just reminds me of myself, we both have big appetites and we like making jokes. And what makes him even cuter is the way his throat puffs up into a bubble like an actual toad, it just ties everything about him together. I recently got into the sister game of this, Flutter. And although I don’t think it’s AS good as Flutter: Starlight, I still enjoy it just as much. If you haven’t downloaded either Flutter games, I strongly recommend you do so! You won’t be disappointed!
This is a super amazing game! The little hatchlings are adorable and the moths are beautiful! Same with Flutter. But recently I logged into Starlight and something seemed wrong. For some reason, the nests were very glitched. I can’t explain very well, but it was kinda like this... the moths were flying in there open space, but it looks as if the bushes were back into place like I never cleared them out, but the bushes a were deformed. There was a plain blocky color at the bottom where the tool bar was, but the tool bar still worked. I didn’t do much digging in the game to see is anything else was broken. But I did exit the game and refreshed it. It looked the same though.
On the other hand, that little glitch isn’t going to stop me from giving this a five star. I normally don’t keep these kinds of simulators for very long, and I’m also not really interested in butterflies/ moths to the full extent to where I want to learn more about them. The concept of the game is simple, but not so simple where I don’t keep it. It’s is indeed a great game, but I don’t know if I log back into the game that the glitch is going to still be there. I will do some digging, but that’s about it. Anyway, thanks for reading!
I have played many games in my time, but I don’t have the words to explain this MASTERPIECE. I love moths, but they are very uncommon when it comes to games, books, etc. So whenever I I found this game, I was confused. This was the only moth game I could find. I downloaded it to try it out, and boy it was worth it. The moth designs are ADORABLE and I especially love how when getting an egg, you can tell if it’s a new species. The graphics are so good and I love the color palettes. All the cuties look so detailed yet simple! They have such complex and unique looks compared to common moths found a lot of the time. But yet it’s easy to draw them with the cartoony look. I have a difficult time drawing moths as an artist due to my anime-cartoony style and lack of realism, and when I draw moths it’s extremely boring. But drawing these cute little things are so fun and I just love them. Wow. I would say this game is better then Minecraft, Roblox, and other games loved by millions. One suggestion, however, is to make it easier to get glow bucks. I need them to hurry my egg hatching but I don’t have many. That’s all I have to say. Basically, I can’t rate it on a 1-10 scale cause it’s beyond the limit. LOVE the game. Keep up the good work!
It’s beautiful. I can hardly find a flaw. There are only two very minor annoyances I find, which are flying moths getting in the way of pollen flowers and leaf/bark bugs, and how difficult it is to get the decoration at the end of an ant event. But you can dodge the moths, and it doesn’t take too much saving up glowbucks to be able to finish the event. (5 or 6 a day for watching a few ads??? Not to mention the free ones from missions, leaf/bark bugs, and flying petals! Pay to win who?)
I just have one suggestion on the off chance the devs might find this review! I have soooooo many useless flowers from early moth sets, common & uncommon, and small, since you get those so often and never use them. Plus, you get so little money from selling them! So I had an idea: fuse two 100% flowers to get a (10% or 100%) not-flower. So instead of adding a percent chance of getting something, it subtracts that! That way, if you get too tired of seeing common moths, just place a not-common flower to lower or eliminate your chances. Especially with rarity, it would be a life saver when trying to finish out sets. (Four o’clock moth getting in the way of my coppery dysphania :( )
Anyways, thank you so much for this adorable game! I play it every day <3
Love it that the moths are real species! Even the plant decorations and special creatures (e.g. owl) are real species and have scientific names marked. I’ve always wanted to know more species but find memorizing them too dry. Collecting them this way is enjoyable and educational. The design is also beautifully done. I’ll check out the butterfly and fish games by the same developer.
Just one requests: PLEASE add a confirmation step for purchases! I’m usually not a fat finger, but I TWICE spent glowbucks on what I didn’t want to buy, once to lay an egg and once to buy mushroom spores! Glowbucks are so hard to accumulate, and it pains me so much that I tapped on where I shouldn’t and I lost days worth of savings! On the other hand, storing and restoring moths really can skip the confirmation. Even if the player stored a moth by mistake, it can easily be reversed, so why the extra tapping?
In addition, I would love it if you incorporate a moth trivia quiz, maybe to earn glowbucks. It would also be convenient if tapping on a moth in the forest gives a link to its Flutterpedia page. Now it takes a while to find a moth in Flutterpedia, especially the special event ones. Please consider. Thank you! Looking forward to more nature-themed games!
When I saw the advertisements for this I’ll openly admit: I was lured in simply by the allure of pretty moths. I’ve got a weakness for the beautiful creatures, and there is always the curiosity of “oh— so they have X or Y moth in the game?” That curiosity definitely keeps you playing every day as you unlock more and more moths.
I’m right about 10 days into playing the game as I write this and I’ve fully gotten the hang of the game: it is 100% possible to have a successful forest without spending a cent. I completed an entire Ant Event *ahead* of schedule without paying for any of it even, and that gives two rare moths and special rewards. The key to everything is just setting a timer to remember to check in (especially during Ant Events).
Definitely recommend this game. I’m obsessed with it and will only keep playing from here. <3
