How about native speakers saying the phrase?

Ok, I haven’t had LanguageTranslator very long and it looks pretty decent in what I’ve tried to use it for. However... it would be nice to have a native speaker say the phrase of the language? I tried Maori and it was a man with a notable ‘British’ accent, the same speaker and accent used for the English phrase while I was trying to figure out how to get LanguageTranslator to say the Maori phrase. Yes, that would be a lot of work to add in, but for those of us learning languages, it would be nice to hear a more authentic accent. I would also be nice to have an audio of both phrases versus just the audio of the phrase showing up on the top row. I had English wanting to hear it in Maori, so the English was showing on top. When I switched the langague (what gets translated) I at first got English twice. I had to copy the Maori, switch the languages around to get Maori as the language to be translated into English. On the first try, the audio stayed with the English, then when I copied and pasted I got the ‘British’ male speaking Maori with a a ‘British’ accent. Didn’t try other languages to see if that was consistent across other languages. Important details for those using LanguageTranslator to help learn a language!

Credit where credit is due...

The developers listen to their customer base and that has to be applauded! The latest update got rid of all connections to analytics domains and now LanguageTranslator is truly a private alternative to Google Translate (as well as being a better translator in my opinion). I will buy the Mac version and recommend Mate to my friends. Great job, developers!

Update: LanguageTranslator 's privacy policy is reassuring to a point, but the developers still make use of Amplitude Analytics. While this is much better than Google analytics, it is still a dealbreaker to me as I refuse to use any apps that connect to analytics domains.
Please consider adding an option to turn off all analytics. The vast majority of users will leave them on, but it will reassure the privacy conscious among us. Thank you.

Welsh translating

On the one hand this is virtually the only app that which will translate Welsh at all, which makes me nuts, so 5/5 for that.
Second, it does a passable job for 1860's-1900 Welsh to English, which is extremely commendable so 5+/5.

On the other hand, LanguageTranslator seems to not apply grammar rules to more complex sentences (more descriptors) or not-ideal punctuation in newspapers before the turn of the century (1900s). Since it's a descriptive, poetic language - and not the only one that is different than 'subject-verb' being able to translate to grammatically correct English would be a huge help....3/5
There are basic words that will translate correctly in the lists below the usually-correctly-translated word if you do just the word (Ehedydd = Sylark or Lark, not Skyper; Eos = Nightingale) yet LanguageTranslator won't translate them at all (ie, "Eos Cynlais" & "Ehedydd Cynlais" remain exactly as is) - four instance these are titles: either 'Cynlais Nightingale' or 'Skylark of Cynlais' for the second one, as Cynlais is a geographical name.
More extensive music, poetry, land features, mining and farming terminology would probably be an additional help for those of us trying to translate for either history or genealogy use.

Thanks for showing customer appreciation!!!

Much appreciated that the developer provided free lifetime access to customers who were early adopters after going to subscription-based pricing! Customer loyalty goes a long way and there have been many app developers have not been as loyal!! Thank you and also for this feature-rich app.

Not so good as for Mac

Actually, I purchased LanguageTranslator because I love desktop Mate for Mac.
But mobile version have some things which I don like.
The main thing is that we need to press Enter or button to get translation. I used google translate for years on my mobile, and it translates text immediately after entering. Then we typing second word, and google translate displays translate for both words. It cool.
And voices. In Mate voices sounds as outdated voices generator. Google translate have very humanized voices. It’s not big problem. But google translate is free, Mate is not cheap.

Worth It!

In an age of privacy violating “free” apps and the onslaught of the alternative Subscription/Service model, LanguageTranslator is a beautiful example of how well done the classic model of “paying once and owning forever” can be. Even more, LanguageTranslator is more feature rich, simple to use, and capable than many of it’s alternatives. A shining light of an app, you should buy it now!

Great App and very useful

I’ve been using it for a while now, and it has never disappointed my expectations. I highly recommend it, because it’s simple, fast, and has a lot of languages.
In terms of translation, I can say its accuracy is around 90% approximately which is an amazing result.

No adds

No adds, everything seems good about LanguageTranslator; nothing to complain about.
My go to app for translations have had LanguageTranslator for years now!! Can’t complain on much got more feature than most other translation apps or websites I’ve used.

Disappointed

LanguageTranslator often crashes on my iPhone suddenly and I have to close it and reopen it to get it to work again. I don’t think that’s acceptable for an app at this cost. It’s also awkward when having a conversation to have to change the flag icons when changing speakers every time. Cumbersome. The translation seems adequate, but overall I’m very disappointed and would like a refund after only a week of daily use. I will replace it with something better.

Not Sure Yet .. Some Early Signs

Why, in your description of app, last § (read while waiting for download to finish as needed it “right now,” of course) did you day to down load this “free” app? It def wasn’t free for me: was $9.99 WITH an extra add-on at same price.

So, since all I want is an app, that, when I’m in any App Store iOS app and highlight a foreign word, paragraph, or page(s), I want a translation! Period. I& LanguageTranslator doesn’t do that, it IS a con. If able, will report back.

Reference Encyclopedia

LanguageTranslator has helped me and my friends in the translation and phrases. It’s a reliable support and very useful. Thanks to the developer of this marvelous tool. I’m also very grateful to have given me this opportunity for a lifetime membership to your app.

Not a true Speech translator

I’ve looked in settings can’t find anything but this works as one way speech translator, not a true “speech” translator (like they claim) that allows two way communication.
I want to have someone speak in their native to LanguageTranslator and have it translate but the microphone is disabled when the language is not English. I tried with Tamil and it only works one way when it comes to speech. LanguageTranslator is useless if you are in a foreign country and want to translate someone’s speech. It’s Good to have one way conversation that’s it.

Question

LanguageTranslator is fantastic, helps me in massaging because I am in out of the US. But my question is how do I translate other language with manually translating because it shows two people in iMessages that one is understand what he is saying on Mate translator and the other is not

AR and camera Support Missing

Heyy, i love LanguageTranslator and it does wonders no doubt but it needs features like AR in real time and camera support do that one can translate in real time by opening camera and scanning things around just like itranslator app does. Looking forward to near future updates

Nice App

You can essentially translate any language into another, which seems amazing. I read some French, so it is useful in that way. Foreign words frequently show up in English, and certainly Latin phrases, so it is good to have a grip on them. The world is ever more international now, so this is a handy tool.

it's nice

Use it daily. Express in English, translate to other language, copy, paste and text or email to recipient. Receive response, copy in other language then paste in translator and convert back to English. And so on and so on. It’s quick and easy. Effective communication tool

Impressive

I use LanguageTranslator to help me with speaking to my neighbor, friends and extended family Spanish. Much better than Google, because they understand what I am saying. Of course it helps to pronounce words well, which I can now say I am pretty well at

Why won’t it work with iMessages?

Bought LanguageTranslator for, I think, 30 USD. Happy with it for the most part however it won’t work with iMessages or SMS text messages for that matter. I see LanguageTranslator in my selector but nothing happens when I select it. Am I doing something wrong?

By

the best

LanguageTranslator has come in handy so many times. I use it for personal reference and live interaction. It has enabled many cherished conversations while traveling. I’ve never been frustrated or disappointed, no other translator is necessary
