Dododex: ARK Survival Evolved Reviews

So some of you guys reading this might have seen but: for dodo I submitted something on the taming section at the beginning it said “(im sorry but you spelled encountering wrong)” at the time I had typed that there was only 1 n instead of 2 and guess what! 32 minutes I came back and it was spelled correctly!! Wow! Just wow!

Oh also I love how the developers actually respond usually games have this thing where they only say a few things if it’s a bad review they say something along the lines of “sorry you didn’t enjoy this game please contact us to help us resolve some issues” and if it’s a good review… we’ll you get it. Anyway my point is scrolling through the reviews I was amazed! I saw developer that actually have emotion and effort put into them! And out of the 30,000 reviews this game had almost %0.1 bad views! Just amazing keep up the good work!

I began Ark: Survival Evolved about three years ago, I relied on Ark Wiki for quite awhile, it was useful, very useful, but extremely laggy at times.

When I found this app, nothing could have been better! It was so much faster and easier!
After being confronted about this app’s compatibility with in game Ark on mobile, it was even more easy!

++ Uses:
Quick and easy. Accurate and updated. Can be accessed from Ark Mobile with the quick tap of a button, which is extremely useful for when you’ve got pregnant animals and dinosaurs at you feet, and you have no idea when the baby will be born! Oh, and there is also a taming timer, where you can figure out in advanced, or at the moment, you’re taming something, how long it’ll take, and what is recommended for taming use. Much like Ark Wiki, it also shows you how many hits, darts, arrows, whatever you need to knock out a creature, which is extremely useful for newer people to the Ark!

One of my favourite things about this app, is that there’s a comment and tip section where you can sort things by category, showing you people’s tips and comments who help. There’s a special category for Names, even. Which is helpful for people who can’t think of a name. ++

Hey bro, this is my favorite app for Ark: Survival Evolved. Your app has helped so much and I mean it. You can ask anyone (anyone with a brain anyways) and they’ll say it is very helpful. It is a great app and I don’t only speak for myself but many other people. You probably won’t see this comment anyways, but if you do know that you have improved my gameplay experience so much and wildcard has no clue how much you’ve done for them. Some people might think “oh it’s just an app for info nothin special” but without Dododex I’d probably be stuck in the dirt in ark. Your app has improved ark for me so much and I don’t know if I’d even play it if it weren’t for Dododex, and I love ark to DEATH. If you even see this you might think “oh it’s just another meaningless comment” but you really don’t know how much you’ve improved ark for me. Thank you so much for this app.

Was listening to music, and when I opened Dododex it pauses the music. I listen to music a lot when playing ark (Especially because I was in a airport terminal, with loud people, before I was randomly selected for 2nd security screening. Then on the plane it is a A380, so it was kind of loud as I was on the lower deck at the window.) Please try to fix the music being paused. Other than that, great app!

Developer responded saying they will fix it. Updated review to 5 stars. Also my trip to Germany to see my family was great! Unfortunately I couldn’t use Dododex in the plane as we aren’t rich enough to afford the WiFi.

Another mention: Didn’t see this before, but know when in ARK, if I need information about something there is a this app button! Very helpful as it also opens it to the very exact page I need. Another reason as to why people should get Dododex.

So Dododex is REALLY good at helping you (especially since I don’t know very munch about ark). Dododex can tell you about what you need to tame, how much you need, and how long it will take. There is one problem though and that’s why I’m writing this review. When you are taming a Dino, it gives you four things you can use to keep the Dino knocked out while taming, but there are other options to keep it knocked out like clubbing it, punching it, and shooting it with tranq related ammo. This is annoying because you can’t substitute the tranq ammo with something like narcotics and I just shoot my knocked out tame with tranq darts most of the time and it screws up the torpor timer that’s on Dododex . It would be nice to add other options to up the torpor on Dododex so the torpor timer stays correct. If the devs of Dododex read this please take it into consideration

ARK is one of those games where you can’t rely on your own head the whole time. You need fast, organized, and accurate information for all sorts of things. this app delivers this exactly. Not only am I able to figure out what kind of creatures of what level can be tamed and bred with what food and how long, but I can see organized categories of each category, how well they can harvest each resource, what they drop, and so so much more. Even better, it has a resource calculator and resource maps, and I can figure out exactly how much of a material I need, and where I can find it. No more will I have to get killed 20 times before I figure out where I need to go. No more will my baby dinos die under wrong conditions. I have everything here with Dododex.

I have used Dododex for years now and I love it, but here recently I can’t really use it much anymore. Anytime I’m doing something, no matter what it is, when the ad at the bottom changes, Dododex kinda restarts. For instance, if I’m looking at the kibble chart, it will change back to the last Dino I was looking at, or if I’m reading on the tips and the ad changes, it will scroll all the way to the top which makes me have to scroll back down and find where I was at, just for it to do it again. I know you can buy the ad free version, but I’ve never had it do this before and I don’t think it should. The only thing I can really use Dododex for is the see how much kibble a Dino needs real quick before Dododex changes on me by itself. I wrote this in hope this can be fixed because I love Dododex and I see the devs actually read these comments and reply back to most people’s concerns. Thanks guys and if you can get it fixed, I will gladly bump this up to a five star!!!

This is absolutely the best app to get if you play ark. It is a absolute must have for any Ark player. It gives you almost 100% accurate information on whatever creature your looking at The tip area is amazing ‘cause it includes things that other people have found out that this app might not already have. If the developer reads this, Perhaps add a breeding tip space that way it covers everything. I was reading about the bezelbufo(I hope that’s how you spell it 😂) and trying to figure out how to breed them so I looked on the tips and found out. That was really great cause I didn’t have to google it. But if you ever make any changes to this app please add a breeding tip space if it’s not to much to ask. I just got started with ark on pc and I’d seen a few people mention using it so I figured I’d see what it was all about. It works great, has lots of info on all dinos in the game (that I’m aware of) and the specific stats of each level of a dino, a bit of info in a breeding tab, what they’re affected by, (bola, lassos, etc.) what types of structure they can damage, what they can be pick up by, even what size hole in a wall they can fit through, community tips on the dino, and each dino gets a star rating on what resources it can harvest, plus other little things. Great app, absolutely recommend to anyone who’s plays ark on any platform

I use Dododex all the time. All the features are great, and work so well and having it on your phone is so convenient. You can look up the creature you want to tame, put in your sever settings see how much food and tranqs it’ll take. You can even modify the weapons so you can know EXACTLY what you need with your specific taming method. Also the stat calculator is amazing, I’m sure people are upset because they use it for tamed creatures but it’s supposed to be for wild creatures when you have them knocked out. So when you use it right it’s flawless I love it. This with Ark smart breeder for tamed creatures and keeping track of stats is a great combination too and I cannot imagine playing ark without it.

I’ve never reviewed an app before because I’ve never actually felt it was needed. This is a unique situation. This is a fantastic app, all around. Incredibly accurate and reliable, absolutely no login or personal data required, and very few ads to complete the picture. It is honestly necessary to players of Ark. Using the online version is helpful but Dododex is more comprehensive and chock full of features. I can visit the wiki page to check color regions for my breeding while setting an in-app timer for 5 minutes before a starve tame is completed, all while checking to make sure the however much time needed to tame this creature is worth it due to its random stats. Keep updating it, absolutely fantastic app!

Dododex is awesome. It is free and you can view everything you will need. It shows the best food for max taming effectiveness if you care about high levels, and it shows you how long it will take to tame and what you need to knock the animal out. Addition information such as what materials the animal can break, high or low torpor, item drops, if it can be trapped with a bola... etc and what rank the animal is at harvesting materials. There is also information on breeding and incubation periods. The times for taming etc are mostly accurate. Dododex normally suggests amounts that are higher than what is needed, but better to be safe than sorry XD.

I had Dododex a long time ago and I have to say I wasn’t impressed, so much so that I deleted it and went in to another app. Had I know that it was built by one person I would have given it more time though, and here’s why. Dododex IS BEAUTIFUL, compared to how it used to be and compared to the other ark companion apps out there this is easily the most best looking app of them all. Also, and this is a big problem with the other apps, Dododex is smooth and reliable. I haven’t had any problems with it so far and compared to the glitchyness of the other apps it brings me enough joy to wright a review. 10/10 to the person making this, it’s far better than the other ark apps👍👌

Dododex is amazing and I use it a lot but every time I get on Dododex and scroll around on anything at all it randomly (every 3 seconds to every 10 minutes) teleports my page back to the same original page I opened Dododex on. I’m trying to still use Dododex but it’s really hard too. I reinstalled but nothing changed. I would love this fixed. I don’t think it’s a problem with my phone because my phone has never had this problem before. Would love some help on this or a patch from devs, thanks!

Edit: Thanks for the response Don, for some reason the problem solved itself, so maybe just wait a week or so for the problem to disappear?

This is a great tool for those of us who really get into the survive alone mode of play. Every RPG seems to favor fighting (PVP) over fighting the elements, topography and wildlife always on the hunt for people size snacks! this app provides a full guide to the beasts w/req. food for taming, tips on surviving chance meetings, and other helpful-interesting facts making ARK the best game for exploration, Dino pets, cave living and water conservation as well as farming. With this app easy to access it makes a huge difference in gameplay as life in the Dino age would have been extremely difficult. I use my old iPad to keep this app open beside me as I adventure so Dino’s are better known & can be approached w/greater confidence. Or killed for food w/o my being their dinner!

So I really don't got many complaints about Dododex other than that for some creatures (usually if the creature is higher lvl) the amount of tranqs it would take to knock something out seem to be inaccurate also that it wasn't explained too well that you have to remove whatever food (it picks kibble for you) it has chosen and put in the food your actually using to tame said creature. Other than these two complaints nothing else comes to mind complaint wise but i do have a suggestion for a feature which I'm not sure how tough it would be to implement but i think It’d be a good idea to be able to track multiple Dino's at the same time assuming your taming multiple things at once. Anyway it’s a great app.

What I love about Dododex is it’s near 100% accuracy during taming (b cause server lag can affect it in rare cases)
The issues I have with Dododex are that when passing the time. If I close Dododex at any time. It will destroy the torpor timer. So when I reopen it. I’ll find it has 2 minutes left when in reality the torpor is near max and has about an hour of torpor. This can cause unnecessary stress for most people and needs to be fixed. At the time of writing this Dododex is outdated by about 3 months. So if you’re looking for accuracy in the map system or I’m torpor (fire wolfs have changed) you might want to look into another source. But overall it gets the job done and is reliable In 99.9% or cases as long as Dododex remains open at all times

Dododex is amazing for anyone who is new to ark or just wants taming/finding resources or a certain Dino on any map to be easier or anyone who just needs a little help and Its correct I’d say 99% of the times I use it and if it could be off by a little bit it will say that it could be off a little do to a bug and the resource feature that lets you see what Dinos are best for gathering certain resources is all based on people that play ark and rated the dinos based on their experience with using it for those resources.

And the best part is it works for every platform of ark from mobile to console so it will work for anyone

Hey Mr Dan Leville! I really love your app, and I think that it is unique among the Ark: Survival Evolved taming helpers. But the ads are kinda mean. Not that they don’t deserve to be there, but they reset the page, or go back to the last page you were on, when they reset. That kinda bums me out. Please fix sometime! I don’t know when, because I know you are super busy Mr Dan! Besides that one teeny-tiny feature, Dododex is good overall! The ads also hardly take up any space on the page.

Something else is that there is a Specific Kibble instead of a basic kibble or extraordinary kibble for a creature not in Ark Mobile. I don’t know how that happened; it’s not soo bad though!
When I first started playing the Ark Game with the dinosaurs I thought that I would need to get through the game all by myself. But with your app, I didn’t need to! Dododex also showed me info on creatures I had seen but not known about too much.

The tips are nice as well, but people swear a lot. Like the f word, sh*t, crap, I even saw ni*g*r once. These words are bad and they should die.

this app is always there for me. If you find an egg and dont know if it makes kibble you need, all you need to do is quickly go to this app and type in the dino the egg comes from and there! You know what type of kibble the egg will make and then you can keep it or leave it if it’s not worth carrying! this app is not only good for that, there’s other stuff, too. When I find a good level dino I just swap to this app and see how much tranqs it will require to tame. It also has a tips area where users can submit their tips and you can upvote them so others can read those tips! Overall a great app, obviously your best choice for an all-around Ark companion!

I have used Dododex a lot it has taught me the true way to play making the experience much better I would have stoped playing a long time ago sure there’s some glitches but what it lacks in falling through the world while in caves has places a deinchuys can’t get out of it makes up in great detail gameplay and taming style if there was something I wanted to change is that there should be rock drakes and nameless there is a radiation zone in valgoro but it is still the most frequent game I play on the x box because Minecraft lies about what it says it has ark doesn’t thanks ark for being truthful 😀.

I’m confused why there are so many kibble in some of dinos like the velonasaur because I thought they changed kibble. I’m asking mostly since this is a new kibble system and I’m not sure how it works completely yet. Another question I have is does the new kibble work more efficient than the old kibble cuz I noticed some of timers went down by a lot ,for instance the giga when it required quetzal kibble it took 2 hrs and 13 mins roughly but since your app introduced new kibble the timer went down to 1 hr 59 mins I would love to know before I make unnecessary items or fall short. Asides my boring questions love Dododex .

All in all, Dododex is a true life saver. I could always go to the wiki page, but this is much faster and convenient. My only problem I’ve had with it so far is the starve timer is a little inaccurate. I was doing 130 beaver tame and the starve time said almost an hour and a half. But I got bored at 40 and put the food in then and it tamed up with plenty of food left to go. I did change a lot of tiny settings with my Ark for convenience, so I’m not sure if that might have interfered with it. If so, do you know what settings I can change so that it’s accurate? Dododex is AMAZING!!! Most of the data is near accurate (better than the wiki) and is immensely helpful for all creatures. However, other information needs to be updated, which include what the creature can fir through, and what it can be carried by. (FE, hyaenodons cannot fit through door frames, and dimetrodons cannot be carried by an argentavis.) Additionally, several tips are quite inappropriate, although they are sometimes funny, I will admit. A suggestion for Dododex would be to show where the creatures spawn in each map. Other than this, this app is essential for taming dinos in Ark.

I’ve been using Dododex since I’ve started playing almost 2 years ago. It is a necessary app to tame and breed dinos. I have recently got into aberration and noticed that some of the taming times are off for the dinos that have other map counterparts. My aberrant spino took almost twice as long than Dododex said. My advice is to watch the food amount and wait until it is at the amount it says instead of watching the starve timer. Creatures native to this map does not have this same issue.
